    Musafira,

I cant speak on behalf of the entire USA but such "hate" crimes hardly exist in the East-Coast.

In fact, even if someone walks around in Burkah no one would care. They just don't care. There are areas of the east-coast where if you don't wear a scarf you might feel like an outsider.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I agree with you Admin Khan That in a HUGE city like New York the number of hate crimes towards Muslims averages only 10 in a year says a lot I think

Those 10 "hate crimes" aren't against Muslims but they are against humans. It's just unfortunate that - The person who is attacked happens to be practicing a Religion named Islam. No one wanders around with a baseball bat in search for Muslims.Don't get me wrong. They are obviously extremist people that do commit hate crimes against Muslims. But the media has obviously exagerrated the damage of these crimes. It almost appears as if the country intolerant which is obviously not true.

I dont understand why people are here trying to picture America as the most tolerant country in the world.

Institutionalized racism is a concept which is championed by American society. Social scientists from the United States of conducted many studies. Some of those studies are part of the curriculum around the world.

We learn about racism by studying research conducted in United States? Maybe because American researchers are so good that hteir work is adopted into curriculum in universities around the world. Or maybe because this particular phenomenon is more present in the AMerican society than else where in the developed and wealthy common wealths.

Institutionalized racism is a whole different subject than hate crimes against Muslims. America is far from perfect but in many regards it is more tolerant than many other countries towards legal immigrants.

With all due respect, In my honest opinion, It truly is. I attend a University that is dominated by Jews. When I say dominated, I really mean it. Yet they make out time for me to explain philosophical concepts on their day off. That is something they are not obliged to do. I'm sure my name screams ISLAM! Yet, I have never face discrimination in my life or any of these so called "hate-crimes". However, I can give you a few cases of PASHTUNS robbing Christians here. Would it fair to say Pashtuns are racist in the USA?Of course not. I said that to make a point. Anyways, I walk around the streets, and Ill be honest with you Sangar --If you have an accent with your American English many local mom and pop stores might "attempt" to "jip" you. But is that really discrimination? That even exists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. People here walk around in Kamez partog and knock on strangers house giving "Dawah" to Non-Muslims. Imagine a Christian knocking on your door in Kabul.

Racism exists in all societies. I am not saying the USA is perfect. But like I said with all due respect, Its far more tolerant than any Muslim country itself. You and I both know that.
