somalia has no geopolitical importance. if anyone wanted to occupy somalia, it would be occupied already.
if the somalis didnt create a horrible ran nation, they wouldnt need food aid. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I disagree, the horn of Africa certainly is of geostrategic value. Maybe the Somali government are in control of parts of the capital. However it's simply not safe to distribute aid or even to move around the country. As Somalia is in a complete state of anarchy.Originally posted by randolph85 View Postsomalia has no geopolitical importance. if anyone wanted to occupy somalia, it would be occupied already.

I know that the Somalis are seemingly favour the creation of a secular government. However I have know idea how this might happen. The AU/UN are completely useless and short of air dropping aid to the worst effected areas. I don't see what can be done. Africa is massive overpopulated and their are over a billion people in Africa. However it's a very arid, content and it simply can't support it's present population.Afghan Loghari dance- Homayoun Sakhi, Salar Nader & Mariam - YouTube

somalis in favor of a secular government? lol i think u may be confusing somalis with ethiopians. if somalia were an important country, there would be international efforts to stabilize it instead of contain it. even its arab neighbors don't care about somalia. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. geopolitical importance is all that matters to the powers who run the world, not lives.
as bad as afghanistan is, its nowhere near as bad as somalia. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. I have met many Somalis in my time but never a secularist.
On the whole they are very strict religous people and good Sunni Muslims.
The area I used to live in the majority ethnicity was Somalis.
Never once heard any wanting a secular government.
If there was a choice they would pick an Islamic state hands down.
Where did you get that info from?
edit: Even in the west for example you will rarely see a Somali woman who is not wearing a hijab and long robes. Even the girls wear long skirts to school. Props to them for keeping their culture/religion alive. The kids will have finished the Qu'ran while they are still kids (and every Somalian I know can speak their own language). I always see Somalis filling up the mosque. Almost all the Somalis I know agree with Shariah. Many pray 5 times daily. Perhaps some Somalians in isolated communities especially in America may advocate a secular state but I can assure you the majority of the Somali community are strict Muslims and would almost certainly want an Islamic state. And that's just in London. I'm sure in Somalia they are even more religious and conservative. So I don't get how they 'seemingly favour the creation of a secular government'.....Last edited by Haris; 07-28-2011, 09:14 PM.---

The West isn't the root cause of all of lifes problems and you are not being even remotely reasonable. The US produces 50% of the world grain and most of the worlds corn. What exactly does Afghanistan produce and export other than opium and just how much grain are you intending to send to Somalia?Originally posted by AshrafGhaljay View PostThese frikins ****s are trying to force Somalia to accept occupation.

Without oil, the world simply won't be able to produce fertilizers and process/transport, any where near the same volumes food, as it did in the past. The West has been forced to buy oil at market values.
Killing people for OIL is terrorism, and deserves to be rooted and stamped out. Such geopolitical terrorism is a crime, and must be finished.
Do not promote geopolitical terrorism here, and say hello to China,

The East will always control the OIL. OIL is running out for the west. Prices are being HIKED up by OPEC (Iran, Arab countries, and Russia).
The SCO (China) is the new boss of the globe.
Accept it or live in denial, it does not matter anymore.
Learn Chinese, that geopolitical terrorism era is over LOLLast edited by Guest; 07-28-2011, 10:08 PM.

im stating reality for you to hear. Clean that wax out of your ears, or get better glasses. Look around you.
People want to talk geopolitics, well here is geopolitics. China can not be challenged at this stage. Why? Because they are smart, and not looking for wars.
They will invest their billions in other countries, and have mutually beneficial friendships.
They do want to steal OIL, that is why they are TOP DOG now.
Learn from them.
They spread their influence through smart mutually beneficial business investments (investing in copper and gold in Africa). They seem to have understood clearly the benefits of not trying to steal.
Remember these people had to fight and win the Opium wars .
These people know what tyranny and theft is. They know what geopolitical terrorism is.
Im glad because there is a new order of how the world works, and it won't be with wars.
Maybe there will be economic warfare, and China will enslave those who threaten others with war.
But thats peaceful war.

so u have no problem with them dominating muslim xinjiang by force and slaughtering their opposition there?
china can not be challenged because they are a growing power. because they are not stupid enough to live in real world ignorance like some movements...There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. I wacthed a documentary on TV around a month ago and they were interviewing Somali tribal elders/warlords. The Somalis may well be religous. However Somalia's Islamic courts system has seemingly all but turned the country into a lawless, dystopian state.Originally posted by Haris View PostI have met many Somalis in my time but never a secularist.

12 million people in the country are suffering from famine in the Horn of Africa and your Somali Islamist cronies are undermining relief efforts.
Somalia is the Horn of Africa country worst affected by a prolonged drought, that has put some 12 million people in danger of starvation and spurred a global fund-raising campaign.
Nearly half of Somalia’s estimated 10 million people are in need of relief assistance, owing to the effects of the relentless violence and the drought that prompted the UN to declare famine for the first time this century.
The WFP said it hoped relief efforts would not be impacted by the fighting.
“The offensive and the increased security has potential severe implications,” said WFP spokesman David Orr, speaking from Mogadishu.
“Our local partners who are transporting and distributing the food may be affected, but we are still hoping that most if not all operations will still be going ahead as planned.”
Meanwhile member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference gathered in Istanbul Thursday to coordinate an emergency response to the devastating drought.
The head of the OIC called on warring Somali factions “to immediately stop all hostilities during the holy month of Ramadan and to allow access to all humanitarian actors without distinction whatsoever so as to enable them to freely reach out to all the needy populations.”
The OIC has a humanitarian assistance office in the Somali capital Mogadishu and is one of the rare bodies allowed to operate in Somalia by Al-Shabaab rebels.
