Enlightened doesn't mean wise and understanding eh?
Enlightened - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Education means systematic indoctrination. (doctrine is the active process by which a community controls the behaviour of the individual...Khidr was outside of community)
Moses (peace be upon him) more likely than naught was more 'educated' than Khidr. Moses (pbuh) was raised by Pharoh and most likely had been educated in the arts and sciences as has always been customary for royalty.
Everything Khidr did defied Moses' education...
Education doesn't lead to enlightenment ...especially secular education!
Enlightenment, as is understood in the context of western history, is mainly driven by criticism and the ability to parse and analyze issues into their parts.
This is why I compare you to Mirza (founder of Qadianism) because it was around that time when Enlightenment was in it's golden age...and during those times that religious tenants were being questioned by the "enlightened" ones...and so in response, "modern" muslim scholars tried to reinterpret the Qur'an to fit with the materialistic dogma of the west.
Rationalism has failed the Western world. The failure of its economy as it is now cannot be contested. The economic principles were inspired by "evolution"...which in turn was inspired by that same zeal to reduce the status of man...a trend which had began with the copernican revolution.
Your call to reason is outdated...a century old.
I am too deep for you bro..

Education | Define Education at Dictionary.com
I don't see anything that relates to your description of education in the actual definition; in fact the primary definition (definition #1) is more akin to wisdom, understanding, reason, awareness and what have you. Since your entire argument is based on your erroneous rendering of the terms; this nullligies your entire argument as falsified.education [ej-oo-key-shuhn]
Education Definition
ed·u·ca·tion [ej-oo-key-shuhn] Show IPA
noun
1.
the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.
2.
the act or process of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession.
3.
a degree, level, or kind of schooling: a university education.
4.
the result produced by instruction, training, or study: to show one's education.
5.
the science or art of teaching; pedagogics
and based on its actual meaning, Khidr(ra) was definitely educated, enlightened and rational as he understood things more specifically than Moses(as). Thus using Khidr(as) provides an example in favor of those who are enlightened, educated and rational.
it is rather ironic that you mention this story; Moses (as) in the context of the story represents individuals like yourself; Those who see things only LITERALLY, who stick to the superficial apparent understanding or rather lack there of rather than seeking a more complete and rigorous comprehension of a situation. Moses(as) merely objects naively with some superficial comprehension of what he believes and Khidr(as) corrects him with a deeper more nuanced understanding and awareness. Much like I do when I debate you and deconstruct the details and consistencies of an argument thoroughly rather than rely on some emotional attachment to a concept as we observe in many of your appeals.
again repeating the same fallacy won't make it suddenly be real; Just because Mirza Ghulam "questioned" things doesn't mean He was "Enlightened" and just because Mirza Ghulam may have been invalid, but this doesn't make questioning invalid.
It's sort of like the "Hitler was a vegetarian so vegetarianism is bad" fallacy Guilt by Association.
This debate and exchange itself exemplifies the merits of enlightenment and being knowledgeable and better informed. It was being enlightened that gave me the Wisdom to check the Definition of the Terms that I was able dismantle your argument while your lack of information and ignorance lead you to present erroneous conclusions. This itself demonstrates the merits of knowledge over ignorance.
You're not deep "bro" ; you just prattle on subjects you have not even the most basic knowledge or understanding of, as usual.

LOL
my son ...my son..
Check the definition of the word "process"...
What is "General knowledge" anyway? How do you go on to say that Moses (pbuh) represented General Knowledge but then try to link "education" with Khidr...who you argue had "specific knowledge". ( A futile distinction!)
Are you lost without a dictionary? LOL...you can't even read the dictionary...
See Scimitar...you just care about winning debates. You don't care about the truth. About real knowledge.
You demonstrate "Selective reading" every time I debate with you. Points 2 - 5 concur with what I said...but then you say "Oh I don't see what you said in the dictionary"?
Really? Who are you trying to fool?
Why can't you be honest?
And then I am superficial?
LOL
you make me laugh son...Last edited by Alchemist; 11-28-2011, 09:55 PM.

was this a rebuttal or just some attempt at trying to pass womanly theatrics as a response,
nothing, corresponds with your definition, I see no mention that things are exclusively restricted to community or indoctrination which you stressed in your post; When you can show me where you're reading those in the dictionary I'll concede. So far the words have not magically appeared. I'm rather amused however how you've backed down from the Khidr(as) issue now that it's been dispatched away from you and backfired hehe
You know you don't have to always try to save face; when you're wrong, it's simply as is. You can't try to make it somehow look right by making some obnoxious snarky reply back.
You can laugh at me, but I shake my head in pity for you. You're a tragedy.Last edited by ScimitarXEdge; 11-28-2011, 10:02 PM.

Fine...
believe what you want.
Simply because what I said couldn't be found on a dictionary goes to show how limited the ability of a "rationalist" is. In that you can't know the meaning of a word in it's context but only in isolation, without context.
The story of Khadr is about understanding deeds in their context.
You lack that ability.
So I pity your handicap.

Al-Chemist biradur, your writing style is eloquent but your argument is sometimes completely devoid of logic and rational appeal---For example, here you concluding on the basis of partial empirical evidence / observation and definiting even abstract concepts (that lack precise definition) in absolutist terms ---this cannot build up your argument----

bahahahhaha
So the she-male who always tries to skeet by on pedantics is now downplaying the need for precise pedantically consistent definitions and is now appealing to nuance and context which he conventionally shuns?? How intellectually dishonest of you, as usual. At least you can't pose the use pedantics as a scapegoat anymore.
There's nothing EVEN WITHIN THE CONTEXT of such a term that validates your definition. If Such words were so loosely characterized, then you could pretty much attach any meaning. Perhaps Education means riding a unicycle or a Cherry with a bright colored stem; feel free to fabricate anything to compensate for being wrong on every account.
And no, the Khidr(as) tale is about having wisdom, enlightenment and acquiring knowledge, actions are only the means which served to demonstrate that.
It's even in Tafsir Jalalayn

Goodness, have you ever even bothered to read the Khidhr story, or did you just mention it because it's hip and trendy to name drop Khidr in some sort of Fashionable Masjid poser act that you run? Don't you ever read up on a subject before you run your mouth?
I'd figure being dispatched in the last post would have taught you a lesson; but like a moron, you keep running your head into the wall. Get some self respect Ladyboy.

Excuse me sir.Originally posted by Toramana View PostAl-Chemist biradur, your writing style is eloquent but your argument is sometimes completely devoid of logic and rational appeal---For example, here you concluding on the basis of partial empirical evidence / observation and definiting even abstract concepts (that lack precise definition) in absolutist terms ---this cannot build up your argument----
But what need is there for "empirical evidence" when we are debating on metaphysical questions?
Your argument seems devoid of an argument. Are you trying to get back at me for taking the feather out of your cap else wear?
An elaboration on your position here would be greatly appreciated
