As I explained earlier because I do not think one should pay zakat on ornaments and waiting 60 years for a lost husband is too much so approach of others convince me more. In matters like prayers, fasting, hajj etc Abu Hanifa is more convincing.

I like him because he is not follower of many hadiths and prefers reason and Quran. Also majority of Sufis follow him and I love Sufism.

In matters of divorce I prefer others where saying talaq 3 times is like one time.

In other words you are making up your own version of Islam picking and choosing from different subjects based on what you 'think' is more 'convincing' .. in other words cherry picking what suits you and what doesn't.

How do you know what he prefered and what not? Have you got any source for us to verify your claims?

Aside from this, as Manzareh said, you are following your own desires by picking and choosing. Yet you responded to this thread in defence of taqleed. Here you are now doing exactly that which taqleed is trying to prevent. Picking and choosing.

        I feel sorry for you.

It means you should feel sorry for those who are against Taqleed if you reached to this conclusion that I do what they teach.

This is for you as well as for Manzareh that in the religion of Islam there are few things which you cannot change. These are the 5 pillars of Islam and other very explicit moral injunctions.

For example I cannot say that one should not pray if I do not like praying. I may not pray but I cannot say that there is no prayer in Islam. Yes there can be difference of opinion how to pray but no one can negate the existence of prayer in Islam.

Similarly one must pay zakat but what includes in it and what not is open to discussion of religious jurists like the 5 schools of Fiqh in Islam. Talaq is a fundamental but how to practice can have different versions.

I being an adult and educated person do have the right to choose one or the other version which is convincing to me An uneducated illiterate may follow one school of thought through out his/life but asking him to choose the correct hadith for his decision will be unrealistic.

Difference of opinion is the beauty of Islam while the approach of ghair muqalideen is the one which leads to the dark alley of the false hadiths and shutting eyes to variety of approaches, schools of thoughts, reason and creativity. I cannot become a Salafi who are blinded by all the true and false Ahadith and for me Wahabism, Salafism are the worst forms of blind Taqleed.

That is the reason majority of fundamentalists, obscurantists, extremists and terrorists follow the approach of ghair muqaledeen(non-conformists) and the world is suffering because of this 1% of Muslims.

Nothing but hot air. The real ghair muqallid here is you. And you are the worst kind of ghair muqallid as you said:
mam Abu Hanifa is very strict
You go against an imam because his views are against your desires.

The type of ghair muqallid you are is often called "ahlal hawwa".

This is real comedy. A guy here defending taqleed and then admitting to be the worst kind of ghair muqallid imaginable.

Badlun, an eductated individual will always have reference for his opinions, an uneducated and arrogant individual will follow his/her own opinions which are based solely on their own personal interperations of things and follow rules based on convienece of their personal life. saying that, whatever school of thought, show me anyware any reference where it says islam is open and ok with us picking which law/rule is the most convenient, a certain aspect of the deen might not make sense to you but it doesnt mean it doesnt make sense just because you cant grasp the logicality of the subject, this is why we have scholars, you claim salafis or 1% are making muslims suffer, i disagree its the 'homemade' self taught scholars that are misleading and misguiding true Islam. If you have no reference for being allowed to pick and choose whatever you think is relative then I'm sorry but your education holds no value on the jurisprudence of Islam as itl conclude that you are a homemade scholar making his own Islam up like a pick n mix.

Desire is one thing and opinion or adopting a different approach is another thing. If I follow one Imam because his argument is more convincing is not fulfilling my desire but agreeing with a school of thought.

As I said in the beginning I follow every one who has more knowledge than me in a subject and his or her approach is convincing. I do TAQLEED of all appealing to me. I am against those who say there is no Taqleed at all.

We do taqleed daily of one or another. We have to follow our teachers, advisors, doctors, parents, elders, guides etc. How we will be able to grasp the whole truth of Islam if we do not follow an expert? No one in this limited life can become master of the whole Islam. We need experts of Islam and then we have to follow them. We need an Imam in our prayers, similarly we need Imam in other subjects too.

What shows me different is that I follow Imam Abu Hanifa in majority of cases but how can I follow him if he says that a wife should wait once her husband is of 90 years age or 120 years age if her husband is lost, disappears or missing? In such cases I should follow another Imam whose approach is more reasonable.

We are discussing here a topic which is Taqleed and we are not writing research papers where references and literature cited must appear. In your posts also I do not see any reference or any source quoted. So both of us are on the same footing. This kind of discussion is like talking between two friends and in such situations no one can carry a bundle of books to prove what he is talking about. If I write an article on the issue of Taqleed which I will never write as already there are thousands of such articles and its waste of time to engage in such polemics and apologetics.

If you have read the book like Reinterpretation of religious thought in Islam by Dr Iqbal, there he explains the concept of permanence and change. Some aspects of Islam are permanent which no body can change like monotheism, prayers, zakat, fasting, hajj, not telling lie, no murder, no stealing etc. I will never say that as it is my desire to steal so I should steal and it is allowed in Islam. But I can say that a woman should wait a reasonable period if her husband is missing as this issue is not in the fundamentals of Islam. I will not become Kaffir if I opine in such matters. Islam is flexible in such matters but rigid in fundamentals.

Quran is in Arabic. Not in English. You did taqleed by relying on Muhsin Khans rranslation. U are a muqalid.
