  • Evolution

One should then look at the world of creation. It started out from the minerals and progressed, in an ingenious, gradual manner, to plants and animals. The last stage of minerals is connected with the first stage of plants, such as herbs and seedless plants. The last stage of plants, such as palms and vines, is connected with the first stage of animals, such as snails and shellfish which have only the power of touch. The word "connection" with regard to these created things means that the last stage of each group is fully prepared to become the first stage of the next group.

The animal world then widens, its species become numerous, and, in a gradual process of creation, it finally leads to man, who is able to think and to reflect. The higher stage of man is reached from the world of the monkeys, in which both sagacity and perception are found, but which has not reached the stage of actual reflection and thinking. At this point we come to the first stage of man after (the world of monkeys). This is as far as our (physical) observation extends.

    - Ibn Khaldun

Illiterate Muslims have no knowledge of their own historical giants. And of course this is bidaa to the bedouin. What does he know besides fast cars and big buildings? Fast? GOOOOOOD! Big? GOOOOOD!

to be honest bedouins were always bedouins, even in those days, that's why there are hadiths against them

. people like Ibn Khaldun and many other greats were from far away lands

I honestly believe if arabs from other countries like Syria, jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco etc... rise again, they can bring a new positive change to muslims world over

it is backwards minded people like 2010 who attempt to blind people from our ancient heritage and knowledge he keeps saying the Mu'tazilah who Ibn Khaldun was one, were deviant for revealing these truths about nature, but they rejected science and knowledge of the universe.

May we rise againt and restore our Light

            Al-Jahiz

Al-Jāhiz was the first Muslim biologist to develop a theory on evolution. He was an Arabic prose writer and author of works of literature, Mu'tazili theology, and politico-religious polemics.

He wrote on the effects of the environment on the likelihood of an animal to survive, and he first described the struggle for existence. Al-Jāḥiẓ was also the first to discuss food chains, and was also an early adherent of environmental determinism, arguing that the environment can determine the physical characteristics of the inhabitants of a certain community and that the origins of different human skin colors is the result of the environment.

His Book of Animals states, Animals engage in a struggle for existence; for resources, to avoid being eaten and to breed. Environmental factors influence organisms to develop new characteristics to ensure survival, thus transforming into new species. Animals that survive to breed can pass on their successful characteristics to offspring.

His book was a major influence on Arab scholars of the 11th to 14th centuries, and the Latin translations of their work in turn became known to Charles Darwin's predecessors, Linnaeus, Buffon and Lamarck.

all of a sudden? No I always endorsed the theory of evolution and there has ALWAYS been a narrative which depicts some type of evolutionary process

let's get one thing straight ..Ibn Khaldun while present some type of evolutionay hypothesis isn't presenting the currently accepted Evolutionary Theory

the significance of Ibn khaldun's statement is that Muslims EVEN EARLY on had a more practical and attempted a more naturalistic understanding of how the world around them worked rather than BLIND Belief that Bread-Mole, EMKhan and 2010 and their child Molesting Heroes try to preach. That he developed a hypothesis that attempted to understand nature THROUGH Nature, his assessment is flawed but for an Early Attempt ...it was good. We can learn from the ATTEMPT and know that if Ibn Khaldun could be a prominent Muslim and embrace the rigors of science and analytical knowledge, So can we.

I guess electromagnetism is JUST a theory since it is still called the THEORY of Electromagnetism

but starving Aborigines who get exterminated by invading European hordes who talk about reading minds yet die from typical water borne bacteria are fountains of truth

In maths and phyiscs a theory is defined differently than a theory is defined in biology...you can't compare the theory of numbers with the theory of evolution.....

It is not proven...it can't be proven true.

actually in both math and physics and biology theory is defined the same way, because they're all sciences, all sciences operate under the same methodology of research

This means you have never studied math/physics or biology. Theory in both implies how evidence tells us about how the whole thing works Anyone who rejects theory of evolution doesn't understand theories of physics or maths It's already been proven true; we have observed speciation
