The punishment of the grave is not something that our Prophet (saw) has taught us. So, this lady is not misleading anyone.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

We get them from ahadith; however, those ahadith cannot be taken literal, they are metaphoric.

Belief in the punishment in the grave is part of the `aqida of Muslims. It is proven by many verses in the Qur'an and many hadiths. Allah Most High says:
In front of the Fire will they be brought, morning and evening: And (the sentence will be) on the Day that Judgment will be established: "Cast ye the People of Pharaoh into the severest Penalty!" (40:46)
Their being brought in front of the fire morning and evening is the punishment in the grave.

Islamic tenets of faith are enumerated in the `Aqida Tahawiyya (everyone should read and understand it), which states:
              80. We believe in the punishment in the grave for those who deserve it, and in the questioning in the grave by Munkar and Nakir about one's Lord, one's religion and one's prophet, as has come down in ahadith from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and in reports from the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them all.
              81. The grave is either one of the meadows of the Garden or one of the pits of the Fire. (`Aqida Tahawiyya)

It was narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“When a person is placed in his grave and his companions leave him, and he can no longer hear the sound of their sandals (footsteps), two angels come to him and make him sit up, and they ask him, ‘What did you say about this man Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?’ He says, ‘I bear witness that he is the slave of Allaah and His Messenger.’ It is said, ‘Look at your place in Hell which Allaah has replaced for you with a place in Paradise.’” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “And he sees them both. But as for the kaafir or hypocrite, he says, ‘I do not know, I used to say what the people said.’ It is said, ‘You did not know and you did not follow those who knew.’ Then he is struck a blow with an iron hammer between his ears and he screams a scream which everything around him can hear apart from the two races (of mankind and the jinn).”

                  (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1222)

I fear for your Islam, as always you are too eager to cast off what others here say about basic concepts of Islam.

                    like you said here:

how did you come by that interpretation? is it what you feel or do you have any grounds for justification for what you said?

You see, this is extremely dangerous what you are doing, there is a corpus of Muslims who say one thing, and here you are PROJECTING something else.

As you might know, mention of the grave existence and the punishment there is detailed knowledge among many of us. I am not incriminating you here, so dont be angry, I am just saying, dont write everything you feel without some evidence for it or against it.

In the end, we here, are all on the same side, brothers in Islam and by blood as Afghans, so please dont simply counter argue out of anger to my post.
