Islamic Revival to its fundamentals

I think there was someone who touched on this topic once, either a random person or a scholar of some sort...or someone somewhere in btwnn...

stating that a revival was needed every century...

as far as whether its towards modernism / fundamentalism ... I'd say the latter ... just bec it seems like we forget.

I think we need a revival just to have a better understanding. It seems like people are inter-twining culture with their religion.

Modernism is a term often used by Muslims weak in practice and in a state of compromise fitting their own needs.Twisting Islamic commandments for their own sake and passing their judgement on stuff that is taboo to be permitted since it better serves their purpose.
Thats how i think of it, could have a better definition.

IF everyone were to follow the Islamic fundamentals and become a fundamentalist a lot of our problems would be solved. we need to revive the spirit and clear up our misconceptions. we have a user named momin who helps users clear misconceptions as well.

a mujadid is needed every century to distinguish the falsehood from the truth and to clear the fundamentals of Islam from Bidah, you cant change Islam to correspond with ''modernism''

I think at times we do need to revive the Islamic spirit. Nowadays, every Tom **** and Harry tries their best to make non Islamic things Halal. We even have members here who try to justify exposing of the buddy, wearing shorts in public and etc,

But, what about Muslims who want to make suicide bombing halal and oppression of non muslims as halal? What about fellow Muslims like abu bakar who want to reconquer Spain and other Non Muslim regions with an Islamic Justification, what about Muslims who want to make Imperialism Halal because the Sahabas did it?

is that the kind of Islamic spirit you want?

some one is obsessed, this coming from sone one who thinks the sahabas were ''naudhibillah'' kafir for occupying non muslim lands
