  • ISIS loyalists vow to eliminate Durand Line

By KHAAMA PRESS - Wed Sep 09 2015, 6:56 pm

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) loyalists aiming to gain a foothold in Afghanistan have vowed to eliminate the Durand Line in a bid to unite and pave the way for the Muslims divided by the line.
A spokesman for the terror group’s self-proclaimed Khurasan province said the Islamic State eye to destroy the borders similar as they did between Iraq and Syria.
The porous Durand Line has also been a source of tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan where numerous cross-border attacks have been carried out besides the bordering regions have long been and continues to be the main shelter of the terror groups.
In the meantime, affiliates of the terror group have doubled efforts to encourage the dissident high level Taliban commanders to join the ISIS group in a bid to further gain foothold in the country.
The spokesman for the terror group said a delegation of prominent scholars have been sent by the group’s Khurasan province chief to Uruzgan province to meet with the senior Taliban leader Mullah Mansoor Dadullah.
This comes as the group claimed yesterday that Mullah Dadullah was rescued from an offensive by the Taliban militants involving 2,100 fighters in southern Zabul province.
He said at least 230 ISIS fighters were deployed to Zabul from western Farah province to engage the Taliban militants and rescue Mullah Dadullah.
He also claimed that Mullah Abdul Manan, the brother of the Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar, prefers to join the ISIS group rather than pledging allegiance to the newly appointed Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.

By KHAAMA PRESS - Thu Sep 10 2015, 9:51 am

Daesh militant group has been running prisons in Achin District of eastern Nangarhar province.
Governor of Achin District says that these prisons currently exist in three areas where the group is holding civilians to include community elders.
This report comes after the group closed some schools in this District.
Although, the group has been operating in Nangarhar province from several months now but closing schools and opening prisons instead is something new.
About two weeks before, Nangarhar’s Directorate of Education reported that 41 teachers were sent home after Daesh closed six schools in Achin District.
Residents say that Daesh believe after graduation, these students would work for government.
Nangarhar has become a hot spot for the newly emerged group of terrorists.
The group has been operating in at least seven districts of this province. Beside, Achin the group has been operating in Chaparhar, Kot, Bati Kot, Ghanikhel, Dih Bala, and Nazyan districts.
The expansion of Daesh in this eastern province has not only prompted actions from government but also awakened former Jihadi commanders and community elders of the eastern region.
These commanders and elders recently set an ultimatum for government to cope with the situation or they will take arms to defend their communities.

      • Pakistani Taliban militants shifting over to ISIS: Janan Mosazai

By KHAAMA PRESS - Thu Sep 10 2015, 4:40 pm

The Afghan ambassador to Pakistan Janan Mosazai said the militants of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are shifting over to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group.
Speaking during a seminar on Countering Violence Extremism, Mosazai insisted for regional cooperation to fight terrorist group, particularly the self-styled ISIS terror group.
Mosazai said the region should have a common collective response against this common enemy, insisting that “there is no single country strategy or solution to the menace of terrorism today…”
“An example of this is the attempt by some former TTP militants to infiltrate into Nangarhar province and switch over to the black flag or Daesh, which we have been containing,” Mosazai quoted by local media reports said.
He also added that the terror group was spreading “its propaganda and obscurantist worldview” also in Pakistan, similar as other parts of the world.
Mosazai warened that “Networks of terror have shown that they are fast, they are quick, they are better at coordination, communication and cooperation. On the contrary, states, including in this region, are still a lot slower. We have not developed and agreed upon a set of rules and mechanisms required to make our collective response and actions effective.”
He also emphasized that the countries would have to take actions on national level to “shut down rallies, meetings, gatherings and fatwa centres that provide an essential underpinning or raise motivation for the senseless violence that continues to blight our region.”
The remarks by Mosazai comes as the activities by the loyalists of the terror group have been rampant during the recent weeks with reports suggesting ISIS affiliates are also operating private prisons in eastern Nangarhar province where they keep over 120 prisoners which mostly includes members of the Afghan security forces.

By KHAAMA PRESS - Sun Sep 20 2015, 8:50 am

300,000 children have been facing uneducated future because of Daesh in eastern Nangarhar province.
According to the information provided by the directorate of education Directorate in Nangarhar, 58 schools have either been closed by Daesh or shut down because of the security threat from this group.
Mohammad Asif, spokesman for the directorate of education said the closure has caused 300,000 children out of school.
He said the education department is trying to reopen these schools through negotiations with security forces, local administration and community elders.
The barbarism of Daesh has made people frustrated in Nangarhar.
Few days before, dozens of residents of Achin District arrived in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar, and criticized government for not taking strict actions against the group.
They said that without any reason Daesh terrorists capture people and kill them.
A teen aged boy whose eyes were full of tears said that Daesh killed his father for no reason.
An old lady, who wanted to tell media about Daesh’s brutality she had seen, fell unconscious without saying anything.

The group has also started recruiting child soldiers.

                        • Extremism on the rise in unofficial religious Madrasas in Afghanistan

By KHAAMA PRESS - Mon Sep 21 2015, 10:03 pm

The Afghan government could face new challenges from the unofficial religious Madrasas – seminaries, according to a new survey report which suggests extremists thoughts have been adopted and are widely spreading among the students and teachers of these Madrasas.
The report has been prepared by Afghanistan Institute for Strategic Studies which covers 50 unofficial Madrasas in ten different provinces of the country.
At least 306 educators and students have been interviewed by the researchers of the report which covers Madrasas operating in southern, northern, eastern and central parts of the country.
Up to 15 percent of the Madrasas are under the impression of extremism and 8 percent of those who have been interviewed believes in Salafism and Wahhabism, an author of the report Abdul Ahmad Mohammadi said.
He said the footprints of radicalism could be found in these Madrasas and a large number of eductors and students believe that Salafism and Wahhabism truly reflects Islam.
Expressing concerns regarding the adoption of Salafism and Wahhabism ideology, Mohammadi said the majority of these students and educators are based in eastern Nangarhar and Kunar provinces.
According to Mohammadi Salafism and Wahhabism was one of the indicators of the survey while the other indicator included support to suicide attacks where 17 percent of those interviewed endorsed suicide attacks in specific conditions but majority of them (80%) have opposed suicide attack against the Afghan forces.
He said the newly emerging phenomenon could create a major challenge for the Afghan government in security, political and social affairs.
In the meantime, 60 percent of those interviewed have suggested that the women should remain in their houses rather than focusing on education while 33 percent others have said that women should not have political activities.
Around 13 percent of the survey participants have opposed equal rights of men and women but in eastern Kunar 97 percent have said the rights of men and women are not equal.
The report also reveals frustration of the survey participants regarding the Taliban group activities where only 3 percent of them have endorsed their activities and 60 others have said that the group is fighting for the interests of the foreigners.
75 percent of the survey participants have said that the Afghan government is legitimate and Islamic and 80 percent of them have said they support role in the Afghan government affairs.
