Nothing wrong with the Zoroastrian religion, but the reality is, the Zoroastrians never established any scientific enterprise in all their years as an established cultural and social entity. Not to mention Zoroastrians had degraded and strayed from their religion to such a point that by the time the Muslims came, they were engaged in Sister-f*cking and accepted cuckoldry as a norm; two incrediblly gross signs of social degeneracy. So if anything, Islam saved the Persians from steeping into deterioration and deviation. The formalization of science as an enterprise was done by Muslims, that may make you feel insecure and uncomfortable, but that's reality. The reason Islam and the Zoroastrianism are so similar is because Islam is the true essence of Zoroastrianism. When they use to say "Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds"....they were foretelling Islam, Islam is the core of Zoroastrianism, so May as well be Muslim now.Last edited by Iblis_Efreetzai; 08-21-2018, 01:50 PM.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

This is just parroting Eurocentric narrative about Muslims and co-opting it for Perso-centrism. And it's juvenile and demonstrably false in most, if not all of it.

I'm aware of the obsession with incest, but I've never heard that Zoroastrians were into cuckoldry too. Can you give more details on that?Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostNothing wrong with the Zoroastrian religion, but the reality is, the Zoroastrians never established any scientific enterprise in all their years as an established cultural and social entity. Since cuckoldry is anathema to Iranic culture. I mean even the reason incest became praised is due to taking the importance of keeping families intact to the extreme (they reasoned that it was better to sleep with your own daughters/sisters/mothers rather than allow them to marry outside the family lol).

I read it somewhere that the Sassanid royalty often were laxed about who their wives slept with. I'm not sure where I read it but it was awhile back.

It was not a Zoroastrian thing, it was a thing that opponents of the Mazdakites alleged about them and then later on the same things were alleged about the Khurramis by their opponents, particularly about those that lived in the regions of northern Iran below the Caspian Sea.
These allegations are considered dubious and contradictory by scholars and are treated as propaganda or at best, misinformation.

I found it,
Sassanids practiced a form of polyandry, which is just another type of cucking.
Here's the source:
Polyandry as one form of marriage applies to a marriage
of a woman to more than one man (Bates and Pollouge,
2006: 497); a temporary convenience marriage of married
women was a current form in the Sasanian era. Women
could marry nominally for the reproduction of a male
successor for her first husband. If a husband had some
valid reasons or some special commitment, he could
handover his wife as well as her properties to another man
for a determined period. In such cases, the woman was still
the legal wife of her first husband who was her guardian
now, and children from her convenience marriage
considered as the children of her first husband (Wiesehofer
2001). Anthropologists believe that polyandry is common in
societies with a bad sever life condition, where the land is
scarce and having a husband is actually considered some
kind of economic burden (Cohen 2005: 128). In the case of
Sasanian society, polyandry and the reproduction of a son
as a legal successor guarantee the possibility of saving
properties in the paternal lineage and preserving its
continuity
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

When they use to say "Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds"....they were foretelling Islam, Islam is the core of Zoroastrianism, so May as well be Muslim now.
The idea that Zoroastrianism was in decline or had lost itself is an unfortunately common misunderstanding about history. Not just a misunderstanding about Zoroastrianism but also about Islam among the Persians and other Iranians.
Like all widespread religions there were different regional variations, denominations and sects of Zoroastrianism. Likewise there was the Zoroastrianism of the learned, the elites, and of the common people, most of whom would likely have been illiterate. The Zoroastrianism of the Sassanids in Persia was not exactly the same as the Zoroastrianism found in Sogdia for example.
Secondly, by the time the Sassanids fell their empire was very regliously diverse. It included Zoroastrians, Manichaens, Mazdakites, Pagans (particularly in the mountain regions of Deylam and Gilan of northern Iran) Nestorian Christians, Jews and Buddhists. And underneath all of these there were numerous denominations, sects, mixed relgions, heresies and so on.
Thirdly Islam did not firmly establish itself among the Iranians until about 3 or 4 centuries after the fall of the Sassanids. It is pretty well documented that the majority of the Iranian population overall did not embrace Islam quickly or easily. They were rebelling against Islam well up until at least the 10th century CE, in some regions of Iran even later than this until about the time of the Seljuks.
Most of the population are believed to have been following heresies by that time, neither Zoroastrianism nor Islam, but mixing the two as can be seen in the preservation of things like Zoroastrian astrology, celebrations, new year and other rituals (including some funeral/mourning rituals), wine drinking, and so many other things that are now preserved culturally as 'Iranian' rather than having their original Zoroastrian symbolism or purpose/meaning.
The Iranian propensity towards rebellion and rejection of Islam and their inventing of new Iranian sects and religious movements mixing Iranian regious ideas with Islam arguably starts to deline only after the Seljuks when the Zoroastrian population is believed to have started to finally collapse. However, the transitions / conversion from Zoroastrians and other Iranian religions to Islam did not happen evenly or uniformally across the different parts of Iran and what was once the wider Sassanid empire.
But with that said there was a continous presence of Iranian-Islamic heresies in various parts Iran from the 8th century to the Safavid conversion and then introduction of Twelver Shi'aism from Lebanon to Iran, most of them having some kind of Iranian religious spin to them (usually Zoroastrian or Mazdakite). After that, the sects and heresies start to gradually disappear unless you consider the Iranian school of Twelver Shi'a as just another type of Persianized Islam like all the other Iranian sects that came before it, just one that is more Islamic than Persian this time.
After that, i can only think of the Baha'is as another Iranian relgious flare-up that essentially is a break away and rejection of Islam.

Muslim cucks exist too. Lol
The article Iblis posted doesnt claim that polyandry is 'Zoroastrianism'. It just argues that the nature of Sassanid society was such that they developed laws and customs to retain whatever patriarchal socio-economic system worked for them at that time and how families, inheritance, land/property ownership etc were ordered back then. It actually says nothing about wife sharing being 'Zoroastrian', rather it is something born out of economics.
If you want to read more deeply on the topic of polyandry in the 'Iranian world' read Crone's book i posted above.
