WASHINGTON: India has "without question" legitimate interests in Afghanistan, the top American military commander for the region told US lawmakers on Tuesday, indicating a developing policy in Washington aimed at reconciling New Delhi's stakes and Pakistani concerns in cooling the situation in the war-torn country.

The General has earlier said the same thing about Pakistan. And he just recently warned that the Afghan war may intensify in the coming months. If all these neighboring countries and regional powers have legitimate stakes in Afghanistan, undoubtedly it is inevitable that the war will intensify.

Yes, if they make our area into a continued battlefield then we are in the same problems of the 90s. This is primarily the fault of Pashtuns(Afghans), and their lack of political maneuvering. They don`t know how to set up a proper set of political interests. In principle, we should welcome all positive investment whether it comes from India, Saudi, Pakistan, US, etc. However, these things come with a price. I don`t want Afghanistan or Pashtunkhwa to be destabilized because of further proxy wars.

Pakistan is a country. When we speak in such terms, we speak about the government. Not the people. People cannot act in a unified fashion as "pakistan". But the government of Pakistan does have anti-Islamic agenda. It is run by hypocrites who do not implement shari'ah and allow all sorts of crime and corruption. And they obey their masters in Washington and massacre thousands of innocent muslims.

Pashtuns have every available oppurtunity that any Punjabi has. They make up 1/4 of the Military of Pakistan and almost half now of the ISI. Pakistani Pashtun are the forefront of Pakistan's involvement in Afghanistan, not Punjabis.

Pakistani Pashtuns know Pashto - what Afghans and West Pakistanis speak. Pakistani Pashtuns know Afghan language, culture and traditions; thus Pakistani Pasthuns are more naturally disposed toward Afghani lifestyle. A Punjabi, does not posess similar traits, thats why Pakistani Pashtun in ISI are at the forefront in the involvement in Afghanistan.
