Pak test fires Cruise Missile Hatf-VII

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Thursday conducted a successful test of the indigenously developed Cruise Missile Hatf-VII (Babur) having a range of 600 kms.

The missile tests are part of a process of validating the system. Babur, which can carry strategic and conventional warheads, has stealth capabilities, is a low flying, terrain hugging missile with high maneuverability, pin point accuracy and radar avoidance features.

It also incorporates the modern cruise missile technology of Terrain Contour Matching (TERCOM) and Digital Scene Matching & Area Co-relation (DSMAC).

The test was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shamim Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Jamil Haider, Chairman NESCOM Muhammad Irfan Burney, senior officers from the armed forces and strategic organizations, scientists and engineers.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee reiterated that the test will go a long way in consolidating Pakistan’s strategic deterrence capability, and further strengthening national security.

Pakistan’s resolve and commitment to continue its strategic programme will remain paramount, he added.

The successful test has also been warmly appreciated by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, who have congratulated the scientists and engineers on their outstanding success.

i seriously doubt the accuracy of these missiles. if these missiles had good guidance systems, they could just use these in the tribal areas instead of relying on air power and american drones.

when it comes to ballistic missiles, big or small, the guidance systems cost more to develop than the actual missile and its payload.

Accuracy is real. Cruise missiles are expensive and are only intended for FIXED MILITARY installations. Note the guidance system on them, they are prior inputs and not real time like air/drone strikes. Unless you want even more 'collateral' damage 'live' strikes are the way to go. Plus no one is going to use a million dollar system on guerrilla warriors.

its like saying, Saudi's king abdullah bought a fighter jet.... seriously? does that even make a difference? he doesn't have a ghairat of a size of peanut (like pakistan)... so having all of this is not going to affect anything.

think of worse scenario, these hypocrite country called Pakistan, will more likely use these missles on Muslims!
