Well lets me logical here. We are in 2010 and abu this and abu are only associated with sucide bombings and beheadings. those glory days of Islam are way gone and past.
I’ll be honest with you Maseed, you stun me over and over. Was it not 2010 when you went off at me for wearing high heels because they attract men’s attention? Was it not 2010 when you went off at me when I expressed my liking for short sleeve shirts? On the one hand, you’re among the few that is quick to ridicule any Islamic ruling, and on the other, where your interest lies, you advance your argument by saying it is God’s words?

That ruling doesn’t apply to everything. Clearly, you are making a mockery of it. Or have serious issues with sticking to a certain stance on a certain issue. Wearing short sleeves in your opinion is a product of the civilised world, and now, you're saying that Arab dress code is a threat to the same civilised world which lacks morality and modesty, the same values you desired the Taliban to advance in certain areas of Pakistan? It's really twisted if you ask me.

I am aware, but here is where your misconception lies. Neither is Islam a fashion nor trend that is moulded based on society’s interests and desires. Unlike every other religion, which is either founded or revised or changed, in Islam, we still refer to the authentic sources so change in rulings is not something you and I decide to serve our personal interests.

Refraning from the habits of the people of the Jahilliyah period so as to not be associated and seen in the same light as them is not Jahiltob. If anything is Jahiltob, it is doing the prohibited act and finding any opportunity to justify it.

If it is civilised, then a pagan Arab culture shouldn’t be a threat to the superiority of your civilised world. Islam isn’t a culture designed to parallel the West’s superiority as is the common misconception. It is a religion, based on monotheism, and fashion, outdated clothes, physical issues are the last of a Mu’mins concerns.

(behavedMaseed muslim dont agree on hadith and imam bukhari was the only one to collect hadith not sahaba or tabaeen response to this munkir hadith and his gang )
BehavedMaseed (Quraniat or munkir hadith) the prophet alehi salam says in a hadith ) there will come a person who will say whatever you find in Quran take that as halal and whatever is haram take that .. then prophet says my order is the same what I tell you haram is haram what i tell you is halal is halal and from now donkeys are haram). So the Prophet alehi salam has already told us that qurani will come will and they will say Quran Quran .. (agents of kufar). These modernist wants to change Islam so the first thing they want to do is attack the hadiths by rejecting it in different ways . I know your waste of time but still i would do this for the sake of Allah that you might become a Muslim. Status of sunnah in Islam.
        (1) First is the Prophet don’t lie and don’t make mistakes when spreading the religion of Allah. Allah swt says in his book sura Al Haqaa ... 37) So I swear by whatsoever you see, (38) And by whatsoever you see not, (39) That this is verily the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibril (Gabriel) or Muhammad SAW which he has brought from Allâh]. (40) It is not the word of a poet, little is that you believe! (41) Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! (42) This is the Revelation sent down from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists). (43) And if he (Muhammad SAW) had forged a false saying concerning Us (Allâh swt), (44) We surely would have seized him by his right hand (or with power and might), (45) And then we certainly would have cut off his life artery (Aorta), (46) And none of you could witheld Us from (punishing) him. (47
What dose these aya shows that Prophet don’t lie and whatever he is telling you is coming from Allah. Sura Najim ayat 1 to 3.. (1) Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. (2) Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. (3)
So the Prophets are to be obeyd .

(2)Second proof is that Allah swt might could have send this book in mountain people would have found it and read it and live life according to it what was the need of Prophets? Allah swt has Always chosed the Prophets to communicate with people not directly. Allah swt says in his book ,Sura Nisa ayat 64 . We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by Allah’s Leave. why did Allah send Prophets? That we look at them how they pray fast and put it into practise if you don’t put it into practise what is the need of these Prophets? All the prophets has same mission to be obeyed. Prophets in the past commanded for the People to Obey them:

Nuh (as) - "So fear Allah, and obey me." (Qur'an 26:108)
Hud (as) - "So fear Allah and obey me." (Qur'an 26:126)
Salih (as) - "So fear Allah, and obey me." (Qur'an 26:144)
Lut (as) - "So fear Allah and obey me." (Qur'an 26:163)
Shu'ab (as) - "So fear Allah and obey me." (Qur'an 26:179)
Isa bin Maryam (as) - "...therefore fear Allah and obey me." (Qur'an 43:63)

(3)Third proof .. the sahaba obeying Rasoolullah saws while Quran was releaved and Allah didn’t revealed a single ayat to forbid them from obeying, on the opposite Allah swt warned them of not obeying.like sura al emran Allah swt repriminding them of not obeying the Prophet alehi salam in war of Uhud.So when Allah and his Prophet alehi salam are silent of a issue meaning they are happy or Allah swt would have revealed ayats to stop them from obeying. And what dose Allah swt says about sahaba. Sura al Baqara ayat 137 .. So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allâh will suffice for you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. (137) so by obeying the Prophets they are guided and people to whom we look as role models.
(4)proof..are the verses in Quran which proof to you that you must follow the Prophet alehi salam (a)firs cagatory of ayats . where Allah swt says believe in the Prophet ( mohamad Rasoolulah) meaning have eman on the Prophet . So now what is eman? Meaning of eman is to believe the more you obey him more you have eman in you .what he tells you to do you do it what he stops you from you stop the more you obey more you have eman in you. (b) (43) With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW) the Dhikr [the reminder and the advice (the Qur'ân)], that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought. (sura nahl ayat 44) in this verse Allah says you explain to them the book. so if his explanation was not needed what did Allah say it so?so the main goal of the Prophet alehi salam is to explain the book. (c)Allah swt says in his book he revealed quran with it something else as well . (anzalaho al kitab wal hikmah) kitab is quran and hikmah is the Sunnah of Prophet alehi salam. So the sunnah is also part of islam. (d) ayats where Allah orders to obey the Prophet alehi salam . 13 - These are the limits set by God. And those who follow the commandments of God and the messenger will be admitted to gardens with streams of water running by, wherein they abide forever. This is the greatest triumph. Those who disobey God and the messenger and transgress His limits will be admitted to a fire and abide there forever and shall have a humiliating punishment 59 - O you who believe! Obey God and obey His messenger and those charged with authority among you. If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to God and His messenger, if you do believe in God and the Last Day. That is best and the most suitable for final determination.. (sura nisa) Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger, but if you turn away, Allah loves not the disbelievers. (Surat Ali Imraan 3:32) And obey Allah and the Messenger so that you may be blessed. (Surat Ali Imraan 3:132) So fear Allah and set things right between you, and obey Allah and His Messenger if you are (in truth) believers. (Suratul Anfaal 8:1) O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not make your deeds vain. (Surat Muhammad 47:33) And if you obey him (the Prophet, sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam), you shall find the right path. (Suratun-Nur 54) And establish regular prayer and pay the poor-due and obey the Prophet so that you may be blessed. (Suratun-Nur 24:56)

On that day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger will wish that the earth might be leveled with them. (Suratun-Nisaa 4:42)

The reason that the obedience of the Messenger (alehi salam) is not always mentioned with Allahs obedience is given in the Quran, itself:

And whoever obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah. (Suratun-Nisaa 4:80)

Obedience to the Prophet (alehi salam) does not mean that the people who were present at the time of the prophethood of Allahs Final Messenger (alehi salam) were to obey him only, but the obedience of the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) is a commandment for all of mankind and for all times. The Quran and Islam are for all people of all times and if obedience to the Messenger (alehi salam) was meant for only his time, then it would mean that the Quran and Islam were also only meant for one time. But the Quran refutes this idea:

Say: O mankind! Indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you allso believe in Allah and His Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write and who believes in Allah and in His Words and follow him so that you may be led aright. (Suratul Araaf 7:158)

Obeying the Prophet (alehi salam) is obeying Allah as stated in verse 4:80 of the Quran. The Quran states:

Nor does he (the Prophet, sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) speak of (his own) desire. It is naught but an inspiration that is inspired, which one of mighty powers has taught him. (Suratun-Najm 53:3-5)

The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) received two types of revelation from Allah. The first type is called al wahy al matluw, which means the recited revelation and this refers to the Holy Quran, which is the Speech of Allah. Another issue that needs attention is the role that the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) was sent to play. Was he sent to merely deliver the Quran to the people without explaining or teaching them anything about it? Was his only job to hand over the Book and let the people do whatever they wanted with it? Was his role like that of a mailman? The answer is clearly a no and this answer is supported with Allahs Words. In fact, Ibrahim (alaiyhis-salaam) prayed:

Our Lord! Raise in their midst a messenger from among themselves who recites to them Your verses and teaches them the Book and the Wisdom and purifies them. (Suratul Baqarah 2:129)

Allah answered his prayer and He says in His Book about the Final Messenger (alehi salam):

Allah has surely blessed the believers with His favor when He raised in their midst a Messenger from among themselves, who recites to them the Book and the wisdom, while they were, before, in plain error. (Surat Ali Imraan 3:164)

He is the One Who raised up, among the unlettered, a Messenger from among themselves who recites the verses of Allah and makes them pure and teaches them the Book and the Wisdom. (Suratul Jumuah 62:2)

In these verses, Allah describes the role of the Prophet (alehi salam) and why he was sent and what he is to accomplish. The Prophet (alehi salam) was given the following responsibilities:

        1. To recite the verses of Allah.
        2. To teach the Book of Allah.
        3. To teach the Wisdom.
        4. To make the people pure.

So the Quran clearly tells us that the Prophet (alehi salam) is not to merely recite and hand over the Quran to the people without helping them gain its benefits and without helping them understand it. He is required to recite the Book, teach it, explain its wisdom, and through it, make the people pure by teaching them how to apply it. The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) is the authority on how the Quran is recited. He is the only one who can interpret it. He is the only one who can provide the wisdom of the Quran to the people through divine guidance and he is entrusted with the training of the people to bring his teachings into practice.

Say: Obey Allah and obey the Messenger; then if you turn away, upon him rests what is laid on him and upon you rests what is laid on you. If you obey him, you will be guided. (Suratun-Nur 24:54)

And we sent no messenger, but that he should be obeyed by the leave of Allah. (Suratun-Nisaa 4:64)

Verse 64 of Suratun-Nisaa, above, proves furthermore that the Final Messenger (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) must be obeyed because every prophet was sent to guide their people and it was required upon the people to follow and obey him by the will of Allah. Messengers are the spokesmen of Allah. People cannot obey Allah until they obey the prophets. And when they obey the prophet, they must also follow him and put into action the obedience:

Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. (Surat Ali Imraan 3:31)

Believe then, in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be on the right path. (Suratul Araaf 7:157)

There is indeed a good example for you in the Messenger of Allah for the one who hopes (to meet) Allah and the Hereafter, and remembers Allah much. (Suratul Ahzaab 33:21)

If it was not required for the people to follow the Prophet (alehi salam) then it would have been an impossible task for him to reform and purify them. If someone studies a certain subject such as medicine, but they dont do any hands-on work to gain experience, he cannot start working as a doctor immediately with no supervision, risking the lives of his patients. He must be working under the supervision of experienced doctors. In the same way, the people cannot be given the Book of Allah only. Along with it, they must be given a teacher to teach them the Books instructions and duties. They must have a teacher to teach them and set an example for them on how to apply the Quran.

The Arabs were much more familiar with the language of the Quran as well as its eloquent style than us. They received the verses of the Quran directly from the Prophet (alehi salam) and witnessed its revelation. Yet, even they needed the explanation of the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) in regard to understanding the meanings of the Quran. For example, Allah states in Suratul Ahzaab, verse 59:

Oh Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they should cast their outer jalabib (plural of jilbab) over them; so that they may be known (for piety) and not harmed; and Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

The companions (radiyyallahu anhum) did not know what the jalabib was referring to. The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) explained that it was one sheet that was used to cover the entire body, from head to toe, leaving only the left eye to see and this was narrated by Ibn Abbas (radiyyallahu anhu).

It does not make sense for the Muslims of today to say, The Quran is enough. We do not need the Sunnah. Arent we more in need of the Sunnah than the companions and those who were actually present with the Beloved Messenger (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam)? The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) stated: Very soon a tradition of mine will be related to a person lying on his couch who will say, The Book of Allah (i.e., Quran) is enough between you and us. Whatever we find in it as halal (lawful and permissible), we accept it as halal and whatever we find in it as haram (unlawful and prohibited), we take that as haram. Behold, whatever Allahs Messenger has declared as haram is just like that which Allah has declared as haram.

It is ridiculous to claim that all the ahaadith are unreliable and were not preserved. Allah has stated, in His Book:

Indeed, (it is) We who have revealed the Remembrance and indeed We will guard it (from corruption). (Suratul Hijr 15:9)

The Remembrance, referred to in this verse, is the Quran and its explanation and wisdom. There is no way we can obey the Quran without obeying the Sunnah. If Allah did not protect the Sunnah and the ahaadith, then how can we act upon the Quran? The Quran tells us to pray. But if the Sunnah is corrupt, then how do we pray? The Quran does not tell us. The Quran commands believers to pay zakah, but how much do we pay and how often? The Quran does not say it, but the Sunnah does. The companions of the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam) went through so much pains and sacrifice to preserve the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam). They knew every detail of when he would say what he said, why hed say it, where hed say it, etc.

We see a good example of this in Abu Hurairah (radiyyallahu anhu), who narrated: I have divided my night into three parts. In one third of the night, I perform salah. In one third, I sleep. And in one third, I memorize the ahaadith of the Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaiyhi wa sallam). Abu Hurairah (radiyyallahu anhu) reported more ahaadith than any other companion.

One time Marwan ibn al-Hakam wanted to test Abu Hurairah's (radiyyallahu anhu) power of memory. He sat with him in one room and behind a curtain he placed a scribe, unknown to Abu Hurairah, and ordered him to write down whatever Abu Hurairah said. A year later, Marwan called Abu Hurairah again and asked him to recall the same ahaadith, which the scribe had recorded. It was found that he had not forgotten or left out even a single word.

        (5) Proof is that All muslims agrees on following the Prophet alehi salam .even the deviant groups . these are few points to proof you must obey the Prophet alehi salam.
NEXT TOPIC .. QURAN IS COMPLETE .YES QURAN IS COMPLETE BUT SAME QURAN IS TELLING US TO OBEY PROPHET ALEHI SALAM ..the hadith are protected as Quran is .Allah order us to obey the Prophet alehi salam if he don`t protect the sunnah how can we follow his sunnah? To say that Allah promised to protect only Qur'an but not Islam is being as ridiculous as one can get

Why are these Hanafi scholars trying to use their own reasoning, without any references to scripture, to annul a Hadith of the Holy Prophet? In Islam, you follow orders, you don't question or examine them. A Muslim is one who hears and obeys.

linked eyebrows are looked upon as a defect, hence it would be permissible to remove it.
Did this scholar just refer to God's creation as defective? Jihad on him.

The Hadith, from the Holy Prophet, who was infallible, is very specific:

May Allâh curse those women who tattoo or seek to be tattooed, those women who remove facial hair or seek it to be removed and those women who put gaps between their teeth for beautification; those who seek to change Allâh’s creation.

It doesn't have anything that says, "Unlessssss, her husbands wants her to get herself groomed". It doesn't say you can change His creation if x and y reasons come up, it just says curses on those who try.

The 'resembling men' argument would be more logical in the sense that there are Hadith forbidding men and women from looking like one another. So we can go against one Hadith if it contradicts the other? That is to say that it's forbidden for women to resemble men and at the same time, it is forbidden for them to get rid of facial hair. I suppose "resembling men" is subjective. You can say that a certain women resembles a man and I can totally disagree with you.

Unfortunately, Dukesy, saying that it's the law of God OR that we are not allowed to do things that non-Muslims did/do doesn't answer the question -- not to mention that such a ruling still contradicts the common claim that Islam is a universal religion (i.e., women ALL over the world today pluck their eyebrows, and it's not just prostitutes (anymore -- assuming that was really the case once upon a time)). If that's the case indeed, then why bother even justifying it? Simply say it's the law of God. Of course, discussions on hadith history are not taken into consideration here, but that's typical of most of us anyway.

In another post here, I called it blind faith, and that's exactly what it is.

Another thing ... and I hope this is not going off topic, but it was brought up in a couple of posts here.

How does this whole "don't do what the Jews do" thing work? The Quran tells us we can eat their meat AND we can marry them! But hadiths tell us not to do what they do (one hadith specifically says for women not to dye their hair because the People of the Book dye their hair ... or something like this). Do you folks not see the contradiction here? Or you see it but are just ignoring it? If the latter, how do you do that? I really need to learn that skill as well.

You see, you imitate people you respect and admire -- and you marry people you respect and admire. Yet, what do the hadiths regarding Jews indicate?

Quite obviously and even more honestly, we NEED to study hadiths more in-depth. I'm sure that's the only way we'll be able to force ourselves out of this illogicality (no offense to anyone, but I see it as illogical).

I was only 8 years old and I learnt the hard way. Used to put on the fake tattoos and at the time I used to read qaidah at the masjid, the teacher saw my tattoos and smacked me for it. Even though I didn't know it was harram!

In my personal opinion I don't see why you have to mutiliate your own body like that just to put some marking on it. As many others have said, Allah has given us this body and we must respect it.

Was it not 2010 when you went off at me when I expressed my liking for short sleeve shirts? On the one hand, you’re among the few that is quick to ridicule any Islamic ruling, and on the other, where your interest lies, you advance your argument by saying it is God’s words?

I didnt criticise inregard to what Islam says, I just spoke of how I feel a Pashtun women shud be, Like i said, Burqa is a barbaric piece of oppression while the traditional Pashtun women dress is of beauty in my eyes.

I spoke of Taliban to advance only in Punjab to give Punjabis a little taster of what they have been supporting upon us.

What are Authentic sources? those that were written 200 years after your prophets death?

Refraning from the habits of the people of the Jahilliyah period so as to not be associated and seen in the same light as them is not Jahiltob. If anything is Jahiltob, it is doing the prohibited act and finding any opportunity to justify it.

Well if An Arab tells you not to pluck eyebrows because some Prostitute did it 1400 years ago, then I dont think people are sane.

Life does not evolve around Arab Pagan culture, they may have buried their daughters but Arabs Muslims especially in saud want to legalise modern day Slavery.

                    Really?
                    Yes really

No, wait, you didn't mention any sources from the Quran or Sunnah to support your claim.

Why are these Hanafi scholars trying to use their own reasoning, without any references to scripture, to annul a Hadith of the Holy Prophet? In Islam, you follow orders, you don't question or examine them. A Muslim is one who hears and obeys.

As you clearly pointed facial hair means hair that covers the whole face.

If Islam prohibits the cutting of Facial Hair of women then I guess nearly over 80 percent of Muslim women in the world would be cursed.

A woman has to groom herself. Imgine seeing Women walking around with longer beards than Mullah Omar.

                          • Thats the thing Que, when it's the law of God, it is the law of God. For many of us, we don't even care about the justifications, and most of the time the justifications are only there for people, like yourself, who question it. You might find it an appealing task to question the justification but that doesn't rule out the law. (Take it as a mercy, your debating with the justification and not, what could be worse, debating with God? )

For people who think that they can justify and change Islam's rules just cause "80% of the women" do it, I would like to ask them a question. Where exactleh do you folks draw the line? No, really, just cause everyone else is doing it somehow makes it... okey? Wow, what a rational way of thought! (I would like to take this opportunity to bring to attention my 'oh so famous' example, so if everyone began commiting incest, it would become permissible cause its "universal" now?) Never thought of living my life that way changing my values left and right.

Another point, if you wanna live like that then I repeat my sheikhs words (Yasir Qadhi's incase someone missed that :P) then just take religion out of it. If, YOU (generally speaking) don't have any limits, simply remove Islam from your propositions and call everything you do in the name of so called "humanity" whose rules are implemented based on what the human population deems proper! It will make your life alot easier too, kana? No seriously, Islam has a set of laws - either you take it or you drop it - where in the world did "Let me improvise and change it around cause every other women does it too" come in?

                            Makes so much sense, kana?
I desire that which is Just - House of Dukemina.

The fact that women all over the world pluck their eyebrows does not make the ruling permissible. Like I said earlier, it is not a religion based on our whims and desires, unlike others. Based on a few words that didn’t suit yours doesn’t make my faith blind. I, by nature, am not one who follows one hundred or a thousand people suit. I don’t believe in majority rules, or might is right as you assume. What I do believe, and what might assume you and your kind, is that I consider myself among the fortunate that Allah chose to proclaim His Oneness. If my faith were blind, or if I had doubts, I would rather not have that faith. I don't call it blind faith, I call, what you're coming out with, a blind heart. I fail to understand why you want a justification for every Islamic ruling. There are two possibilities. One, you like to advance your rational personality in every debate, which doesn’t take the lead in most places, or two, you are trying to justify your own actions.

I don't believe that the "haraam" actions of people make them "halaal," and I've never meant to indicate that this is the case. So you have misunderstood if you think that's what I was conveying.

Rather, reminding you that this is the case was to tell you that your justification that it's haraam because prostitutes used to do it in Arabia is not a good enough one. Meaning, how did it become haraam for EVERYONE in ALL societies of ALL times when Islam is a universal and eternal religion? I honestly don't see how this could make sense to anyone, and I wish we had someone with some sense to explain this to me. Sorry for asking the question, but I REALLY want to know. Dukesy says that for some of us, we don't need any justification -- and that's EXACTLY why I say this then: Don't bother justifying it, then. Simply stick to the belief that it's haraam and when someone asks you why it's haraam, say simply, "God says so." That's what it all comes down to, doesn't it?

And, regarding asking justifications for Islamic rulings -- how do you decide which rulings to seek justifications for and which ones to accept blindly becuase it's the law of God?
