I meant the scientists, I myself didn't know half of their names to be honest, neither do most people I know. Like how it was the Muslims who came up with algebra, pulmonary circulation, astronomy and all the rest of it. The discovery of the world being round, rather than flat, is credited to Christopher Columbus.

If a person was born in a muslim family and he turned out to be a scientist it was due to his genes and environment and not due to his religion as religion talks about metaphysics [God,Life after death,Prophethood,Ethics etc ] and not about physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, geography, medicine and engineering etc

Religion can inspire or motivate. Whatever their genes, they're Muslim.

I meant it in the sense how many (in the west), are ignorant of the contributions of Muslims to the World, apart from 'terrorism'.

Religion inspires to act morally and appreciate a higher source of knowledge not the knowledge itself.Had this been the case every other muslim would be a scientist.

Terrorism was a political slogan not existent anymore. Global War on Terroism [GWT] is over with George W Bush [GWB].

There is no Muslim Ummah any more.It is just a slogan to safeguards one national interests.Every nation has to find her way out to peace , progress and prosperity.

The so called Muslim scientists were mostly Arabs who achieved that status due to availability of freedom of thought , research , criticism and development when Arabs were in power. When your nation gives these rights to the world a lot of such scientists will be born in your nation too.

If it was due to Islam that those muslims were born , then Islam is there in more organised and established form in muslim countries specialy arab countries now but we see these arab states still have monarchies even in 21st centuries.

Agreed. And many Muslim scentists were deviants. Some of them even disbelieved.

Religion, i.e. Islam, also teaches and encourages to seek knowledge and to educate oneself.

I don’t mean to say they’re Islamic figures, only that the West should know there’s more to us. Muslims, or even Arabs (of that era), were not illiterate camel herders, as the stereotype goes.

As muslims we should be concerned with what allah thinks of us. We need recognition from allah.

The west is at war with us, they bomb us, kill our women and children, and you are worried about recognition for muslim scientists in the west?
