Incidentally, Maryam Mirzakhani attended a high-school for the intellectually gifted in Iran; one of my personal dreams is to retire early as a Physician but become a part of the first such educational establishment in my native land. This is why a hobby of mine is to learn as much undergrad science as I can.

If I have my way or anything to say in the political establishment of a third world state it will be hunting down every single profoundly intellectually gifted student (like Maryam) I can find in every remote village in my home-land (via culture-free IQ tests) to cultivate a true cognitive elite that ought to be running any state. A great collateral damage of this age of political correctness and forced egalitarianism in the west has been the needs of the intellectually gifted: there was a time, only a bit more than half a century ago, when grammar schools (no, not private schools for the rich) that selected based on cognitive ability (tests similar in fact to the American SAT some decades ago) was a common thing here in the UK. Today, they are a disappearing institution and if the political left has its way, what is left will soon be gone.
