Mmm ... disappointed ... you said you were here to learn ... that takes a "progressive" open mind.Originally posted by imb706 View Post::rollseyes:: Clearly supermodels live terrible, oppressed lives with those millions of dollars, big mansions, huge exposure, marriages to power people and such. Poor supermodels. Why can't they be like women in the middle east and africa, having their genitals mutilated and having to stay in a shack under threat of violence unless they comply with age old restrictions.
Blonde Scandanavian supermodels, with their completely stress free lives, not having to conform to "age old" male "restrictions", has NOTHING to do with southern cultural chauvanism regarding middle eastern women.

More like sexy and sophisticated. Again, it's great that they don't care that people sleep around, I'm glad their sex lives aren't of great concern, to most anyway.Or more probably because the Frenchies are weird.Lol, I never said they did, I said A. that's not the worst live imaginable, and B. women in middle eastern and other "chauvinistic" and oppressive sides are made objects, not in Scandinavia.Blonde Scandanavian supermodels, with their completely stress free lives, not having to conform to "age old" male "restrictions", has NOTHING to do with southern cultural chauvanism regarding middle eastern women. Not really, I don't think you can justify frenchopobia on World War Two, especially when the French were instrumental to the American Revolution. The only nations known for big time surrendering and losing is middle eastern and some african countries, which unfortunately have only lost in their history. At least recent.1) At the 1st sound of gun fire > shout out loud > we surrenderDefinitely a great value, wish it was here in the US. Make the government and corporations afraid of you so they bend to your will, at least a little bit.5) Strike alotFrog legs are popular in Oregon. XD3) Eat Froggy legsLast edited by Guest; 04-28-2010, 08:23 AM.

Well, if they're loyal and patriotic to France, I can't see why they'd have problems adopting French values. French values are similar to American values, such as liberty, progress, fraternity (indeed, their national motto is liberty, equality, fraternity, similar to the US motto: Out of Many, One) and I don't think they should be eroded to please people from another country. That being said, I don't support government dress codes, so people should dress anyway they want. I'm a strict secularist though, so I don't mind the banning of religious symbols in public institutions.

Yeah, I've heard of them...Have you ever heard of religion and it's morals?Heh, I didn't even know that. That's interesting, USA is certainly diverse. We Afghans have been living in the USA according to the US statistics since the 1800's when we arrived as businessmen.Well, to each their own...Now does that mean we start wearing bikinis and booty shorts? We have a set of moral, modest principles that we follow.I'm not personally for patriotism though. It's just mental slavery to a state. I love America but I'm not a patriot, I don't follow it blindly. That does not take a bit away from our patrioticm.Secularism has nothing to do with infringing religious freedom. The US is secular by declaration of the US constitution, the founder of the US, Thomas Paine, was anti religious but advocating a separation of church and state. France is secular too. These two countries have the most religious freedom in the world. Secularism is the only way to guarantee true religious freedom. If a country has a 99percent Muslim population and is made for the Muslims of India, why shouldn't they worship what they want.Well, if I was living in it, yes. I wouldn't ever move there though. However, there's plenty of secularist in the Middle East and South Asia, I certainly support them.So countries like Pakistan that are not secular you would want them to be secular?Yep, full name is Jameson.Nice to meet you and I hope to learn from you, I believe your name is Jamie eh? Yes I am a known stalker in guest mode.Last edited by Guest; 04-28-2010, 08:34 AM.

On that matter with Israel, you're preaching to the choir. I don't support Israeli religious and ethnic policy. You have prompted me to look up Pakistan's history, it was once declared secular but became an Islamic Republic in the 70s. Talk about backwardsness. Iran also had a democratically elected secular leader in the 50s. Secularism does exist there, it's just be held down by Islamist. I don't support exclusion or the creation of societies for one group though.Ya I agree with that but you fail to realize those countries are more specifically for Muslims. Like Israel is made for Jews. you know how every Jew on earth is automatically granted Israeli citizenship, Even Jews who can't even find Israel on the map get Jewish citizenship. Yet Arabs have been there for YEARSSSS and still can't receive citizenship.I'll just quote Albert Einstein on this: ""Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism -how passionately I hate them! "Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind."Why are you not for patriotism? I'd like to hear you out on that one.I didn't know that either. They even pioneered the Australian railroad system and it was named after the Afghans. Later on it was changed to the 'Ghan'.How is Germany giving them the bad end?Afghans are really getting the bad end of the deal riht now Especially from a country like Germany whom Afghans gave refuge to in the hitler era.
