    Ultra,

China has nothing to betray Pakistan about. Betray how? Pakistan is important for China as far as its containment of India is concerned and its geography if it can serve as conduit to the Arabian occean maily for its import of oil and to export there. The second still seems light years for it to materialise. Economically and strategically Pakistan has no other usage for China.

Pakistan needs to look inwards towards building its institutions and economy. It is wasting too much money buying all these toys.

Islamabad has been hit many times. It was hit during the bin laden raid as well being hit in FATA by drones on a regular basis. China does not have the capacity to challenge the US, not yet anyways. Once we see China getting back its Taiwan, only then will China's words matter. But until then their words are meaningless as the words of ANP leaders.

China's relationship with Pakistan is to counter India, that is all.

For all its closeness to China, I would love to see figures of Chinese companies investing in Pakistan. Amount of investment, no. of Pakistani employees, taxes paid to GoP etc. I bet American companies have invested more in Pakistan than Chinese.

What Pakistan needs to do is to use the relationship to its own advantage. It should diversify its relations and foreign policy as much as it can and not truncate itself in power play of powerful nations which will keep it only beholden to itself and design its relations with it (Pakistan) in a way that it is constrained through option and can only look to him. Pakistan can only prosper within its natural region - that is through trade with India and Afghanistan and beyond. It needs to revist its economic policy and look at things through long-term trajectory and place its economy above everything. Its needs to do what China is doing, China has $35bn trade with India. I know it is looking more west-ward towards Afghanistan and CAS, where again the first to not want it and is abit averse to its influence is China, not to mention how the geo-politics and Afghanistan's relation with India can antagonise it and strain its relations with Afghanistan then in turn. Pakistan needs to place a more harmoneous approach and relax itself, it will be in its utmost interest.

Give Chinese the money they will shoot you a missile in to the space too.
China does not provide financial aid to any country in the world, they provide assistance (financial and technical).

I personally think that US would not risk attacking Pakistan, Pakistan is too populated , it would cause more problems after destabilisation.

So they would stick to drone attacks and keep pressure on the Pakistani govt, as the govt and army is dependent on the US and they have no other option but to work with them

Yes ok, thanks for the Chinese policy update. But can it not assist massively beyond the nebulous couple of projects here and there? I mean come it can invest in Pakistan or help its important sectors through assistance and expertise and give it access in to its wilder economy. That I would call brotherly and strategic allies.

Last year 30 billion USD of deals were signed , during this tour of Gillani they signed trade deals of 15 billion USD.

China is also helping in transportation ,mining etc. There are free trade agreements and Pakistani military is also getting most of its hardware from china.

What 30bn, that was like a hoax, seriously. When is the benifit of the that going to trickle. I haeard Pakistani army had run out of hard cash to pay the soldiers whose families were hungry for two months, untill at last when the partial amount from US aid arrived.

Can you provide some background information of those 30bn if you can please. I remeber reading it last year... but it wasn't really disclosed what it was about.

Once again China-Pakistan economic relationship will remain nebulous and un-important as far as its relation with US is concerned. No immediate relief which Pakistan needs.

America gives aid in cash to Pakistan. But China is clever, they never do that. They rather give assistance and help them in different projects.

lol about the trade deal, esapxai. After US it is Afghanistan that is your second largest export market, not even EU or any other country. You don't need to have a conrtact for Chinses imports, it will come your way.
