Sangar Gula, the concept of wahabism existed long before Ibn Wahab. And Ibn Wahab was influenced by Ibn Taymiyyah. So, since the term "Wahabism" didn't exist during Ibn Taymiyyah's time, you should understand that when someone uses "Wahabism" to refer to a time period before Ibn Wahab, they're suggesting that it's extremism -- since that's just what Wahabism is: extremism in every way.

It's just, not all people like labels, so although they might have over 95.86% of their beliefs taught/supported by Ibn Wahab, they just don't wanna CALL themselves Wahabis. It's totally understandable, though, since sometimes we might accept something that Ibn Wahab said, but other times we might accept something that someone who seldom concurred with Ibn Wahab.

Bottom line is, Wahabism as a concept always existed: it means extremist Islam.

Wahhab is the name of allah. And you are using it as a derogatory term.

Mocking the names of allah is major kufr. But that's nothing new to you I guess.

^ Wahab is the name of Allah, but Ibn Wahab and Wahabism are not the names of Allah. I didn't say someone practices "Wahab"; I said people practice Wahabism.

So, there's a difference -- a big one, mind you. And I'm going to continue doing it whether you like it or not; it's the name of one of the most extremist versions of Islam, and since you love labeling everyone (except your own self), you of all people on earth should have no problem with it.

obviously nobody can stop you from mocking the name of allah by saying "wahhabism". But you are commiting major kufr over and over again.

Therefore I invoke allah's curse on you. May allah humiliate you in this life and the hereafter.

LOL. Sure, I don't mind. What you consider humiliation is most likely not humiliation to me. However, good thing I never really believed in these sick curses, anyway. They come only from illiterate folks.

Nonetheless, lemme just quote the Quran here: May God curse all liars and hypocrites, and may they be humiliated in this world as well as in the next. Aemeen at that

Wahhabis are not a separate sect for it never presupposed separate doctrines to distinguish its followers from the great mass of all other followers of the same faith--Islam. On the contrary, this movement has made an attempt to do away with all the accretions and superimposed doctrines which in the course of many centuries have grown up around the original teachings of Islam, and to return to the original message of the Prophet (pbuh). It was a great attempt to to a complete freeing of Islam from all the superstitions that have obscured its message. All the renaissance movements in modern Islam, (the Ahl-i-Hadith movement in India, the Sanusi movement in North Africa, the work of Syed Jamal-ud-Din Afghani and the Egyptian Muhammad Abduh) can be directly traced back to the spiritual impetus set by Muhammad Abdul Wahhab.
The defects which have prevented Wahhabism from becoming a force of spiritual destiny is its narrowness with which it seeks to confine almost all religious attempts to a literal observation of injunctions, overlooking the need for penetrating to their spiritual content. The other defect is rooted in the Arab character itself - that zealotic, self-righteous orientation of feeling which concedes to no one the right to differ. Hardly two centuries ago, the Arabs were more distant from Islam than any other group in the Muslim world. While ever since the advent of Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab, they have regarded themselves not merely as champions of Islam but almost as its sole owners.

Sanger, your attitude is a typical wahabi one. You said exactly the same thing to me yesterday, although you forgot to add "you are committing major kufr". Why are you denying the fact that there is no wahabism?

Let Allah decide whether he is going to humiliate her or not since taking over Allah's prerogative is highly blasphemous in Wahabism. You should just remain an ordinary Mullah, not Allah.I am sure Allah is listening to your prayers.

As the brother noted, most of these are the works of Wahhabis/"Salafis." Wahhabi attacks on Sufism are predicated on their misinterpretation and misunderstanding of Sufism, as we have seen on this very forum.

As for the likes of Imam Ibn Qudama (ra), they were Sufis themselves. Their criticism was only of certain non-Sufi practices.

For an excellent article on the place of Tasawwuf (Sufism) in Islam, see Shaykh Nuh Keller's The Place of Tasawwuf in Traditional Islamic Sciences.

Indeed it has. Wahhabi beliefs contravene the doctrine (`aqida) of Islam. Their innovations and aberrations in matters of law (fiqh) are secondary.

NO WAY! He's sent divine curses upon YOU, too?! Oh Good God! lollll... Well, you see, when they can't refute our arguments, they turn to personal insults; when we make it known to their empty heads that their very personal attacks and insults don't harm us in ANY WAY and we find them rather amusing, they, with much frustration, turn to curses -- like this one. In some time, they'll just have to give up on this, too, 'cause they don't mean anything to us. He can curse us all he wants. It only further proves our point of what extremism does to people.

I am amazed at how the version of religion has turned a so called student of social science into a mad and arrogant bedoin mimicker.

I am sure Sangar would know the history of Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab Najdi a person who belonged to cursed land [NAJD] and was a sell out who compromised with the contemporary power instead of raising a voice against their autocracy and dictatorship. The only good thing he did was to raise a voice against tomb worship and superstition but he never had the balls to challenge those in power.

The following sayings of prophet Muhammad are referring to Najd.

                              1. The apex of disbelief is towards the East [Najd]. Pride and arrogance is found among the people of the horse and the camel [Bedouin Arabs]."

                              2. "Harshness and dryness of heart are in the East [Najd], and true belief is among the people of Hijaz."

                              3. "O Allah, bless our Syria and our Yemen!" They said: "Ya Rasulallah, and our Najd!" He didn't reply. He blessed Syria and Yemen twice more. They asked him to bless Najd twice more but he didn't reply. The third time he said: "There [in Najd] are the earthquakes and the dissensions, and through it will dawn the epoch [or horn] of shaytan."

I am sure that Sangar - the chief mufti of PF, would also know that the same wahabi version of religion with the same compromise with the Kingship is still in practice and the religeous clergy [Mutawaas] dont interfere into the state issues even if they are against the Islamic injunctions and the kingship does not interfere into the authority of the religeous clergy even if it is arrogant, inhumane and against human rights in because they also follow the irrational ideology of MBAW Najdi.

Having said that, the tomb worship ,cultism and other idiotic acts prevalent in Afghanistan and Pakhtunkhwa [though not much in number] are also against Afghan nature and culture. They should not be encouraged.

Sceince is the only criteria for truth.
