My Two Cents

while I don't take KHostai's or KGODB's assessment on the issue, both of them appear to sympathize with the practice of adultery; which from an evolutionary standpoint is completely absurd. It is clear that neither have a clear understanding of anthropology and the nature of the evolutionary basis of human behavior.

But death penalty for adultery is no longer an effective response for containing adultery. We now other tools and methods we can use to deal with adultery and adulterers, rather than creating more suffering in our lives we can use a gentler approach.

For those of you who are thinking this is bid'a and this contradicts Shari'ah; then think again. Prophet Muhammad(saw) said "if you can find any excuse not to punish someone , then use it". So the Shari'ah actually teaches that it is preferable not to punish someone than to use the hadd. The Hadd is for extreme situations.

Unlike euphemistic portrayal of adultery as "a woman being with a man she desires" being used as an emotional appeal to sympathize with it; Adultery is dysfunctional behavior which should be treated and its roots, and its roots are social, psychological and physiological.

Even people who murder shouldn't be killed, killing someone does not bring the person they murder back. It is only mindless revenge; we need an approach that attacks the root of the problem, not its symptoms.

because in Saudi if you voice outrage against crimes you can get in a lot of trouble.

Most crimes in Saudi happen in people's private domains and thus most of the victims do not have the power to vocalize the injustice done to them in public.

They even encourage their sisters and daughters for such acts to make them confident in the society.
