A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Can you elaborate on that, if you don't mind. I want to learn from you Badluna, hope you don't mind. My intention is sincere.

What goes around comes around as they say.

Its the same phenomena as in Egypt where it is now shown that interventionists are trying their utmost to overturn the popular order. Remember, the surveys, Pew Polling, Maryland research pretty much was on the mark when it predicted the sorts of governments these folks would vote in:

"Scheuer: My guess on that is that since Morsi and the Brotherhood were elected in fair and open elections, the United States and its allies have been working with the opposition to get them out on the streets. Anything with the term “Islamic” in it scares these people to death. I suspect that Mrs. Clinton’s State Department, the British Foreign Office, have been helping the opposition forces with computers and money and organizational skills and that kind of thing. It just goes against the grain to me somehow when we keep having fairly-elected governments and then we have a government that we don’t like and we try to overthrow it. It’s a ridiculous situation. It’s kind of a quiet intervention, but in the long run perhaps a more damaging kind of intervention. What we’re saying to the Egyptian people is that you’re so stupid you believe in religion and you wanted these people in power. We’re going to fix you with these secularists. We’ll push them into power. Really all that will result is a civil war like we’re watching in Syria."
I think the foreign NGOs in Turkey will try their best to support these protests. The problem is these protests are rooted in weakness of an objective. I mean what revolution has happened due a protest against a ban on alcohol? This is not about economic deprivation, or suppression of basic rights.

There was an interesting CNN special on this today. One very important thing that they mentioned was the most up to date polling shows Erdogan would win again by a landslide were elections to be held again.

This is the classic tactic of the militant secularists and autocrats - to subvert the will of the majority (Erdogan won repeatedly in transparent elections) when it doesn't suit their choice.

Basically secular democracy is their religion until they end up getting defeated. The same is going on with the black bloc in Egypt.

Take for instance the alcohol ban. Its air tight confirmed in contemporary sources in the early Islamic era and on exegetical texts that the consumption of it is forbidden.

Abdullah ibn Masud and the Prophet Muhammad before him meted out the lashings punishment for its consumers.

Or take a more solid example of estate and inheritance laws as defined by specific ayaahs.

It is illogical to say that Islam is a religion of ethics and spiritualism but not comment on the prescribed penal code that contemporary sources made clear were executed in full.

Or for that matter, the specifics of Islamic barter and trade and debt and interest have far reaching ramifications. Many an African will openly tell you that IMF funds and World Bank resources come attached with theoretically low interest rates that end up leaving nations in perpetual debt.

The Quran actually makes it clear that belief and spiritualism are not the sole basis for its religion. The word amanoo comes alongside amiloosalihaataay nearly everytime the former (belief) is mentioned (the latter means and good works).

There is also rebuke given to the Peoples of the Book for not adhering in their law and penal code to the prior revealed text pretty much obliterating the notion of a secular approach to specifically prescribed edicts.

I for the life of me cannot understand how the rural Turks can even tolerate these sick in the head Ataturkist zealots. Their mentality reflects very poor intellectual skill. So on the one hand the US can ban and punish marijuana possession and use and can have experimented with prohibition but a country whose denizens are Muslims are not permitted to pass law codes on alcohol? How absurd.

There is tons of footage of the 90s era where more than tear gas, but actual bullets are used on dissidents by the Turkish Ataturkian military. Back then, not a single one of these ataturkists shed a tear.

Erdogan has made Turkya once again a great nation respected around the world.
the kemalists are extremely intolerant people who want to deny the over 80% of
headscarfwearing wome their religious right and right to higher education.
this has been their tactic to stay in power with the blessing of the oppresive military.
Erdogan put the military in check and is moving the country back to freedom and prosperity.
The spring has already happend in Turkya and the revolution has been through ballots and Turks have chosen.

before Erdogan turkish economy was below nothing and its currency was worth ****.
The kemalists to raise their chances of joining EU banned women from wearing headscarf to public buildings while in EU women are free to wear headscarves. Thats why many Turks also emigrated to west to practice their freedom of religion and go to universities.
