No. They are muslims. But misguided Muslims. They preach a particular branch of Sufism that promotes such ideas as the Hindu Advaita ( wahdatul wujood) and they chant songs that are in fact SHIRK. Such as Qasida Burda.

How could they be Muslim when they are teaching shirk? Is not shirk the only sin that is NOT forgiven?

How could they be Muslim when they are teaching shirk? Is not shirk the only that is NOT forgiven?

You cant just make general takfir on anyone who is misguided. I have not seen any scholar making takfir on people such as Hamza Yusuf.

Neither do any scholar except some declare other Sufis and Imami shi'a as kaafir.

In order to be declared a kaafir, you have to negate fundamental aspects of religion. Such as believing in a new prophet.


But theoratically speaking, who practices shirk is outside the fold of Islam. But it is better for us not to go about declaring everyone a kaafir. Because unfortunately a large number of muslims have been misguided into believing in all these weird ideologies. And it up to us as Muslims to correct our beliefs and go back to the original version of Islam and eradicate our communities from shirk.

A good step towards this mission is to confront charlatans and demagogues such as Hamza Yusuf and Faraz Rabbani. They are the advocates of these false beliefs and ideologies. And they are the ones who wrap up their deviance in nice and fancy words and sugar-coat their false ideology with labels such as "traditional Islam".

But everybody can see through their lies. And alhamdulilah the correct dawah to Islam is spreading. And the educated and progressive Muslims flock to Quran & Sunnah.

Really? Then we should be really ashamed.

I hate Sufism. Because Sufism are spreading false version of Islam. They have incorporated Hinduism and Buddhism into our religion.
