I think economy and trade is the way to go. Afghanistan and Pakistan in particular should establish very tight relations with each other based on open border policy and visa-free trade arrangement. Moreover, they should establish close relations with China and India that are going to be the world top economies in the coming decades surpassing US and other developed countries.Originally posted by Friend View PostI am not a student of economics though my field is different but if you see the location of Pakistan it can do wonders if it comes out of the international politics and war like situation.
The Gawadar, its border with China and with Afghanistan to central Asian land lock countries. Its hard working man power, coastal, tourism, agriculture, minerals, relations with India and much more.
Pakistan has to potential to make its position in the top economies in the future but that all depends on sincere administration and geo political situation of the region especially relations with its neighbors.
Afghanistan should look towards south (to South Asia) and west (towards Middle East) than north (Central Asia). That will be good for Pashtuns as well.
Overall, Muslim countries should start looking east---because as we notice South Asia and East Asia are emerging economic hubs ---Philipines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. are going to rise to the top of the list of top economies---they are rising like no country rose before.
But only clean-shaven ones have the skills to do that---not the bearded Taleban the curse of the earth who are trying to undermine Muslim societies.Last edited by Toramana; 09-23-2012, 03:16 PM.

You are right we have to look at other side now, in this regard Pakistan has started as the Russian president's tour to Pakistan is a major development then relations with India etc, it seems Pakistan wants to decrease its too much reliance on America.Originally posted by Toramana View PostI think economy and trade is the way to go. You talked about taliban, well taliban is the result of the circumstances. You can't deny this fact. Taliban is the voice of the suppressed. They can only be merged in the system if peace and harmony is brought in the region especially in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
But this is not a big issue. the real issues are others. We have to identify the black sheep. The black sheep are the real threat to the peace and economy of the region.

But the above list is not an exclusive list of trillion dollars economies. It only lists SOME trillion dollar economies. There obviously will be many other trillion dollars economies. Interesting on the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...e_GDP_(nominal) are the tables related to GDP milestones (when a country reached or will reach one or two or three, etc. trillion dollars milestones) and GDP projections for the year 2050 and other years before 2050. Some projections are as late as of 2011.
Again, this is not fixed e.g., 2 trillion dollars GDP milestone was projected for India in 2014 but it achieved that in 2012.
Also, there may be technical terms we don't understand to interpret the material correctly.Last edited by Toramana; 09-23-2012, 04:32 PM.

To counter the asian economies of the future mainly China, America would combine with Western European and possible some of the eastern european economies. The West is already combining Western Europe and annexing some of the eastern europe as well into one unit. It looks like Pakistan and the rest of the middle east would be used as pawns between the Western leader(the US) and the Eastern leader(China).
