  • Why or How?

In terms of scale of the universe, which question is more Important, why or how?

Like if you were able to meet God one day, what will you ask him? lets assume you can only ask one of the question below.

Why did you create the universe?

    or

How did you create the universe?

How sounds more interesting. How did you create it!
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

    -Ferishta, 1560–1620

A slightly different question - from a purely rational viewpoint, how do we react when/if we discover that more advanced highly evolved life forms in the universe one day will compete with us for the same resources? Do we fight, or just give up?

In evolutionary terms modern humans have walked the earth for 40000 years out of an Earth life of 4.3 billion years. Do we take the rational view point that like most species before us, we will most likely be superceded?

In general I don't question Allah's overall plan for the universe because it is what it is. The WHY question is interesting but should a lower life form ask why they are a lower life form or should we just accept it and live our lives to the best possible outcome we have and simply accept that there is very little we can do in the bigger universal plan?

An andvanced intelegent live will be so advanced that they wouldn't even need to compete with us on recources, have you people watched star trek where they had this machine where they could replicate any organic matrial for food, or metal or what ever they wanted, I know this is sci-fi, but in theory something like this is possible, so we don't have to worry about an advanced alians invading us and killing us off, if an alien civilization is so advanced that they can travel faster than light ( becuase thats what you need if you want to reach even the nearest star) that they would be also advanced enough to not exterminate other species for theire recourcess.

forget how, that isn't really important.

the question is Why, did God create the universe, life, and then but shackles on humans but give angels, and jinns more freedom.

what was the purpose and reasoning for all this? was it really necessary

How is Science and Why is Religion and Philosophy. Astronomy and Cosmology is telling us how universe was created or emerged while for religion it was just KUN(be) by God and every thing happened in a second or maximum 6 or 7 days while science estimates billions of years for the emergence or birth of the universe.

Religion is more interested to answer the WHY part and tells that universe is for man and man for God(worship) and morality. Ethics as branch of Philosophy also touches why universe was created. Although Philosophy has its theorities on the birth of the universe.

I am more for science and philosophy which give more rational and sensible explanations. Religion makes you dull as by telling that God created it and that's all.

^ 7 days?? You don't favour the bang theory?? 7 days.. I wonder how long a day was considered then..

21:16. Not for (idle) sport did We create the heavens and the earth and all that is between!

21:17. If it had been Our wish to take (just) a pastime, We should surely have taken it from the things nearest to Us, if We would do (such a thing)!
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

My question would be why similar to Kais, in that why would an all knowing God who knew all of our sins beforehand still go ahead and create us with the intention of testing us (when there's really no need?) and eventually punishing us...

From what I could understand, God created humans, so that they will worship Him, hence the reason why we have to pray 5 times a day......

God created angels to worship him, by your definition. Humans do a different job than worshipping him all the time. That's up to you to find it.

5 prayers a day isn't for God. Its to cleanse the soul, strengthen the mind and sooth the heart. While building a relationship with the creator.

Enough with the philosophy questions. It's thoughts like these that arise out of nowhere when you have too much time on you're hands.

If God created the Universe, then What may seem to us Millions of years could to God be Kun fa yakun.

In the Theory of General Relativity we concludes that Time is Intrinsically bound with Space, therefore when Space is warped, time is also Warped. What happens in different reference frames would account for the difference because their placement in space would influence time. Now if we can imagine Something with No Spatial Characteristics, then Things happen Instantly .....Kun Fa Yakun. In Islam God is not an object or a physical entity thereby has no spatial characteristics, So everything is happening as Kun Fa Yakun

Therefore we have reconciled the Scientific Interpretation and Islamic One as harmonious.
