It's just, not all people like labels, so although they might have over 95.86% of their beliefs taught/supported by Ibn Wahab, they just don't wanna CALL themselves Wahabis. It's totally understandable, though, since sometimes we might accept something that Ibn Wahab said, but other times we might accept something that someone who seldom concurred with Ibn Wahab.

Bottom line is, Wahabism as a concept always existed: it means extremist Islam.
I didn't want to enter this debate as I knew that eventually it would go the way others went. However, I do not agree with this qrrathugaii. Ibn Taymiyyah was a highly influential scholar and writer in Islam. Just because Ibn Wahab may have been influenced by him does not mean that they are one and the same. Taymiyyah has been quoted, read, and many have studied under him. This is like saying Hanafi madhab is the same as is Ibn Jaffir just because Abu Hanifa had attended or was taught by Ibn Jaffir at some point in time.

Wahabism is considered nowadays as such a version (by some people, although I would say there is extremism in a lot of movements not just part of Islam), but we can't denote extremism of Islam exclusively with Wahabism, there have been other movements before it and after it.

Again just my two cents...now I will leave you all.

I am sure Sangar would know the history of Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab Najdi a person who belonged to cursed land [NAJD] and was a sell out who compromised with the contemporary power instead of raising a voice against their autocracy and dictatorship. The only good thing he did was to raise a voice against tomb worship and superstition but he never had the balls to challenge those in power.

The following sayings of prophet Muhammad are referring to Najd.

            1. The apex of disbelief is towards the East [Najd]. Pride and arrogance is found among the people of the horse and the camel [Bedouin Arabs]."

            2. "Harshness and dryness of heart are in the East [Najd], and true belief is among the people of Hijaz."

            3. "O Allah, bless our Syria and our Yemen!" They said: "Ya Rasulallah, and our Najd!" He didn't reply. He blessed Syria and Yemen twice more. They asked him to bless Najd twice more but he didn't reply. The third time he said: "There [in Najd] are the earthquakes and the dissensions, and through it will dawn the epoch [or horn] of shaytan."

I am sure that Sangar - the chief mufti of PF, would also know that the same wahabi version of religion with the same compromise with the Kingship is still in practice and the religeous clergy [Mutawaas] dont interfere into the state issues even if they are against the Islamic injunctions and the kingship does not interfere into the authority of the religeous clergy even if it is arrogant, inhumane and against human rights in because they also follow the irrational ideology of MBAW Najdi.

Having said that, the tomb worship ,cultism and other idiotic acts prevalent in Afghanistan and Pakhtunkhwa [though not much in number] are also against Afghan nature and culture. They should not be encouraged.

Sceince is the only criteria for truth.

Hadith of Najd is explained by the classic scholar of hadith, Ibn Hajar al Asqalani. According to him, Najd was refering to contemrorary Iraq. Not the Najd of Eastern Arabia.

But of course you would rather ignore this fact, and just copy and paste from Balervi graveworshiper websites.

Oh and in case you look further in your barelvi sources, you might find out a nother hadith that they commonly use to discredit Ibn abdul Wahhab. That one refers to Ibn Abdul Wahhab's tribe. Banu Tamim.

Again, there are other ahadith praising Banu Tamim.

Before you joined this forum, some grave worshipers here did recycle the same crap like you are doing now.

I gave them the necessary evidence to shut their mouths. But as shameless as they are, they keep on ranting.

It's amusing how all the heretics, graveworshipers and nationalists gang up everytime any part of this unholy alliance faces scrutiny.

The ebooks I posted, most of them are authored by scholars way before ibn Abdul Wahhab was born.

And no ebook is in the list that is authored by Ibn Abdul Wahhab himself.

Yet everybody is here attacking him.

              Explains quite allot.

I dont think whether any of the books are worth reading in the first place. Wahabism is just one interpretation and one sect and is an arab phenomenon and is fastly withering away with the advancement of science and technology like all other sectarian interpretations based on the lack of factual scientific knowledge. Afghans need to read the books of science and technology instead of wasting their time on any sectarian literature.

We need science and religion. Both are necessary literature.

Science is for our success and progress in the worldly matters. But religious knowledge is more important than that. Because religious knowledge is also very important for the hereafter.

Naturally, people must know all the facts about deviancies in order to safeguard themselves from heretic propaganda that might lead them to hellfire.

Mujeeb, can you give some examples which article of Islamic creed or Aqidah the Wahhabis contravene? To the best of my knowledge, Wahhabis adhere to Islamic Aqida explained by Imam Tahawi and I don't see the slightest departure from the Aqidah that the Sunnis follow.

In my opinion, it is a tragic quality of both Sangar and Muhsina that they must always swing between two poles without trying to find a middle way. No offence intended.
