Being a Muslim myself means I come across more Muslims than you do, even if I just come out to pray in the mosques i will come across hundreds of other Muslims every single day, all races all nationalities yet you think we're clueless about the AVERAGE mentality of Muslim people compared to you, how is this logical. What makes you so clued up?

Islamically we are not allowed to murder innocent people or commit suicide, so for a Muslim to go pilgrimage with intention to kill or commit suicide is insane. Personally speaking I've been to pilgrimage quite a few times and at the busiest times, this 'mentality' thing your going on about is a load of nonsense. Some made up philosophy by yourself.

Not sure what you meant about hippy liberal vegans, is that some sort of problem?

      11 Bangladeshis among the dead
Says Hajj agency; details not available, information mainly from relatives

      Staff Correspondent
At least 11 Bangladeshis were killed and 80 others injured in the Hajj stampede in Makkah on Thursday, Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab) said yesterday.

Their identities were not immediately available.

Besides, 98 other Bangladeshis remain missing since the stampede that occurred when two large groups of pilgrims arrived together at a crossroads in Mina, about five kilometers from the holy city of Makkah.

“Of the 80 injured, 30 have returned to their camps after taking primary treatment. But the condition of most of the 50 others is critical,” Haab President Ibrahim Bahar told The Daily Star.

Details of the 11 dead Bangladeshis, who are among the 769 Hajjis killed, could not be known because the Saudi authorities were not allowing anyone in the hospitals, he said.

Ibrahim said Saudi authorities released 650 photos of the dead so far, but that included only two photos of Bangladeshis.

Meanwhile, citing the Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah, the foreign ministry in Dhaka confirmed the identity of one victim -- Md Shahidul Islam of Khulna.

Two more dead bodies have been identified as Bangladeshis but their details were not available either.

In addition, family members of a female Hajji Firoza Khanam confirmed her death in the stampede, said a foreign ministry statement.

Our Feni correspondent said three of those killed are from the district.

They are Tahera Begum, 73, widow of late Nurul Haque Master of Matiganj union of Sonagazi; her brother Nur Nabi alias Mintu, 69, of Nadona village under Bogadana union of Sonagazi; and Khaleda Akhter, 34, of Paglir Kul village under Chithalia union of Parshuram.

Tahera Begum's son Maeen Uddin confirmed the death of his mother and his uncle, citing his telephone conversation with Imam Uddin, who has been injured in the biggest tragedy that befell Hajj in 25 years.

Khaleda's death was confirmed by Hafez Jahangir of Parshuram.

She went to perform Hajj with her husband Joynal Abednin, head clerk of Feni District Registrar. Joynal is Jahangir's brother.

Another couple from Kalabagan in Dhaka -- AK Fazlul Haque Chowdhury, 57, general manager of Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Ltd, and his wife Halima Akhter, 51 -- were killed in the stampede, said their only son Farhan Naveed Chowdhury.

“I came to know this from my uncle's colleague who was with my parents,” Farhan, 24, told The Daily Star.

It is not clear if this couple or the three people from Feni are among the 11 that the Haab believes to be dead.

Bangladesh's foreign ministry in its statement said medical teams were working at various hospitals in Makkah and collecting information about missing Hajjis.

The Bangladesh mission in Saudi Arabia opened hotlines for the relatives to inquire about the Hajjis. The numbers are 00966537375859 and 00966509360082.

However, Farhan Naveed said he tried these numbers several times but no one picked up the call.

Citing their personnel in Makkah, the Haab president said they feared more deaths of Bangladeshi Hajjis, but were not getting adequate information.

“Hospitals are not allowing us in. So, we don't have accurate information on the injured or the dead.

“Relatives are calling us anxiously, but we are failing to provide them proper information,” Ibrahim said.

Bangladesh's Religious Affairs Minister Matiur Rahman, Secretary Chowdhury Md Babul Hasan and Haab leaders were scheduled to meet in Makkah yesterday evening to discuss the latest development.

This year, over 1,00,000 Bangladeshis went to perform Hajj.

      ============

The Saudis have failed. The main cause, as it will emerge, is the brutal/barbaric attitude of the Saudi security personnel. We Muslims must think of alternatives. OIC is an useless organization. They may find some work here. If a committee is selected by OIC each year to look after the Hajj, they could then seek assistance from nations like BD, Indonesia, etc to post armed forces personnel to take control.

This is God's punishment on the Saudis for not taking in Syrian refugees, just like the crane incident.

Victims of the stampede are not Saudis. Why would God massacre non Saudis for the sins of Saudis? It doesn't make any sense. Most victims were Iranian Shiites.

Besides, claiming that Saudis did not take any Syrian refugee is debunked. They have taken many: http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/81759...ampaign=buffer

Literally all authentic sources say that Saudi Arabia currently is not hosting any refugees from Syria. Whether these refugees choose not to go there is not known. This Canadian man's wife in Saudi Arabia was being forced to get deported back to Syria because Saudi officials thought she was "overstaying" her visit in the kingdom.

Btw the crane incident a week ago was also believed by many to be the wrath of God. Surly not a coincidence.

You believe in a pretty messed up God who punishes the innocent for alleged crimes of others.

How do you know these people were innocent? They could have been sinners who travelled to Hajj hoping to redeem themselves. Allah punishes people in various way, every muslim knows that.

If there is no evidence of their sin, then assuming their death is some sort of Punishment is a Christian dogma.

In Islam we are not suppose to judge people if we don't know about their sin.

If the crane would have fallen on Saudi Royal family, I could think of a whole list of sins they have committed. It is known all around the world.

However, unknown people who died while performing an act of worship are judged by what is apparent: they died while worshipping their lord.

Thinking they were punished means you haven't understood the a b en c of Islam yet.

I am depressed by just trying to figure out how you reason about God and punishment. Must be quite challenge being you. No offense, but it really shocked me. I think I might need to take a pause here.

Are you denying that God doesn't interfere in human affairs? That God doesn't test us in our wrong doings? This is illogical belief on your side no offence. Never heard of Karma? Cause and effect? I mean really, why didn't Allah stop the holocaust of Jews or the Mongol Invasion of half of Asia and Europe. Do you not believe that Allah wiped out an Arab tribe in the past notable for their sins according to a Hadith? God always smites the wicked.

I'm more surprised that a "mullah" like yourself did not know this.

I did not mix hinduism with anything, Karma just means action and doing in Sanskrit. It basically means cause and effect as i mentioned earlier below. I bet you think birth defects and miracles are "natural" and "coincidences" too.

This is how atheists are born.
