This is a thread for questions and answers on prayer (salah/lmunz/namaz) according to the Hanafi madhhab.

The Complete Hanafi Prayer: Using `Ala al-Din Abidin's Gifts of Guidance & Other works

[Iqra]

This is great! Thanks for sharing =)

Does it matter if we hold our hands like other madhabs?

Yes, it does matter. In the Hanafi madhhab, men hold their hands below the navel and women hold them on the breast.

[Son of Mountains]

Wrora, if one has mental connection with his God during Salah, then it is of no matter that either he holds his hands at/below navel, on the chest or does not hold the hands etc. Physical exercise is just to facilitate mental connection with Allah, If u have no connection or physical exercise creates more difference betweeen you n God (by random thoughts in Salat), then physical exercise is of no use. Allah does not need this type of Salat.

The spiritual is not possible without the physical. And there is a correct way of performing the physical so that the spiritual may be fully attained.

One cannot say, "I will strengthen my body, and the form of exercise does not matter. It does not matter whether I run, sit, or sleep."

there is no evidence from sahih ahadith for this.

i would encourage any one to read fiqh as'sunnah

[Mujib]

There certainly is evidence. The evidences of the Hanafi madhhab fill volumes. You as a non-scholar don't know of these works, but that shouldn't be a reason for you to claim "there is no evidence." It is better for us to acknowledge that we don't know and not to make claims about what we don't know.

[Dreamer]

did you imam hanafi come with salat that you call it hanafi prayer? typical of your cult that you ascribe everything to the great imam abu hanifa

[Mujib]

i would encourage any one to read fiqh as'sunnah

Fiqh al-Sunna is not a Hanafi text. It contains strange fiqhi positions, and the English translation is further misleading. It should not be relied upon for fiqh rulings.

This is a thread for questions and answers related to prayer, for the benefit of forum members. The vast majority of Pashtuns and Afghans are Hanafi. Of course everyone can benefit from the thread, but please keep arguments out.

youve done a head count? stop bigging up your cult of hanifisim

Fiqh of Funerals and Funeral Prayers

Note in the Hanafi madhhab one only raises one's hands for the first takbir of the funeral (janaza) prayer. One does not raise one's hands for the second, third, and fourth takbirs.
