Shlombay wrora, we have been fed with tons of lies in certain areas=)

It is just a theory that no one can prove or trace that his ancestors were from Kabul or around Bukhara Tajikistan and they had migrated to Iraq.
Note that Imam RA was born 80 years of Hijra, almost 14 centuries ago.

Majority of the muslims are suspicious including me if "Fiqh Akbar" his book of fiqh printed in Iran is authentic and is most probably tempered with by Irani Shiites, let alone proving his origin and ethnicity.

His name is Noman bin/son of Sabit and his Kunya Abu Hanifa are both in Arabic. His birth place is in an Arab region. His literature and fiqh is in Arabic. His associates at the time are 100% arabs. He never visited Persia etc.

I personally think he is an Arab not a Persian or Tajik, widely thought.
I used to think that as well, but I'm closer to the belief/conclusion that he was Persian. You see, his having written in Arabic doesn't necessarily make him an Arab, neither does his name (many Muslims have Arab names -- like Aisha, Razia, Akbar, Ahmed, etc., but most are not Arab by ethnicity or origin). Arabic was the dominant language among Muslim scholars for a long, long time -- for obvious reasons, and it still is, in fact. Persian was right next to Arabic.

However, if his origin is disputed, then why ask about it, mara? lol. Since different historians say different things.

I've even read Afghan somewhere. To me, he'll always be a Persian, though.

A question is always asked when one is not sure or ignorant of a certain matter and it was the motive behind my question =)

Oh I see. That's not a bad motive for asking questions, actually! Good job.

The question about Imam Abu Hanifa (ra)? It was answered, brother. Imam Abu Hanifa's (ra) full name is Imam Abu Hanifa Nu`man ibn Thabit. He was born in Kufa, Iraq and is said to be a descendant of Sayyidina Salman al-Farisi (ra).
