Zakat/Charity/Hajj Expense should be given to Flood Victims

People shud themselves help out people in camps by providing meals, shelter or by atleast giving away their old or used clothes and other stuff to people who have lost everything in this test by Allah.

Though it is good that we should help our people and we are doing to the extent we can, however I had two points in mind when I posted my views.

1) When our brothers [for us its Pashtuns and for you it is Punjabis] are in distress and are struggling to survive , it will be wise and humane to help them out with the Zakat which Muslims have to give as Islamic tax to govt [or govt deducts it by force]. Moreover the money muslims spend on Hajj can also be used for the same purpose instead of using it for their purely individualistic religeous persuit. In some cases one has already performed Hajj and Umra but one loves to do it again due to religeous zeal. It is a sugggestion to all those muslims as well as others that their money which they spend on Hajj and Umra could save the lives of many innocents.

2) My second point is that the type of corrupt and failed state Pakistan is, everybody knows that its govt does not even have a common sense program of rescue,relieve and rehabilitate for our masses and specially for Pakhtuns. It is not just critcism for the sake of criticism but based on the abc of political scence which tells us that all such calamities have to be addressed by state and govt to let a person survive [ in case the person's survival is at risk] .

In simple words providing an environement wherein a person can survive and live according to his own thoughts is the basic duty of a state and is a basic human right of its citizen. But as we know Pashtuns are second class citizens in Pakistan so we they cannot expect this basic civic right as it has bene made luxury for them.

That is why I floated the idea that Pashtuns [and even others ethnic groups] should raise a voice to the world community by themselves instead of waiting for the govt of Pakistan which is interested only to suck the blood of its citizens instead of giving them a helping hand in moment of distress.

Please refrain from enlightening us with your immature lectures of patriotism and ethics if you cant help our people...Thank you.

I forgot to reflect on your excuse of "Test of Allah". I have explained this in another thread on flood, that flood is a natural phenomenon which is the result of de forestation and lack of planning and refraining from using technology to make the land safer. If flood strikes a locality there are scientific reasons and logical causes for it. Dont blame ALLAH for everything.
