The victims are beaten to death to confess the crimes as we saw in this case. And not to forget the political gain--the story truly highlights how weak is the present govt of Afghanistan is in protecting the rights of its citizens--the rights given to them by the constitution of Afghanistan.
You are being very narrow-minded now. This is how you think, Let's say that you buy yourself a can of coke from a reject shop, and upon opening the can and drinking it, you find out that this coke does not taste like coke at all, yet the label says Coca Cola, with all the logos and such, it's a fake and thinking that you have been tricked, you get to the conclusion that because of this particular can bought from this particular shop, All Coca Cola cans taste bad and must be avoided.

The taliban weren't an organized force, they had no uniforms, most were simple men. Anyone can easily pose as a talibs just to demonize them. All you need is some Geybi Kalli, beard, lungi, and a gun. Especially these days, it's a trend to blame everything on the talibs yet hardly any other news gets published about how innocent people are bombarded by the West, and there you come, with your sentimental remarks. This is why the western media fails to convince me.

I used to have the same mentality as you, until, proven wrong by many people who lived under the taliban which included many Tajiks and Hazaras.

It costs a lot of money to keep people in prisons. Prisons are not cheap.

A girl talking to a guy is adultery to them, even), they should know what engagement and marriage mean, at least in Islam. Not to mention ... don't we all know by now that Muslim scholars actually DON'T agree on the whole idea of stoning adulterers to death? There are many more arguments against it from an Islamic point of view than there are FOR it. In fact, no argument is convincing enough when it comes to stoning adulterers to death.
Look all we are doing is talking on a topic with no evidence whatsoever that the Taliban did this. Anyone could've done this, who knows, the people from that town did it, and to escape punishment from the authorities, they blamed it on talibs, possibilities are endless. Now, prove to me that the taleban did this with evidence.

          No wonder you support Talibans...

Of course,If I were not a human, I would have brutally stabbed my husband and sliced him into thousand pieces, taken out his brain from his head through his nose and crushed it on the floor with my feet, squeezed out all his blood and let my dog drink it before it is evaporated in the air. His dirty meat would be something I won't give to vultures even but would just dump in my gutter. I would take out his eyes and crushed them with mortar and pestle until they become a homogenous mixture that would be eatnen by flies until maggots appear in them and finish it up.His bones would never experience the coldness of the soil, since I would make sharp weapons out of it and kill that girl with it and do everything with her also that I would do with his dead body BUT...I am a human and I must control my anger and animal instincts.I live in a civlized society and should act like one. Not killing my husband for cheating does not make me a lesser Pashtana than you. That is the wrong notion that needs to be dumped for the betterment of our society in general.

I think I am not as nonsensical as you tried to prove with that fake vs original CocaCola Can example. Anyway, based on my real-life experiences with Talibans, I have come to the conclusion (without an iota of "narrow-mindedness") that there are no good or bad talibans, just THE TALIBANS, who cannot think like normal humans.
So far the authenticity of the news is concerned, I would believe in the news items from western media more than those from eastern media for the simple reason that Journalism and Free Press have bloomed only in the West and hence are open to critcism, and into criticism. A certain amount of bias is always associated with every news item, but an educated guess is what sometimes you would need to confirm its validity, if you can't go out yourself to Kunduz and get the entire fact/figures.That is the job of the journalists to report to us.It amazes me how the validity of any NEWS related to other areas, subject matters, nature, etc. is not a matter of skepticism to many here, but skepticism reaches to its peak when something related to Talibans's brutality is published.I wish it was as funny as it sounds to me.

Sarcasm is like a second language to me, thank you for your generous input.

First of all, Talk is cheap, and for your experience with the Taliban? For all we know, you could be lying. When John doe accuses someone of a crime, John Doe presents it with proof and witnesses.

Secondly, Sceptics gather information from all sources, then they analyse it, they read it over and over again, they use their critical thinking, reasoning skills ... logical thinking... until they have reached a conclusion and of course you don't need to travel to Afghanistan to find this out. Which is why, I called you a narrow minded person, you only listen to the one side, and your judgment is clouded by emotions. You torture your poor brain with all that unnecessary propaganda, and you blame all your problems on Taliban for the world being so Fracked up. A typical conditioned mind indeed. And BTW, the news will never publish any good news, like when a Talib saves a woman from being raped, etc. or how John Doe wakes up in the morning, gets a shower, gets ready for work, eats up his breakfast and goes to work, then he returns home in the evening, kisses his wife on the cheek, takes her out on a dinner, and just when he enters the restaurant he finds out that he has won the lottery.. A good day indeed. So for the media, what better way to start your morning, but news on how taliban did this and did that.

Lastly, I am not saying the Taliban are perfect, neither am I their supporter or a supporter of the the northern alliance. But of course, when it comes to the truth, I will always try to seek for it myself. I keep an open mind.

P.S. I could've written a one liner, but I had to return your favor for the paragraph. Pardon the spelling mistakes.

Don't they need like 3 witnesses that testify that they seen them doing zinaa for them to be able to stone them to death?

did 3 people see them doing the deed?

Here is my advice, for what it's worth: You should have written a one liner.

"You could be lying"--I have to disappoint you big time that I don't have to resolve to "lying" at any point since you are yet to challenge me through your "logical reasoning" the extent where I feel so desperate to resolve to lying (which in reality is never possible).

Confused? The question is how would Jane Doe analyze the news if she has not even made up her mind to believe in the existence of the news story in the first place? And while you sit here and blame my brain cells for their "narrow-mindedness", you need to update yourself with something really pertinet to the news story in question. Please note that my intention is not to torture your brain cells with this.

"Mr Karzai also condemned the stoning to death on Sunday of a couple accused of adultery by the Taliban.
He said that he had ordered security officials to bring the perpetrators of the unforgivable punishment - in the northern province of Kunduz - to justice.
"Stoning these two young Afghans by an illegal group without a fair trial is an inhuman and un-Islamic act that can in no way be justified," the president said in a statement.
Human rights group Amnesty International said it was the first confirmed stoning in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban government nine years ago.
The stoning was watched by about 1,000 people at a bazaar in the village of Mullah Quli, which is under Taliban control."

Oh well, now you can say that President Karzai and John Doe are planning to share the lottery prize.

Jamaludeen, you can support talibans with your "open-mindedness" since they save women from rape. I can't support them with my all "narrow-mindedness" since these are the same people who blatantly deprived thousands of females (not just saving one or two women from rape) of their basic right of education and freedom.I don't need John Doe to dig the truth for me. I just don't have to be blind and dumb.

Gulalai Desta na khlasa da, thank you for wasting my precious time again. If you are not lying then please back up your accusations with proof. You make accusations after accusations yet no proof, and now you accuse me of being a talib supporter, LOL. Mr Karzai also condemned the stoning of death, wow Mr Karzai, the brother of a drug dealer also condemns it, it's a very serious issue i must say, i think things are going to change now.

Just so you know, Drug Dealers are very good people. They are doing so much to clean the society from all the evil and thus whoever is related to drug dealers must be taken very seriously.

Btw, did i tell you, that sarcasm is like a second language to me. Just so you know

oh yeah, don't bother to reply if you can't produce no proof.

I think, i agree with you. Pedophiles, rapists, and murderers should be kept in Jails. Their punishment don't fit the crime, they should actually be sent to mental asylums, where they can be cured and allowed back in the society. No matter how much the cost, forget the poor, who cares about the Poor? Spend that money on criminals, keep them alive.

This is so, their presence can taunt the victim and the victims family on daily basis. On the other hand, Petty crimes such as shoplifting, etc, can be dealt with, without sending people to prisons or executing them.

Guys and girls, I had developed a little compassion after the recent floods and was irking to gather some effort to help the 'poor folk' back in pakhtunkwha.

However, reading your comments above I changed my mind again. As my mother would say, 'sar sadaka shi, thala thargha shi, meerath shi'
well you all deserve every s h i t and nuicanse that is happening, mostly of your own doing. Its not the punjabi elite or the arabian sheikhs, or CIA, KGB, Mossad or what ever. Its you, a pathetic excuse for humans.

You all have tarnished the nobel pakhtoon name.

Well keep guarding the nobel female genitalia and keep offering human lives in 'nazarana' for it. Your ancestors did it why shouldnt you. That arabian desert illitrate did it, why shouldnt you. The aztecs used to offer human sacrifice the egyptians did it, so keep offering it.

In the mean time once your preoccupation with female genitalia is over I am afraid the world will be so far ahead that the 'chowkidari' jobs that are now available for you will be taken by someone else as well.

Soon even the effort required to imagine a heaven will become an impossible task.

In the meantime the price of that nobel pashtoon genitalia has dropped significantly in the world market, the widow of a talib is in the same quandary as the widow of the one he blew up with him. Both sell for a little over 2 dollars. There numbers will soon be in the millions.

More fun for the arabs jihadis I guess. What more can one say. Pathetic losers.

No, rapists, child-molesters and etcetera can be punished with death straight away, someone who ruins not just one person but an entire family's lives doesn't deserve to live. But such a thing as 'cheating in a relationship' is very personal and that should be discussed within the family, it's none of Taliban's, government's or other people's business! On the judgement day, it's those sinners who will have to answer for their deed; Not the Taliban, not the government, nor those who stoned them to death.

You said it, and we took your word for it? There is nothing wrong with interaction between males and females, as we do here, for educational purposes. Yes, I agree meeting together, mixing, and intermingling of men and women in one place, crowding of them together, the revealing and exposing oneself for entertainment purposes that yield no benefits are prohibited by the Law of Islam. These acts are prohibited because they are among the causes for fitnah, the arousing of desires, and the committing of indecency and wrongdoing. The recent arguments about men and women, not having desires and the like, I don't buy any of it. Adultery in Islam is not defined as or limited to interaction between males and females. Neither were Islamic rulings made in a bubble, nor they pop out every once in a while out of one. To accuse someone of zina or fornication is a grave sin, and to bear witness to such a case, is dealt with sensitively in the Islamic Court.

Baygham, having sympathy and helping someone in need, or genuine care shouldn’t arise from or be limited by your dealings with others and their stance on issues which have little relevance to the present situation. If you, in all honesty and sincerity desire to help someone, do it with pure intentions and leave politics and other interests aside.

Its not the punjabi elite or the arabian sheikhs, or CIA, KGB, Mossad or what ever. Its you, a pathetic excuse for humans.

You all have tarnished the nobel pakhtoon name.
May I ask, what it means to be Pakhtoon? How you define this noble and superior race?

On one end, you’re not happy with a claim about Islamic rulings being the base of a controversial reign in Afghanistan, and on the other, you stand by the same claim made by others too, of what comes around, goes around, that the flood victims deserve every disaster that shattered their lives. Contradiction is you ask me.

That arabian desert illitrate did it, why shouldnt you. The aztecs used to offer human sacrifice the egyptians did it, so keep offering it.

So I assume you entertain the news headlines every morning? For your information, women aren’t classified as inferior to other forms of creation in Islam that we guard them using animalistic tactics. A woman, who wants to fulfil her desires, will do so, and when she does, religion, family and cultural values are the last of her concerns. And the same applies for men. Whether I should say this, I wonder, but what Islam does, is aims to prevent anything that may lead to separation or a shattered home because of illegitimate acts as the one mentioned in the article.

Your words echo ignorance, nothing less. If anything, it is not Muslims who are preoccupied with females as you like to make it seem. Women in Islam are taught to effortlessly ward off such acts. As I said earlier, there are exceptions, yes, and minorities among every group of people, but, if anything, this preoccupation, immorality, crime, and abuse are written all over the same western culture you indirectly commend. And I doubt I need to illustrate examples.

On an end note, let me remind you that my response to you does not mean I entertain the acts in the article. As an outsider, the last thing one should do is judge and assume things about either side of the coin. When obtaining factual information becomes hard, we shouldn’t resort to drawing false conclusions and basing our judgements on those faulty ideas.
