If someone prays 5 times a day but doesn't know what he is saying then it means that none of his prayers are accepted and thus he has never prayed. The one who never prays is not a Muslim. So basically you are saying that 90% of all people who ascribe themselves to Islam are not Muslims.

That is why Muslims should learn the Arabic language like they learn Urdu, English or French as an official/national/international language.

Only 18% Muslims are Arabs. In 1400 years, they did not learn Arabic, so now they will start learning Arabic to understand their prayers.
This whole Islamic system needs an overhaul, other wise, Islam will have no place in modern world.

This means only Árabs, some Taliban who understand what they in prayers are Muslims, rest all kuffar.

            Wrong again - seems habitual

            http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/02/living...ion/index.html

Islam, the world's fastest-growing faith, will leap from 1.6 billion (in 2010) to 2.76 billion by 2050, according to the Pew study. At that time, Muslims will make up nearly one-third of the world's total projected population of about 9 billion people.

Christianity is expected to grow, too, but not at Islam's explosive rate. The Pew study predicts Christians will increase from 2.17 billion to 2.92 billion, composing more than 31% of the world's population.
and the retention rate is actually pretty good compadre:

The study, which Pew says is the first of its kind, bases its projections on the age of populations, fertility and mortality rates, as well as migration and conversion patterns. Simply put, Muslims are having larger families, retaining more members (conversions are illegal in some Muslim nations) and are younger than adherents of other faiths. More than 1 in 3 Muslims is younger than 15.
Muslims will surpass Jews as the largest non-Christian religion in the U.S.

Can we think of any other language as the linkage among Muslims? And Arabic gives the added advantage of understanding the Holy Quoran by ourselves. That would diminish the influence of wooden Mullahs on us. Won't that help in your proposed overhaul.

That language already exists , in which you and I am writing. English. No need of Arabic. Quran may be read with translation and prayers in one own mother tongue. Imam Abu Hanifa has allowed it. I pray in Pashto.
More Arabic means more Wahabbism and more Islamic States because if you take Quran literally, you must be a Wahabbi or IS member.

I did not mention which religion is growing fast which not. I just said that Arabs are a small minority and majority non Arab may not learn their language to understand prayers. They can pray in any language. God the omniscient can understand any language.

I understand and agree that other religions are losing ground because in this modern scientific age, religion is getting redundant and obsolete. Only spirituality will prevail. As Muslims are living under dictators, without modern education, no development, no democracy , so in such conditions Islam will grow but once the Muslims get exposure to modernism, religion will subside.

The same happened to Christianity. In the dark ages it was strong, now in the age of enlightenment only they have Vatican and religion inside the Church. I was a staunch bigot Wahabbi Muslim but now an enlightened spiritual Muslim only.

Also the death sentence for apostasy is a big hindrance for leaving Islam. Many Muslim are Muslim under social or religious duress. many are just culturally Muslims, Muslims by name. Once they read texts and follow it literally, the result is either Taliban , IS or disillusioned Muslims like myself.

Nope the Qura'n cannot be translated. Literal translation, which means transliteration, is possible. However thoughts and emotions expressed in a language cannot be translated in another. Think of a common phrase in Pashtu. Now see translate it into English. Do you get the same emotion?

Emotion is one thing, message is another thing. Why we have so many translations of Quran and exegeses. They have practical value. Quran is not a novel that you need its emotional aspect. You need to understand the message.

Arabic is a complicated language and have many synonyms, homonyms etc and need explanation of the figures of speech, connotations and the intrinsic meaning as well as difference in muhkamat(clear) and mushabihat(unclear). Its literal interpretation creates people like Taliban and IS.

Learning Arabic is not bad but 72% Muslims could not do it in 1400 years, so it is not practicable now. No body is now interested in religious stuff much and English offers more than the Arabic of dictators and underdeveloped Arabs.

and why do people say arabic is a holy language? what about the languages of other muslims? are they not equal or less worth?

What you and Badlun are stating will transform our holy book into a bible whose original has been lost through such manipulations. Nope, Al Quor'an must be kept intact as it has been in Arabic.

its not about transforming the quran into the bible
if people dont understand what they read and what they pray they have no connection to good
and is arabic language more worth than others?
