  • Zakat/Charity/Hajj Expense should be given to Flood Victims

This is an appeal to all Pashtun/Muslim Community across the globe.

The Floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have devastated the 90 percent of the province killing the children, old men and women and destroying their houses and household.

I suggest that the Pashtun community should do the folowing to help their brothers and sisters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    1) Send the Zakat to the affectees of flood.

    2) Those who cannot fast in Ramadhan and want to give the compensation to the poor should send the equivalent to those in need due to flood in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    3) Those who have planned or are planning to go for pilgrimage[hajj] should postpone it to another year and instead send the money to the immigrants in their land who can only think to visit the House of God now and are dying to see their own devasted houses which are sunk in flood water and ceasing to exist with accelerated pace.

The money or items can be sent to the Govt of Pakhtunkhwa or any other reliable agency i your knowledge which can deliver your help to the flood victims in Pakhtunkhwa.

My suggestion was that in addition to donation and charity, I think the muslim community should send their ZAKAT,or the money saved aside for HAJJ too because human life is more important than a religeous custom as later is for one own self only.

The holy book of Muslims [Quran] says:

"Who so ever saves a life is like saving the whole humanity"

The Govt funds are auditable and KP govt [www.khyberpakhtunkhwa.gov.pk] is making its efforts though not enough to give a relief to the people however the choice is in your hands.

      Other agencies are:

      1) Bacha Khan Trust Education Foundation [bkefoundation.org]

      2) Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party [PMAP] [PF member Khyaal should be contacted]

I absolutely agree, Pir Rokhan, especially that human life is more important than going to hajj at a time like this, unless you've already booked your tickets and whatnot.

Very good initiative Pira! You have done very well.

But I advice people not to send a penny to the govt of Pashtunkhwa. Because the govt is dominated by thieves and criminals of ANP.

I advice people to find alternative channels to support the affected people.

The dirt on the shoes of Mullah's is better than the lying deceiving thieves and criminals of ANP. Mullah's do not make false promises of wealth prosperity and stability in exchange for votes. It is the Secularist Nihilists like ANP ( Awami Nihilist Party) who use language and ethnicity to rally support of the masses and then end up hopping on the laps of Punjabi and American masters.

                    OH EM GEE!

                    I can't stop laughing.

Qrratugai, I am fasting...don't make me laugh out loud....
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

Human Appeal International, if you're in UK (or Australia, I doubt it of course), is an NGO based in Manchester (or Sydney and Melbourne) which specialises in relief aid, and has been doing so since 1984. Human Appeal International has twelve offices worldwide serving more than 10 million people in countries including: Sudan, Senegal, Mauritania, Bosnia, Kashmir, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Kosovo, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Eritrea, Somalia and Palestine. They have a few appeal programs running for the flood victims, so you might want to consider them or have a browse of their website and previous programs and projects. I would recommend those two links to anyone willing to send aid to affected areas anywhere around the world.

It is the right of humans to be wrong and still survive and live their own life according to their thoughts. So it does not matter whether Politicians or Mullas are wrong. However we need to educate people on HOW someone is wrong and we are right.

Our Afghan/Pashtun Mullas ,though might not be of much benefit to our people in politico-economic sense, are still better than a lot and are realising that they need to learn modern sciences in addition to their theological sciences. Many educated persons including top class professionals are from highly religeous families and they are doing a wonderful job in their professions.

However a calamity like flood does not discrminate a secular and a mulla. It is at that time that we need to consider the compassionate grounds of their existence as humans forgetting any rivalary or grudge due to difference in political ideas.

To be honest , it is the lack of humanism which will ruin us next after having been devastated by natural calamities and catastrophies.

Please, everybody should give their Zakat to the flood victims in Pakhtunkhwa.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                            -Ferishta, 1560–1620
