Shi'a in Swat?

I was wondering if there are Shi'ites in Swat. Do you have any information about the spread of Shi'ites in Pashtukhwa?

How many Shi'ites are there?

I know of the Shi'ites of Parachinar. But I am interested to know if there ar Shi'tes specifically in Swat.

I don't think there are any Shias in Swat.
Swat mostly comprises of Yousafzai,Khattak,Gujjar and a few other tribes that have no history of association with the Kafir e Mutlaq sect.

What would be wrong if there was Shias in Swat, I dont see a Pashtun by his faith, if a Pashtun is a Shia or Sunni, he is still my brother.

Yes, there are Shiites in Swat (along with Hindus and other non-Muslims).

I have Sunni friends from Swat who were neighbors with Shiites.

And, according to my grandfather, "The Taliban are good because they're killing Shiites the heretics, the kuffar of Swat!" Who knows, they're prolly all wiped out by now. :S

How many, I don't know. I don't think we can ever know. If I were a Shiite living in a hopeless region where Sunnis were going to kill me if I admitted that I'm a Shiite, I would never, ever say I'm a Shiite then.

But going off topic, I wish we'd leave them alone! Let them be. And I agree with Maseed: what does Shiism have to do with being Pukhtun?

There are definitely no Shias in Swat now. Exceptions are those few who are here in Swat on Govt. assignments.
A long time ago when Swat used to be a State, those good old days (Pakistan annexed it in 1969) some families of Shias from various parts of Pukhtunkhwa settled in Swat, however, when in Muharram, they all gathered in the famous Grassy Ground and began this beating ritual, someone informed the Wali of Swat. The Wali immediately sent a band of Militia after them with instructions from the Wali to show the Shias how the real beating is done. After they received the real beating, no one heard of them after that. I was at the time 10 years old and witnessed all this myself.

There are no Hindus either. Actually, all those people known among the people of Swat and Buner as Hindus are Sikhs. Since they don't keep grow beards, therefore, the people mistake them for Hindus. A small community of Christians has also settled here.

Shi'ism is kufr. And as a good Muslim as suppose to strive to see more people going to paradise than hell. Therefore I wish that they denounce their shirk and accept monotheism and fall under allah's mercy rather than allah's wrath.

After all, we are all bani adam. And what kind of a human being would wish his fellow human being to wind up in eternal fire?

You heard 'em: Shiism is kufar! Shiites go to hell, becuase all kuffar go to hell! End of story, and there's nothing to discuss, as that's an already-established "fact" of Islam! Only Salafis/Wahhabis go to heaven... oh, wait, they don't like that term; they don't exist, but only Shiites exist. Non-Shiites don't have a name, since Islam doesn't support division or creation of new branches. Wow.

Are you from Swat? You shouldn't go by what you hear or what you're told; you need to actually go to Swat and check for yourself.

Hindus are for sure there. The Shiites may be wiped out by now, though, poor folks. May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'aala have mercy on the souls of those who have been butchered, and may Allah (SWT) bless the ones who are still alive. Aameen.
