It surprises me sometimes, how people on forums talk about war and taking sides like its a child's game.

In realpolitik there are no friends and enemies. India and China cant afford to fight as none of them are developed yet. India even less so. They have simply too much to lose. But they gain a lot by being friends. China the world's manufacturing base and India the back office. Together they can conquer all.

I don't wish war to anyone. India is a flourishing country and so is China. I would really really hate for them to even think in those terms and considering how their decisions are drawn economically, i think they will not consider war as a solution. I just wish they would solve their issues with dialogue.

Aseer, there are tensions between India and China as with any two neighbors and emerging powers with global ambitions. But for us to consider the outcome of war, we have to study the factors that could/will lead to such an outcome. I think both the Indians and the Chinese are the amongst the smartest races on the earth. Jews would probably comprise the third such race. Both Indians and Chinese know that there is more benefit in mutual growth rather than war. China is India's biggest trading partner and India amongst top 5 for China. They have simply too much to lose. They are also aware that the real manipulator is the West which will try and play off the two for their own benefit. So I foresee a mixed future of maybe tensions on issues like China's support of Pakistan and India's support for Tibet but largely the relations between the two countries will be peaceful. The countries economically and militarily balance each other out, more or less. And they realize that there would be no winner in a war in such a scenario.
