India, Pakistan and Bangladesh can become a 'federation': Ram Vilas Paswan

HYDERABAD: Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan today favoured India, Pakistan and Bangladesh becoming a " Mahasanghatan" (federation) with a common currency and open trade, a move, he claimed would put an end to terrorism to a large extent.

HYDERABAD: Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan today favoured India, Pakistan and Bangladesh becoming a " Mahasanghatan" (federation) with a common currency and open trade, a move, he claimed would put an end to terrorism to a large extent

"We cannot say if they can reunite or not; if they (the three countries) reunite, it's very good thing. At least if they don't become one nation (again), it can become a federation ('Mahasanghatan' as he put it)," Paswan told PTI in an interview here.

"Bharat, Pakistan and Bangladesh were all in one nation (earlier)," the LJP chief said when asked for his views on BJP general secretary Ram Madhav's recent statement that RSS believes that the three nations would one day reunite again not by war but through "popular goodwill".

"These three nations can become a 'federation'", Paswan said, mooting the idea of common currency, open trade and lifting of restrictions on movement of people.

"This will put an end to terrorism to a large extent," he added.

His comments have come after BJP's National General Secretary Ram Madhav said that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh will reunite one day to create "Akhand Bharat" or an 'Undivided India'.

Madhav had told Doha-based Al Jazeera: "The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) still believes that one day these parts, which have for historical reasons separated only 60 years ago, will again, through popular goodwill, come together and 'Akhand Bharat' will be created."

Paswan also described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's last week's surprise visit to Lahore as a "masterstroke" and said it is an attempt to link the hearts of the people of the two countries.

"People on both the sides of the border want 'permanent friendship' between the two countries. Only terrorists oppose good bilateral relations between New Delhi and Islamabad," he said.

The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said the LJP is fighting for reservation of SCs and STs in private sector.

"Not that you give reservation in all posts... where there is available -- Class-III and Class-IV posts, you can give (reservation)".

Paswan rejected suggestions from opposition parties that 'Ache Din' is yet to come for 'aam aadmi' even after one-and-half year tenure of the Modi Government, as he listed various initiatives of the Centre, including Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana and Mudra Bank.

This is not a bad idea, (something like a European Union) but obviously most people in Pakistan would reject it, because they think they are closer to persians then to Indians, not sure about Bangladesh or India

It should also include similar countries like Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, which have shared history, people, culture etc...

I think there should be a federation type union in most countries, Central Asia could have one too, like all the Iranic nations, but for that Pakistan will have to be divided. Western Pakistan is Iranic and eastern Indic

I don't get it, low caste muslims from UP/Bihar were biggest benefactors of partition. Ideal would have been to let them root there cleaning gutters. Instead we had to take these traitors in the name of Islam. Kya yeh zulm ki inteha nai? I blame British empire and Jinnah for making this kind of ****ed up deal. Also Paki muslims were too stupid in that time to see anything and take unrelated people in because of Islam and brotherhood.

In worst case scenario there should be 5 countries out of Pakistan.

Bhaiyas can't even feed themselves. I guess in united India whole UP/bihar would have ended up in Pak punjab, but we still got millions of bhaiya muslims after parition in punjab which is shameful.

Dude no offence but this is why I doubt you are Paki muhajir. You are bhaiya muslim no doubt but not Paki muhajir. If tomorrow Pakistan open borders again for bhaiya muslims then millions of your kind will come running. For muhajirs Pakistan was best thing ever to happen, to escape low caste status and on top of that in hindu majority areas. You guys were worst of then even hindu dalits, according to Indian reports Indian muslims in general are worst of still then hindu dalits.

Hell even now there are reports of muhajirs/MQM giving cnic to illegal indian muslims to increase vote bank.

This is not talking about making it one country, it's talking about a union of sort, comparable to (European Union). Whats wrong with that? Why are you bent on making India, Bangladesh your enemy no matter what, no sure how the paki nationalist mindset works. Even people on your Pak defense forum are liking this idea

The people who came to Pak weren't low caste, in fact they were all from Upper Class, educated families, coming to Pakistan many lost everything and had to start from beginning. Many muhajirs today agree that Pakistan idea was a false idea, it did more harm then good, killed millions and still is killing. Today no one will come to Pakistan, no matter what they are going through in India, ask the Kashmiries that question, majority would say no to Pakistan

Can't really speak for the whole of Bangladesh (but asad71 is definitely not an example of a sane Bangladeshi, personally I think his age has made him not fully *with it*) but my thoughts are this.

- Bangladeshis, as you've probably seen are far less aggressive people than Pakistanis, quite placid and calm, even seen as somewhat timid and passive by Pakistanis.

- We don't have the same hatred for India or Hindus as the Pakistanis do, no this messianic belief in our destiny as conquerors, subjugators of the Hindus to revive neo-Mughal glory as the Pakistanis do.

Thus I believe we would be willing to maximise any form of political & economic co-operation with India that does not compromise our sovereignty.

2 things for me (and probably most Bangladeshis) that could never be compromised aside from symbols of national identity e.g. flag are:

1: Military - would always have to be separate
2: Currency

Other than that I don't think we would be opposed to some sort of ASEAN style co-operation with India.

Even if in a hypothetical world if there were to be a south Asian EU, Pakistan should definitely be excluded as they would cause too many problems even in practical things such as stealing from the budget and demanding a greater share of resources than they deserve.

What do Mohajirs feel about Pakistan?

Do they regret it?

I know most do love Pakistan and wish it could be a country that they could be proud of and deep inside regard as one where they are equal citizens, but I'm not sure most think they are equal citizens.

Is it true they're looked down upon by Punjabis, Pathans including for their "dark skin"?

No it wont put an end to "terrorism" because paki occupation of Afghan and Baloch land is the real "terrorism". Conflict and violence wont be solved until liberation of Baloch and Pashtun land. Whatever Indic races choose for their future after that is entirely up to them.

They were low caste ajlaf muslims, well known fact. There is no such a thing as upper caste UP muslim. They were either ashraf which mean foreigner or ajlaf which mean dalit convert. You claim to be UP pathan and not UP rajput for a reason. You are either ajlaf muslim or wannabe be UP pathan. High caste muhajirs never claim local origins out of shame. Gutter cleaning gandi nasal.

Pakistani idea was not right for couple of reasons.

They should have never allowed unrelated bhaiyas in the name of Islam, let their kin hindus butcher them. The exchange should have been limited to east punjab up to river sutlej. Anything byond is not our area or people.

This way we could now have less population of unrelated people who are at best traitors and slaves of RAW and in best of cases they want to create Jinnahpur.

But only jinnahpur muhajirs will create will be in bottom arabian sea all drowned. Stop dreaming about pashtun girl like bengali tiger for **** sake.

LOL why is this stinking paki trying to talk smack about his fellow Dalits? First of all Bundjab is the land with historically the biggest demographics and population of "low castes" in entire Indian history which is attested in both Hindu and British historical documents.

Second of all Bundjab is the only province of pakistan to freely and whole heartedly embrace the Urdu language imported to them from north-central India while Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi and Bangali all rejected it and have been struggling against it. Bangali actually fighting against Urdu language of "Bhaiyas"until liberation of their land while Bundjabi cultural weaklings give up their language for Urdu for free, lool.

So dont run your sh*tty trap when your daal khor people have already officially accepted their cultural and linguistic inferiority to Karachi by embracing his Urdu language over your own native Dalit tongue aka punjabi language which is the most retarded and sh*ttest sounding of all Dalit languages.

Here typical punjabi dalit kids of napakistan singing in their ugly punjabi language: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2fsdcw I can understand why these Dalit poopjab people want to quietly ditch punjabi for Urdu, which sounds only mildly better, but not by much.

Totally agree.

Plus Baloch and Pakhtuns are Iranic races that are linguistically and racially part of south-west Asia and more similar to Kurds than Bengalis or Tamils. This is a reality which has to be accepted.

"Pakistaniyaat" involves an Iranic Baloch or Pakhtun artificially orientating himself culturally eastwards towards India and racially/genetically very different peoples whilst distancing themselves from their Iranic roots.

It is like Bengalis, Marathis or Tamils trying to orientate themselves towards the Mongoloid world and neglecting their Indic origin and reality.

People need to live in reality and not in fantasy.
