‘Abdullâh b. Shaqîq Al-’Uqaylî – Allâh have mercy on him – said:

The Companions of Allâh’s Messenger – Allah’s praise and peace be upon him – did not consider the leaving of any action to be kufr (unbelief), except the prayer (salâh).

Al-Tirmidhî, Al-Sunan hadîth 2622. Graded sahîh by Al-Albânî in his edition of Sunan Al-Tirmidhî.

It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrî – Allâh have mercy on him – said when asked ‘what is îmân (faith)?’:

It is perseverance (al-sabr) from the things that are forbidden by Allâh the Mighty and Majestic and acceptance. He was asked, “What is perseverance and acceptance?” He replied, “al-sabr is to persevere in holding back from what Allâh has forbidden, and [acceptance is] acceptance of what Allâh the Mighty and Majestic has commanded.”

      Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-‘Ilm 3:535.

It is reported that ‘Alî b. Abî Tâlib – Allâh be pleased with him – said, “The servant [of Allâh] should not fear except his sins, and should not hope except in his Lord. The ignorant should not be ashamed to ask, and the knowledgeable should not be ashamed to say – if he does not know something – ‘Allâh knows best.’ Patience (al-sabr) to faith (Al-Îmân) is like the head to the rest of the body: if the head is cut off, the body will rot. And one who has no patience, has no faith.”

        Al-Baihaqî, Shu’ab Al-Îmân, Vol.12 p195.

              Al-Fudayl b. ‘Ayyâd [187H] – Allah have mercy on him – said:

“Allah ‘azza wa jalla accepts only those deeds which are both correct and sincere (pure). If the deed is done correctly but not sincerely, it will not be accepted. And if it is sincere but not correct, it will not be accepted.” He was asked, “Abû ‘Alî! What is the sincere and correct deed?” He replied, “The sincere deed is one that is done only for Allah ‘azza wa jall. And the correct deed is one done according to the Sunnah.”

The fear of showing off and vying with others prevents me from saying much of what could be said.

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "The Fire of Hell was stoked for a thousand years until it turned red, then it was stoked for a thousand years until it turned white, then it was stoked for a thousand years until it turned black, and it is intensely black." (Tirmidhi)

Ibn al-Qayyim (rh) said: "Myself and others tried seeking healing with Zamzam water and saw wondrous things. I sought healing with it from a number of illnesses, and I was healed by the permission of Allah. I saw someone who nourished himself with it for a number of days, half a month or more, and he did not feel hunger; he performed Tawaaf along with the other people just as they did. And he told me that he consumed nothing but Zamzam water for forty days and he had the strength to have intercourse with his wife, to fast and to perform Tawaaf numerous times." (Zaad al-Ma'aad)

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه) said, "O people, cry! And if you are not able to cry, then force yourselves to cry. Verily, the people of Hell will be made to cry, and they will cry until they have no tears left. Then they will cry blood. They will cry so much and shed so many tears and blood that furrows will form on their cheeks, if ships were put in them, they would float." (al-targheeb wal-Tarheeb)

A man went to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, who among the people is most deserving of my good company?" He said, "Your mother." He then asked, "Then who?" He said, "Then your mother." He then asked again, "Then who?" He said, "Then your mother." The man asked again, "Then who?" He said, "Then your father."

Imaam Nawawi (rh) said: "The reason why the mother is given precedence here is because she puts a great deal of effort into caring for him (or her), shows compassion towards him and serves him. She suffers when she carries him (in her womb), she gives birth to him, she breastfeeds him, she raises him, serves him, nurses him and so on."
