First, Thomas Jefferson had many many good traits in terms of his investigative nature and the leading power of this era has many constitutionalists who would beg to differ regarding Jefferson serving as a powerful example of leadership for their people.

I know Muhammad didn't have many redeeming qualities, but if you're going to give him the title of "prophet of God", you shouldn't be comparing him to a person with no holy attributes in the form of Thomas Jefferson.

Second, no Prophet and certainly no major leader with the except of Cyrus had advocated freedom for bondsmen and bondswomen. Its certainly not a principle advocated in Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism etc.

So yes its perfectly "cool" when you have a good man who was renowned in his time for doing the outlandish thing of freeing slaves, advocating for their freedom irrespective of their religion, and also advocating that once freed they be married as well or be considered appropriate for marriage.

What if those slaves still wanted to be free? Would it be "cool" to own them?
