this was the question. are you telling me that the root of the blasphemy laws in muslim societies today, is the abc books given to the children in afghanistan?Originally posted by faye View Postso what is with all the calling for murder of cartoonists and book writers/burners for blasphemy, by muslims. in afghanistan and pakistan this burning of qua'ran has been a big deal, even when the qur'ans had been faultily printed or when the paper was to be recycled. someone uses allahs name in vain?
the other thing you posted, was blaming past religions/societies or something. these don't answer the question.

your avoiding the question which you accuse me of doing where in reality I answer your questions all the time but I know your trolling and preventing a real discussion about what the thread is about.Originally posted by faye View Postdoesn't your religion answer these questions for you?

Sure it does, the blasphemy law is a founders myth, it is not indegenous to the region, it was imported by colonialist powers.Originally posted by faye View Postthis was the question. are you telling me that the root of the blasphemy laws in muslim societies today, is the abc books given to the children in afghanistan?

Any honest academic would tell you that the colonial era has had a dramatic and negative effect on the society in question here. Mans ignorance is the root, but that ignorance is encouraged by these forces like those "ABC books" and the laws and rulers that the colonialist powers left behind and then supported to this day. These societies should realize that their current ignorant mentalities are not indegenous mentalities but are foreign.
Free societies work like free markets, if left alone, they correct themselves.
It will take decades perhaps centuries for these societies to get out of its misery because they are not left alone.

It's part of sharia. it may not be part of quran or even hadiths, but the fact is muslims jurists of the past made this part of sharia law, so you can't really blame americans for it. It is the radical muslims who should be blamed, who have always twisted Islamic teachings for their own ways

Description of Appeal to Authority
An Appeal to Authority is a fallacy with the following form:
Person A is (claimed to be) an authority on subject S.
Person A makes claim C about subject S.
Therefore, C is true.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
