Gully, her parents had/have a paper plate making business... They r very rich now.

Kates, family tree revealed that her family were coal miners/gave coal to the royal family, which was kinda like a low class peasant occupation. Funny now she is married into royalty. Lol.

            You could be right.
I got the impression from the one article I saw a long time ago
that her parents are usual middle class types.
            Nothing particularly outstanding about them.

The conversation degenerated into social chat here - people should really take
that outside the thread to Hujra threads.

But Gulalai's comment about the gigantic cost of the wedding is
            the most relevant.
From where did the struggling UK get this money??

Finally, because it IS a state wedding, not a private one,
the bride SHOULD dress the right way - more modestly - for those "2 billion" viewers.

So people do have a right to comment about details of her attire or any other aspect.
Glad it didn't happen in the US - what a terrific waste of good money that could go to
            help war victims' families.
Catya sher khor, lol the money is tax payers money , like Alchemist wror said to me " kakargirl lol hope you enjoyed the wedding cos you paid for it "all tax payers money was spent so william and kate can walk the isle.

everyone was saying her dress is GORGEOUS... i saw it it's not that great. i mean it's nice but i've seen better looooool but of course it's a princess wedding LOL i find it funny :D
Why not see it? It's something different =)

I liked her dress, I've always liked wedding gowns that have pleats .. and yeah I guess it wasn't all sparkly and glittery? I believe that's what some people were looking for ... or something else. Hers was I guess was toned down and more elegant with the embroidery.

because they are all over the "news" - this stuff should be locked in
a fashion/society column, not forced on the general public !

The dress was not appropriate with the low front - that wasn't necessary at all,
but a risque touch to appear to look "sexy" on her part or the ideas of the designers.
Maybe they felt she looked a little too "normal/ everyday" and jazzed it up with
                the plunging neckline.

The TIARA was AWFUL - tasteless, especially for the wife of the heir to the throne - IF he ever gets there. I have my doubts.
Her veil was BIZARRE too - ugly. Not princess-like but weird !

He looks like a dud - no one would want to marry HIM except for the dazzling
attention-getting prospect of becoming a "royal".
His face is SO blah, as if there's nobody home there.

Imagine being married to someone like that ? I don't envy her -
but the reason WHY so many people like to see this type of thing
is that for a moment, they picture themselves in that role and
get caught up in the supposed glamour.

For that reason I think it's better to avoid reading or looking at any of this
wedding hype. It's geared to creating such illusions; so is really not healthy.

If they say 2 billion, too, how do they REALLY know that ?
I bet someone said "let's just put down that figure which will sound good and
                no one can question us".
                I don't believe it myself.

Hopefully now the world can get on to truly important subjects, like the wars
                in Afghanistan, Libya etc.

Lol Honestly, compared to the way most people dress now a days I didn't think the neckline was plunging that much, but then again I didn't pay attention to that.

I am not sure what the way he looks like has to do with any of this haha ... but everyone has different taste :D

I also honestly don't think everyone wanted to watch so they could place themselves in her shoes /his shoes for a moment, but then again that is just my take.

There will always be happy and awful things going on in the world.. I guess as long as we remember both and move forward it'd do us some good?

When i came home exhausted from work, i just turned the tv on and tada it was on the channel....so i watched it for 30 minutes.

I really liked her wedding gown, nice and simple......and OMG!!! It had sleeves. About 80% of wedding dresses in the west does not have sleeves....so to see hers was a relief. She looked beautiful, i love how she went for the modest bridal look.

And i feel sorry for those tax payers....i guess each plate they had for the guest at the reception was close to $300/each.

lol Manzerah, aahh unlukily I never got to know her when she lived there, you never know I could have claimed something.

Any way, I don't know for how long she lived near Norwood Green since she was born there, I lived and went to school in the area too, in late 90's.

"When she was 11 she acquired a brother, Gary, in 1965 and a year later the family moved to their first proper house in Kingsbridge Road, Norwood Green where they then remained for 25 years.

Carole joined BOAC as an air stewardess where she met and fell in love with Michael Middleton, a fellow steward five years older than her. On January 9 1982, Kate Middleton was born, five months before the birth of her fiancee Prince William.
