It seems certain groups have an interest in portraying him as a supporter of terrorism. We shouldn't blindly accept their allegations. There are videos on YouTube where Dr. Naik himself responds to the allegations of support for terrorism, etc.

      1. I have married a woman from 'people of the book', i have a son who has not reached adulthood yet. His name is Ali. Suppose his name is not 'Ali' but else and he is from 'people of the book', now should i disown him from inheritance?
if marriage is allowed with 'people of the book' then why not inheritance for son who is 'people of the book'?!
Because the objective of marriage to WOMEN and WOMEN only of the Ahl Al Kitab (People of the Book) is intended to ultimately produce a Muslim society and by introducing the opportunity for your children not to be Muslim defeats the objective of this marriage. Thereby granting inheritance would undermine the general framework of developing a Muslim society.

      2. why a muslim woman has 'half inheritance', i am usually answered as economic responsibilities are on shoulders of Man thats why. if this answer is correct then the culture i live in here women work equal to men, so in our situation won't women will earn equal inheritance as a men? !
This is contextual but there are reasons. Generally in MOST societies and even today Males take on the predominant expenditure of marital life, family support and financial burden. Since women are not required to expend their personal money towards these things when she marries under Islamic Law and women GENERALLY get married the primary financial burden is on the husband. Then her need for inheritance is greatly less. But again this is contextual; There are cases where the woman has primary financial burden, in these cases it can be stipulated to grant more for the woman. In Modern scenarios often both husband and wife work and provide equally to the family financially. In this context it would depend upon her siblings situation but if they're all in the same situation it would stipulate based on who has greatest need.

      3. i am told that 'blood money' for woman is half, because her witness is half, her inheritance is half, thats why her 'blood money' is half. now i have few questions here; is a woman not intelligent enough in reality?so her witness considered half? 2nd if we agree on half witness and half inheritance rule and apply on half 'blood money' then why not this half rule applies on other things e.g.
Again this is contextual; since men have traditionally taken on financial burden and are providers, as well as workers. The Loss of the male would be an economic pitfall since no one would be able to provide as much. Thus "blood money" is related to the financial distress caused by the loss of a family member. In contexts where this is not an issue it is not required.

woman will do half fasts, half Prayers; and half punishment on crime because she considered not as intelligent as a man, why she gets full punishment as a man does?!
Women are actually excused from certain fasts and prayers due to their physiological matters. The issue of women's intelligence is a misunderstood one. In general women and men have about the same degree of intelligence but studies have shown men are slightly more apt towards certain analytical expressions of intelligence than women. Islam does not claim women are intellectually incapable. Islam has no restriction on women thriving and making accomplishments in intellectual fields such as Science, Mathematics, Medicine and Engineering. What Islam refers to as a "deficiency" is the behavioral expression of intelligence NOT the capacity or ability to be intelligent. Men and women are hormonaly different and this is believed to account for much of their behavioral tendencies. Although women are capable analytical thinking, hormonally they may TEND to prefer less reliable emotive motives in their thinking. This is what Islam describes as a "deficiency in intelligence" not a deficiency in capability but a deficiency in how intelligence is generally expressed.

      4. For marriage permission/agreement of a woman is necessary, but when i visit pakistan i see many ' mismatched' marriages. And our culture treats women as animals who are not allowed/cant express their feelings. women are forced here for marriages. Now tell me will you call such marriages as 'Rape' ?!
It is a crime in Islam to do these types of marriages.

      5. In islam Marriage is called "contract", now only those person can do 'contract' who is adult, and in Islam there is concept of marriage for a girl who had not reached adulthood. Is it right? Sometime i think why a child girl should be married?why not wait till she reaches adulthood? May be she starts liking someone else when she reaches adulthood and she already married in childhood to someone else..
Because marriage is a social contract, the purpose of marriage is on one hand fulfill peoples natural needs and on other hand integrate people into a social fabric. While it is true a child can be contracted into marriage; when she reaches adulthood she has the right to confer or deny the contract. So no such viiolation exists within the framework of Islamic Law Muslims however do not always abide by the order of Islamic Law and bypass things and this is what leads to violation of human rights.

      6. If Marriage with 'people of book is allowed then why not friendship? !
It's a misunderstanding, marriage is only allowed with women of the people of the book. The objective of marriage is to create more Muslims and change the social fabric to be geared towards Islam. You are allowed friendship( (zamalah) but not WALAYAH; Walayah has a special meaning more than just a friend but a confidant and benefactor and much much more.

      7. why a person leaving islam is ordered to be murdered? why you want to keep a person forcefully in islam, why abandon him off from islam community?
Only if he makes aggressive, hostile moves against Islam or is trying to undermine the Muslim society is he killed. If he quietly apostates chooses not to participate in Islamic life he is left alone.

      8. What is concept of 'Slave Girl' in islam? can one keep Slave-girl in today's era? in America i am asked this question and i have no answer..
Slave-girls is live human being, someone become her owner and force sexual relations with her or sell her, my heart doesn't agree thats islam allows it. Sometime i think, i live on a mountain community, there lives my fiancee and one day Islamic Army comes for war, we loose war, they take my fiancee and Leader of army hands over my fiancee to a soldier like a packet of peanuts, what ever soldier wants to do with her; i dont think Islam the religion of kind prophet Muhammad has any space for this thing.
This is an issue I have tackled with myself but after extensive research I have found that Having Sex with slave women is Islamically not sanctioned. The statements which may be perceived by some to sanction sex with slave women is misunderstood. The "Zawajihim wa malakat al aymanihim" is stated in the same statement indicates that women who were slave girls one should marry. The edict is actually to marry the slave women. Prophet Muhammad(saw) has married his slave girl Mariam(ra) and this is what the Qur2an stresses because otherwise the act is fornication.

Zakir Naik is a salafi in many ways. He is not a scholar. He is a student. His job is to preach Islam. He consults scholars for guidance.

You dont have to study in an institution to become a scholar. You just need scholars who can teach you.

Leave this discussion whether zakir naik is a scholar or not but he knows very well how to deal with the questions of the modern minds about islam and muslim. No other scholar have i seen that could answer such hard question in a simple way so nicely.
Also he has good knowledge of comparative religions. He may not have know of islamic fiqah but he is better than those thousands of muslim scholars who cant dare to come forward in the media and face the kufar and say the truth. He is doing a great job. He will be rewarded.

The only convincing part of your replies is context. All these injunctions have contextual background otherwise in today's world all such injunctions will be violation of human rights, discrimination on gender and religion, injustice, prejudice, bias, lack of freedom of expression which are all unjustifiable.

If we say all these injunctions were only for that time when these were revealed and now Qur'an should be reinterpreted according to the modern times .

Society, culture, politics, law, economy etc can change with the passage of time but religion cannot change. One cannot reinterpret the religious injunctions like about faith, worship and ethics but all other aspects of life can change with changing circumstances.

Well first of all context is not just about time lensing; in fact when I said context I did not elicit "time" as the independent variable or even central variable; I elicited situational variances.> Situation variances work by a simple algorithm such as if A is present then do B, if A is not present do C. It works by cases and not simply time differences. Islam does not shift according to subjective criteria like Human Rights Committees opinions. It goes by results and evidence.
Islam neither changes due to time nor does it stay static due to situation; It is a dynamic method from the get go.

So provide a logical refutation on why they're incorrect ..otherwise you're only making a blind emotional response. I'll be waiting to read it.

Tell me simply whether Islam is dynamic or static? Is there any need of reinterpretation of the religious thought in Islam or otherwise? What is Ijtihad? What is Qiyas in Islam?

How can you use reason in revelation? Reason is human not divine. Heart has a reason which reason cannot understand. How can you apply logic and rationality to the divine system. Or we have to separate the political, cultural, economical , scientific and social injunctions from the religious ones otherwise everything can be reinterpreted and instead of 5 times prayers 2 times can be recommended for example. My approach is that religious part of Islam is constant, permanent while other injunctions are subject to change according to new circumstances.

On the questions of the thread I reproduce below my response.

                1. For the questions on inheritance, evidence, polygamy, slave girls, blood money etc we need reinterpretation of Qur'an. The simple solution is shane nazool, context and milieu of Arabia 1400 years back. Now these injunctions are not valid. These were for that time and now in this modern era where human rights prevail and there is no difference in man and woman in their intelligence and personalities(except biological differences), these injunctions need reinterpretation otherwise young generation will start abhorring Islam which does not go in favor of Islam.

                2. The polygamy of the Prophet Muhammad, his marriage with minor etc may be considered his personal acts not his acts as a prophet of a religion. He him self says in the famous hadith of date palm trees pollination that his words on religious matters may be taken only AND NOT on mundane matters. If we consider his each and every act as Sunna then it will be very difficult for Muslims to marry 12 or 11 wives, having slave girls and marrying a girl of 9 years. Prophet was great in his religious capacity but his personal life has a lot of issues which cannot be adjusted with this mdern era.

                3. Forced marriages and early marriages are also connected to our society and the only solution is modern and professional education. An engineer, a doctor, a professor, a scientist woman will never never be forced in to a marriage, an uneducated yes.

4, On questions like music, dance, dress, fine arts etc , the solution is separation religion from culture, art and science. Religion is only for your faith, worship and ethics not for determining your tastes for fine arts, utilitarian arts, dress needs, hair style, fashion etc.

Spiritual part of religion is more important. That is why in the 5 pillars of Islam we only have religious and spiritual fundamentals not things related to politics, economics, culture, society science and education. One can be a perfect Muslim if he/she believes in oneness of God, considering Muhammad as the last prophet, offers prayers, keep fast, pay zakat and goes for pilgrimage and observes the basic moral and spiritual injunctions of Islam .

That is the religion of Islam while political Islam or Islamism is based on Wahhabism, Salafism and other extremist ideologies which has nothing to do with the religion of Islam.

It's both; depending on which cases are present and also level of fundamental priority.

How can you use reason in revelation?
Well by understanding the motivation behind the revelation in tandem with human needs and benefits. When we do that we understand the "reason" behind revelations.

This is how the Mu'tazilah using the Madhhab of Imam Abu Hanifah approached problems

On the questions of the thread I reproduce below my response.
None of this provides a refutation for my post though; These are just opinions and they fail to address all relevant cases. It only stresses perception which is highly subjective and faulty. For example your opinion that the 5 pillars implies that political, social and economic are not addressed in Islam is a weak presumption because It fails to demonstrate that the 5 pillars does not comprehensively include those matters within the definitions and meanings. Second example; the term "minor"; what is deemed minor depends greatly on cultural interpretations. It too is very subjective and doesn't give any insight on whether something is valid or invalid. We need an objective and rigorous standards as by examining the scientific opinion on human development to understand whether something is correct or not.. Also your statement that an Engineer, Doctor and so on will never be in a forced marriage is ALSO false. Many Highly Academically Qualified women have been subject to forced marriages; so the issue of forced marriages hinges not on education but other social variables.

In summary your post is merely a set of opinions and not actual established facts regarding Islam or social development. You assume too many things as automatically true without qualifying them.

So basically, the human rights which is man made supercedes and is the basis to re-evaluate the words of The Lord?

The Quran should be reinterpreted? This is implying that the Quran is not for our time and Allah did not know the changes that were going to happen. The Quran was sent down for the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and after him because he was the final prophet, if the Quran is not for all times than the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) wouldn't have been the fulfilment of the prophets and we'd still have prophets to this day.

Finally in Islam deen (religion) incorporates all the parts of life you mentioned not only that but economics, politics, law and society (also warfare) are all apart of ibadah in Islam and if anyone reads the Quran they can see that.

Please throw this modernist defeatist garbage out the window, our religion is a religion of Honour and superiority, we don't need hillbillies and western hipocrites to judge us on our religion.

                      http://www.eeqaz.com/ebooks/003fehme...ehmedeen04.htm
