    - The Burmese killed one Bangladeshi soldier while he was in Bangladeshi soil.

    - They have released his body after diplomatic pressure from Bangladesh.

    - Apparently Bangladeshi tanks went to the border and the air force was put on a state of high alert.

    Bangladesh Air Force.

Some are speculating that the Burmese got scared.

If there is a repeat and war escalates, there are thousands of Indonesians who will be all too happy to go to Bangladesh to defend our soil.

The Burmese are not good soldiers. In the past 2 years they have had 5,000 of their soldiers killed by the KIA (Kachin rebels) and can no way deal with the far more professional Bangladesh military.

On a previous occassion 600 Burmese soldiers were killed in one incident on the Naf river.

"Naf is a bordering river between Bangladesh and Myanmar. Upper Naf has about 12 branches of smaller river. In 1966, Pakistan and Burma concluded a treaty agreeing that none of the countries will train the Naf river or branches of rivers . With the natural shifting of depth of river the demarcation of boundary between the countries will shift. When I took over as DG BDR I was told that 28 hundred acres TOTAL DIP OF BANGLADESH had been grabbed by Myanmar by shifting the depth of Naf river by building dams, groans and spars on the stewaries of main Naf river taking advantage of 1966 treaty. Suddenly, Myanmar started building dam on the last branches of Naf river, if completed whole TAKNAF would go into the sea. We protested but in-vain. Myanmar didn't stop. To protect the building side Myanmar deployed two divisions Army under command two major generals one from army and another from Navy. We positioned 2500 BDR troops under DDG BDR and kept the command directly under me. In one night, I moved 25 lac different types of ammunition and bombs in Cox's Bazar. Kept half in Cox's Bazar and sent half to the war positions. On 1st January 2000 at about 2.30 pm, I gave order for firing and the offensive strick was on. It lasted for 3 days in which 600 Myanmar army soldiers were killed. The war was live broadcasted by reporters Z. I. Mamun and Supan Roy on Ekushey Television. On 4th January, Myanmar's Head of the State Senior General Than Shwe call all the diplomats in Rangoon telling them that, Myanmar wants no war with Bangladesh. Cease fire was effected and a letter came from Myanmar govt saying, "We invite a delegation from Bangladesh to discuss all outstanding matters between two countries without any preconditions". Negotiation started under joint secretary (political affairs) Janibul Haque of the Ministry of Home Affairs, who headed the Bangladesh delegation in Myanmar. During the bilateral talks, Myanmar side was so wrought-up that they didn't even provide typewriters. And the treaty was signed on hand written documents. Myanmar dismantle the dam, thus we could save Teknaf from being lost into the Bay of Bengal. We defeated Myanmar's forces completely with no loss of life from our side. This is in nutshell about NAF WAR."

    - The Indonesian volunteers who may come to defend Bangladesh will be more than a match for the poorly trained Burmese military who force children to fight for them.

UPDATE: 6 Burmese troops killed. 2 from the regular Burmese military (in defiance of international law which states that regular army forces cannot patrol borders, only special border forces can) and 4 BGP (Burmese border guards).

This in addition to the other 4 Burmese killed a week or so ago means:

      - 1 Bangladeshi dead: 10 Burmese dead.

Here is a URL with a picture of dead Burmese soldiers:

So far on facebook this picture has 49 shares already.

I do not take any joy in such pictures as whenever I see dead people I think of their mothers who raised them.

I do not want a war with Burma and want a political solution to the Rohingya conflict.

If however they continue to cause trouble for us, our army will smash them.

We also have support from 200 million people of Indonesia. Many who will volunteer to defend our soil.

U.S. calls for probe of reports of Myanmar military atrocities

        WASHINGTON | BY DAVID BRUNNSTROM

The United States on Thursday called for a credible, independent investigation by Myanmar's government of reports of military atrocities in the country's Shan State, saying they were reprehensible, if true.

A rights group, the Shan Human Rights Foundation, accused Myanmar's army last week of bombing schools and Buddhist temples, firing on civilians and rape in an offensive against ethnic rebels in eastern Myanmar that has uprooted more than 10,000 people.

"We are concerned by reports of Burmese military atrocities, including allegations of indiscriminate attacks on civilian populations and infrastructure, rape, and other acts of sexual violence," said Katina Adams, a spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department.

"These allegations, if true, are reprehensible, and we urge the Government of Burma to undertake a credible, independent investigation into these allegations, and to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions."

Last month, the senior U.S. diplomat for Asia, Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel, was in Myanmar, which is also known as Burma. He met Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing and urged the military to exercise restraint and to work to promote peace and reconciliation in conflict areas.

Myanmar has fought ethnic groups in its borderlands off and on for decades, causing massive displacement within the country and forcing hundreds of thousands to seek refuge across the border in Thailand.

In October, a military-backed civilian government that replaced a military junta in 2010 signed a ceasefire with eight armed ethnic groups. But the deal fell short of its nationwide billing, with seven of the 15 invited groups declining to sign, including the Shan State Army-North and the Kachin Independence Army.

After 2010, the country embarked on U.S.-backed reforms towards elections that were held last month. Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy won in a landslide, but her party has yet to take power.

According to activists in Shan state, the army has shelled six villages, shot and injured three people, and fired on 17 villagers who are now missing, since Oct. 6.

The Shan Human Rights Foundation said it had documented eight cases of sexual violence since April 2015, including a 32-year-old woman gang-raped by 10 soldiers on Nov. 5 while her husband was tied up under their farm hut in Ke See township.

The Myanmar government has not responded to requests for comment about the fighting in Shan state.

Bamar fascist, Aung San Suu Kyi.

        - Burma is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious state consisting of Buddhists, Muslims and Christians and ethnicities such as the ruling Bamars, Kachins, Shans, Rohingyas and others.

        - The Bamars - like the Punjabis in Pakistan - have taken control of the state and rule over others.

        - Suu Kyi is a Bamar fascist and Bamar supremacist.

Bamar nationalists like to use the "Buddhist" card to touch in to Islamophobic elements to portray themselves as defenders of Buddhism against Islam. However what they don't mention is this:

        - The Bamar army kills Buddhists e.g. the Shan.

        - The Bamar army destroys Buddhist temples.

        - The Bamar army is sworn enemies with majority Buddhist Thailand.
