The greatest Iranians in history were Muslims: Rumi, Ferdowsi, Ibn Sina, Saadi, Hafez, Rudaki, Biruni, Juzjabi, Biruni, Khwarezmi, Jami, Behzad, Ghardezi, Khayyam,.. the Iranian civilization heavily influenced non Ajam civilizations such as the Turks and the Indians. Some of the greatest Iranian empires were Islamic. The Iranian identity was spread to India, the Far East and to Europe.. how can this be possible? Islam did not ruin Iran. It gave it what it needed to be even greater: a powerful ideology that breeds alpha males.

Shiism is what ruined Iran and by extension the rest of us Persianspeakers. It destroyed the key role Iran played in the Islamic world and also split the Iranian world along several ethnic and religious lines. It was a calamity. And the process can not be reverted unfortunately.
