  • shocking hadith, hadith with no sense, hadith cannot be believed by a sane person

I believe in those hadith which are not contradictory to Quran, reason, common sense and mainly concerned with faith, worship and morality (religion) not Arab culture, dress, arts, politics, society, economy etc.

I consider the Prophet Muhammad to be a great personality, an Arab leader and a successful person. As a prophet I believe him totally but as a person or leader I may disagree with him. Or the words attributed to him are false.

In this thread I would like to seek views and comments of the dear friends on some hadith which if they believe the hadith then may explain how can they defend them and if they do not believe in such hadith to be a true one then may declare that they consider it a false hadith in spite of the fact that the same may be mentioned in the so called sihahe sitta(authentic 6 books of the hadith) or any other book where the hadith was termed as authentic.

I may satrt from some of the following hadith for comments

Muhammad and torture, is it recommended to drink urine?
    Bukhari, Volume 4 Number 261:
'Eight men of the tribe of 'Ukil came to the Prophet and then they found the climate of Medina unsuitable for them. So, they said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Provide us with some milk.' Allah's Apostle said, 'I recommend that you should join the herd of camels.' So they went and drank the urine and the milk of the camels (as a medicine) till they became healthy and fat. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels, and they became unbelievers after they were Muslims. When the Prophet was informed by a shouter for help, he sent some men in their pursuit, and before the sun rose high, they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut off. Then he ordered for nails which were heated and passed over their eyes, and whey were left in the Harra (i.e. rocky land in Medina). They asked for water, and nobody provided them with water till they died.'

nothing shocking about it, we already knew this. But there are some hadiths coming from weak sources which are very weird and downright appalling, I wonder sometimes if they were written by the enemy of the prophet(pbuh) to ridicule him and Islam

Thats why I personally think that any hadiths that contradicts quran and the spirit of Islam can not be a correct. Not all hadiths have to believed, quran is the ultimate book in Islam. Unfortunately a lot of illiterate mullahs in countries like pakistan only follow hadiths and forget about the quran

True and also Badlun type enemies bring up such weak hadith and trying to defame Islam and Muhammad s.a.w. such weak ahadith are 0.001% but he forget about rest of the 99.999% authentic ones.

It means this hadith mentioned in Bukhari, Volume 4 Number 261 is a false hadith?

Then how this hadith can be narrated in the book which is considered to be the truest book after Quran?

What about the following hadiths? Are these false or true?

          Islam and stoning to death?
Adultery, Sahih Muslim, Book 017, Number 4191:
'Ubada b. as-Samit reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Receive (teaching) from me, receive (teaching) from me. Allah has ordained a way for those (women). When an unmarried male commits adultery with an unmarried female (they should receive) one hundred lashes and banishment for one year. And in case of married male committing adultery with a married female, they shall receive one hundred lashes and be stoned to death.
          Book 017, Number 4201:
Ibn Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said to Ma'iz b. Malik: Is it true what has reached me about you? He said: What has reached you about me? He said: It has reached me that you have committed (adultery) with the slave-girl of so and so? He said: Yes. He (the narrator) said: He testified four times. He (the Holy Prophet) then made pronouncement about him and he was stoned (to death).
Stoning to death the female monkey?
Narrated by ‘Amru bin Maimun: "During the pre-Islamic period of ignorance I (Muhammad) saw a female monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse. I (Muhammad) too, stoned it along with them."

                Addition-Deletion-Perception-Deduction

Volumn 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 261, the hadith you mentioned is authentic with minor additions towards the end of the hadith.."..they asked for water, and nobody provided them with water till they died (Abu Qilaba, a sub-narrator said, "They committed murder and theft and fought against Allah and His Apostle, and spread evil in the land.")"..so you see, a chastisement of this order was necessary to maintain law and order, no matter how brutal and horrifying the act, it was more intense back then due to the general mien of societal fabric those days, but under the light of Islamic jurisprudence today and input and assessment from 'real' Ulema who have studied and analyzed the various nuances of how an authentic hadith like that fits to our modern practices of penalization, certain elements of the modality of punishment can be attenuated today but not voided in toto.

All the other aforementioned ahadeeth excluding the 'monkey story' (for which you couldn't give a distinctive authentic reference) can also be traced back to an authentic sanad of inscribing and authenticating a hadith in Bukhari or Sahih Sitta with the same explanation/rationalization as I had propounded in my first paragraph. All that was done for a good reason back then and some of it can reproduced even to this day with minor juristic sharia regulations, which is why I think we should leave criticisms of a religious spiritual nature out of our forums and let 'real/learned' (not the ones that demonize our religion without having a real academic academic perception of our scriptures and practices) Ulema do the explanations for us on relevant forums outside of this place.

"To burn always with this hard gemlike flame, to maintain this ecstasy, is success in life."

It means that hadith can be attenuated and can be made fit to our modern practices?

There doesnt seem to be very many religious people here that know about Islam, perhapse your question is better answered on a Islamic forum? unless of course you are not asking us whether islam is disgusting or not but attempting to tell us it is from your own biased research.

He is not interested in finding answers, he is trying to convince pashtuns that animals wed before having sex.

This is an image from Badlun's world.

I am so far not member of any other forum and I dedicate my whatever time available to this site. I may find my answers if not from the current members then some one seeing such posts on line may join this forum and may give his opinion. Already DZJ had an appreciable response to my posts.

Also we have a full section on religion so we may make this section more useful and may invite some religious expert to join the site.

Whatever I am sharing here is my genuine curiosity, research and quest of knowledge.

About the monkeys was a hadith which I quoted. I was not supporting or opposing any stance on monkey's sex.

I would like to clarify that the credit for that post goes to someone else and not me. No one answered the question here.. I was curious and didn't find much when I searched the net for an answer either so I asked a friend of mine who was able to review it and give out his response. If he wasn't enslaved by his ego to the extent that he is, he could have overlooked accidentally being refused membership in pf twice and replied under his own ID instead.
I don't know what badlun's intention behind posting the hadis was but I am glad he posted it as it gave us an opportunity to look in to it and I wish khushal would take a break from being an ass and not assume things on badlun's behalf.
I will not even comment on dumbo's dumbness..

Anyone posting or commenting about animals having illegal sexual intercourse is an idiot. Is Badlun that stupid that he/she does not even ask how animals have illegal sexual intercourse. How incompetent is he that he does not think before he posts something stupid.

Stoning to death the female monkey?
