Waraqah Ibn Nawfal was not a jew. He was a Christian.

              That was the correct answer.

His real name is Noman bin Sabit.
His birth in a Persian family is somehow disputed by scholars and historians given all the facts of his birth place, name, literature etc.

His name is Noman bin/son of Sabit and his Kunya Abu Hanifa are both in Arabic. His birth place is in an Arab region. His literature and fiqh is in Arabic. His associates at the time are 100% arabs. He never visited Persia etc.

I personally think he is an Arab not a Persian or Tajik, widely thought.
