Al-Imaam Muhammad Nasrud-deen al-Albaani (rahimahullaah) said:“The path to Allaah is long and we pass along it like turtles. The goal is not that we arrive to the end of the path. Rather the goal is that we die while we are on the (straight) path”Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. Al-Bayhaqee relates from Ibn ‘Umar radiallaahu ‘anhu that AlIaah’s Messenger sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said:
“For everything there is a polish, and the polish for the hearts is the dhikr (remembrance) of Allaah.
There is nothing more potent in saving a person from the punishment of Allaah than the dhikr of Allaah.” It was said: Not even Jihaad in the path of Allaah. So he replied: “Not even if you were to continue striking with your sword until it breaks.”[1][1] Saheeh: Related by Ahmad (4/352), from Mu’aadh ibn Jabal radiallaahu ‘anhu. It was authenticated by al-Albaanee in Saheehul-Jaami’ (no.5644)Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "If Allah gives a person wealth but he does not pay zaakah on it, on the Day of Judgement his wealth will appear in the form of a bald-headed venomous snake with two fangs. The snake will wrap itself around his neck and bite his cheeks, saying: 'I am your wealth! I am your kanz (i.e. the money, gold and silver, the zakaah of which has not been paid)! ...'" Committing sins during the day in Ramadaan, such as swearing or insulting others, detracts from the reward for fasting. These sins may take away all of the reward, and the fasting person is left with nothing as a result of his fast apart from hunger and thirstOriginally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. It is reported that Ishāq b. Rāhuway – Allāh have mercy on him – said:
If you ask the ignorant: ‘Who are The Jamā’ah (Main Body of the Muslims)?’ they will say, ‘All the people (together).’ But they do not know that The Jamā’ah is a scholar who follows the footsteps of the Prophet – Allāh’s praise and peace be upon him – and his way. So whoever is with him and follows him is [one of] The Jamā’ah.

It is reported that Khâlid b. Ma’dân – Allâh have mercy on him – said:
There is not a person except he has four eyes: two in his head with which he sees the matters of this worldly life, and two in his heart with which he looks to the matters of the hereafter. So if Allâh wants good for his servant, He opens his heart’s eyes, and so he perceives what he has been promised in the unseen world. Thus he is saved from the unseen [punishment] through the unseen [reward for the obedient].

Imâm Al-Awzâ’î – Allâh have mercy on him – said:
Faith (îmân) is not sound except with [correct] words. Faith and words are not sound except with [good] works. And faith, words and deeds are not sound except with [the correct] intentions in conformance to the Sunnah. Those who went before us of our Salaf did not separate faith from deeds: deeds are a part of faith, and faith is from [ones deeds]. îmân is a word that brings together these aspects of the religions [of Allâh] and is confirmed through [a person's] works.
So whoever believes in word, knows in his heart and confirms [his belief] through his works, then this is the strongest handhold that will never break. And whoever says [words of faith] but does not know [faith] in his heart nor confirms it with his works, it will never be accepted of him and he will be in the hereafter from those who suffer in loss.

Hudhayfah b. Al-Yamān – Allāh be pleased with him – said:
The munāfiqūn (hypocrites) amongst you today are worse than those in the time of Allāh’s Messenger – Allāh’s praise and peace be upon him.
He was asked, “How is that o Abū ‘Abdillāh”?
He replied:
Because those [in the time of the Prophet] used to hide their nifāq (hypocrisy), whereas the hypocrites of today commit [hypocrisy] openly.

It is reported that Abū Hurayrah – Allāh be pleased with him – said:
Three things are from Imān: when a man has nocturnal emission during a cold night, so he gets up – only Allāh sees him, and has a full wash; when a person fasts on a hot day; and when a man prays in a barren land, where none but Alāh sees him.
