The shai-pukhtoons of kurma and hangu etc

The entire turi tribe in kurma agency are shai .
There are two or three khails of orakzais also shai.
Some shai are also living in Bangash area but most Bangash are suni muslims.
They are very cultural pashtuns followed pashtunwali.
The on going violence in tribal region affect the lives of these pashtuns.
They should be treated like anyother pashtuns.
There is a kind of discrimination against them cus of their sect.
Most pashtuns do,nt like asking them who they are but lately the wahabi sect warn them to convert to suni islam .
The govt agencies also play its shai,suni card in the tribal region of kuram and hangu.
When i aksed the Turi pashtun how he feel about other pashtuns in his area?
He said we are one blood one people but outsiders fueling this kind of violence.We trade with eachother and took part in jerga with other pakhtuns of the region.
We are same people.
The wahabi sect and elements in ,,isi,, are turning us against eachothers.
The shai-suni jerga now settled many issues but outsiders still interfering.
Lets hope for pashtun unity and peace in the region.

Question comes in the mind where is the pashtuns spirits of tolerance gone to.
The extremists brought us to a situation where we kill eachother.

I do,nt think so. Islam teach us brotherhood and respect of all others muslims or none-muslims.

A secular Pashtun nationalist practicing Pashtunwali never think backwardly. Lack of education is one thing and Pashtunwali another thing. Pashtuns who are backward are because of ignorance, illiteracy, Islamism not because of Pashtunwali.

An educated secular Bangash or Turi Shia Pashtun will never kill another Pashtun but a religious bigot will do so.

Turis are 100% shias, they migrated from iran and settled as hamsaya of bangashes. Later they acquired they acquired the area by conquest. They are ones who infected 10% orakzais and half of the bangash tribe with shiaism...

Turis are extremely hardcore shias, in recent pindi incident, many in ashura jaloos were from parachinar who violently killed sunnis in the mosque. They are also active in shia sectarian outfit sipah e mohammad. Their loyalties are with iran, not with pashtun nation.

Turis are purely Khogyani Karlani Pashtuns and never migrated from Iran. All shias do not come from Iran. There was a time when Iran was Sunni not Shia.

If all other Pashtun tribes have Wahabi Salafi elements, there is no surprise that some Turis will be extremist Shias too.

Good question,
The tribal chief of turi tribe went for Haj 300 or less years ago to Mecca.
On his way back home he spend some time in Iraq where he converted to shai-islam.
Later on arrival to his homeland most of Turis also converted to shai-sect.
Before that they were all sunis.
The few sub-tribes of orakzai also influenced of him.
The Bangash are sunis but there are shai-Bangash too but not many.
According to most Bangash the shai-Bangash are iranians settled there.
They are not BANGASH by origin.
There is conflect situation between Suni-Bangash and others in Hangu area.

The main purpose of this thread is that many of us may not agree with their conection to shai-islam
But before anything we are pukhtoons and we should never let down our pakhtunwali and brotherhood.
If someone is shai he is still pashtun.I understand that many Turis are influenced by iranian thugs but think about it why it is happend?
we should treat them like anyother pakhtun and keep the outsiders out of our society.
If we discriminate or hate then these people will be used by others against us.
Pakhtuns once been one of the most tolerant society of this whole region.
The hindos,sikhs etc feel more free in pashtunland.They are loved and respected by pakhtuns.
Many hindus and sikhs are living in Buner,swat,banu,terah etc and they loved pakhtuns.

The solution is for them to convert to Islam or move to another country. Because in Islam, hostile non-Muslims and sects outside the fold of Islam like the Ismailiyyah are not allowed to live among Muslims.

They only cause problems and they spread corruption.

The current war between Sunnis and Shiites in Kurm is started by Karzai govenrment.
