Re: which Islam sect to be followed

The major problem is which sect offers an explanation which is in accordance with modern sciences and offers solutions to human problems.Based on this criteria there is no need even to look for this sect or that sect.

Anything which is claimed to be "religeous" should be cross checked.

There is no such thing as blind faith.Blind faith neither benefits you in this world [as you do not understand it and hence cannot apply it on practical life] nor in the life hereafter [as that life is the output of inputs in this life].I hope it helps.

I do not know how can people follow this joker. The whole explanation was self contradictory.

        Note the following:

        1) He recites the ayat 'watasimo bi hablilah.....' incorrectly in order to answer the query "which sect is correct?".He then points to Quran to call it Hablulah while later he adds hadith to the meaning of hablullah too. This is his interpretation. Most of the scholars have concensus that hablullah just means Quran.

        2) He says that if any explanation is against Qurran and Sahih Hadith then it should be rejected even if its the quote of any of the leaders of juristic schools. Now the question is how will he decide whether something is against Quran or Hadith, for example ,or not.It should be known that it was answering the same question that the jurists developed a difference of opinion otherwise none of them were dating the same girl that they had these differences.

        I give you one example:
It is the same Quran referring to which one school believes that Islam support socialist system of economy while the other says it supports capitalist system.
One says Quran is pro-evolution while the other says it is pro-creation.
One says that democracy is Islamic term while the other argues that it is not only un islamic but also shirk.
One says there are no Salat and Zakat as such in Quran they just mean the socio -economic system while the other says they are fixed rituals.
        and so on....

Dr Naik just narrates an Ayat and assumes that his explanation is not subject to criticism and agreed upon and hence takes it right by default. While it is the interpretation of these ayat and others which led to difference in opinion.

In Pakistan ,religion has become even more important and that is why we see 9 bombs in one day [12 march 2010] in lahore such that the killed and the killer are both candidates for jannat and the killers have even got the certificate to jannat duly attested by their local ISI-backed Taliban Amir to avoid any ambiguity.

It is ,therefore ,suggested that,as I mentioned earlier, the only thing we are left with is something which any body can test anywhere and any time and that is science. If anyone has got any better solution I would like to know.

Let me add one important point about such posts.

These types of posts are normally posted by Pakistani agents to polarise and divide Pakhtun community.Religion is the best tool to divide a nation.Exploiter class in Pakistan has always used this tool.I do not want to go into details.Today one of the reasons Pakhtuns are not united are due to religion, though both the Pakhtun mulla as well as nationalist know it that our freedom and resources are being jeopardised and exploited by Punjab.

I asked an Ismaili about this. He said they're happy that "our Imam lives in the 21st century" with his Western get-up and what not...

Moreover, in Islam, being wealthy isn't considered evil at all.... In Christianity, wealth is frowned upon.. but we have examples of Usman ibn Affan, Hasan ibn Ali, etc, etc who were rich but also 'pious'.

By the way, to add to their achievements, the Agha Khanis also run perhaps one of the top medical universities in all of South Asia - the Agha Khan University

Their schools and universities are very reputable.

I would quite happily work them. Does your Ismaili friend have any "wasta"?

Pir Rokhana, I couldn't agree more. I ALWAYS wonder what makes Naik think that the way he interprets the Quran, the conclusions HE makes from Quranic verses (or hadiths) is THE conclusion, is THE only way, is THE correct way. He doesn't realize that those same verses could be used to mean even the opposite and that almost each verse in the Quran has a *context* -- but, nooo, try saying that to him. What I don't understand is he thinks he's LOGICAL! :| WHERE is logic?! What does he call logic? I wonder if he's taking ANY philosophy and/or logic courses at all.

Pir Rokhan has *every* right to disagree with Zakir Naik, and he's even provided some excellent reasons. Try to refute his *reasons* instead of bashing him for not preferring Zakir Naik.
I don't agree with over 97% of the things that Zakir Naik preaches either. I, too, think this guy has NO logic, NO reasonable bases whatsoever; in fact, I've yet to meet an intelligent Muslim who LIKES Zakir Naik or agrees with him at all. I wish I'd meet one so that I can try to see what's so important about this Naik dude. Note who his audience

Let's learn how to debate, wrora, and try to avoid insulting each other just because they're fond of the people we're fond of. We learn more that way.

Being a Durranai, I am quite a smart Pashtun not a garbage face, trust me.I enjoyed your childish emotions. Now when I said that Zakir Naik is a moron I gave my arguments. He might have done a lot for Islam in your opinion but it does not prove that he is some genius as the world doesnot go by your opinion.
Yes you are rigth ,my family has not done anything for Islam neither intends to do I have left this to your family and you.
I am more interested in contributing to Pukhtunwali which is my philosphy of life. And if you come to my house you will be my guest. As far as beating me is concerned so that is a probability eqal to zero even if you come with your whole tribe. However to ring the bells in the vicinity of your grey matter, may I opine that beating me or anyone will not refute those arguments which I have presented or for example people like Ali Sina has raised to challenge all these Naiks and Khalnaiks. His challenge is on faithfreedom.com.

Now come to the last point.I have these questions for you and others:
                            • How long will we Pukthuns be running after other nations and people and defending them and fighting for them?
When will we realise our own interest, ouir own heroes.
                              Why
our brains have lost the balls to challenge the academia of the world.?

Think over it.Let us put an end to this breaking jaws business and fighting like dogs.
Lets start thinking and do something great to make our life worth living.

                            Shalom

                                Whoa, there! Calm down, man!
