Biting you fathers genital is out of character. Read Bukhari. "weak" reasoning? am saying whe do people read Hadith collection, when Bukhari is sufficient enough. It has thousands of hadiths, pertaining to all aspects of everyday life.

I showed how Abu Dawud contradicted a Bukhari Hadith, on the part where it was reported the Prophet gargled, after milk. In Abu Dawud it was reported that he didn't gargle after drinking milk. What was it then? Isn't Bukhari more authentic. Small matters like this are important.

    Abu Dawud
    Book 38, Number 4449:
    Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: If anyone has sexual intercourse with an animal, kill him and kill it along with him. I (Ikrimah) said: I asked him (Ibn Abbas): What offence can be attributed to the animal/ He replied: I think he (the Prophet) disapproved of its flesh being eaten when such a thing had been done to it.

    Book 38, Number 4450:
    Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:

There is no prescribed punishment for one who has sexual intercourse with an animal.

Personally I don't see it being out of character, he's not saying go around telling people this in general; he's giving a context for when it is appropriate.

Your reasoning here is circular, you haven't given a solid basis for why it is or should be seen as out of character.

Before we can say there are contradictions we have to look at the gradations, Furthermore you have to look at contexts in which they were said. For example
did you examine when these ahadith were actually stated?

It would have been that the ahadith saying there's no penalty for for bestiality was before the verdict by Nabi(saw).

This is why its inappropriate to make such hasty judgments.

And gargling after drinking milk, again a similar approach applies. We have to be cautious about when, what sort of situation, was this a situation that had context or was a general ruling. Did the previous get abolished by a later ruling.

We can't look at ahadith literature with a uni-lateral attitude.

Whatever man. The Prophet (PBUH) said the people who make up I lie against him, shall be thrown in the lowest hell. I see an example of that here, which he said would have happened.

You should pick up a copy of Sahih Bukhari.

NOW I realize this is not the same subject, BUT it demonstrates a point; here is something that Nabi(saw) mentions which is considered Taboo and "be-adab" for us.

Would you be horrified at the idea that the Nabi(saw) would discuss sex, If he was any other man you may immediate rise up in anger and yell BEGHAIRAT BEGHAIRAT. What this shows is how we have been taught Islam is wrong and it's not actually Nabi(saw)'s way.

We're looking at the hadith from the wrong lense, seeing it from the point of view of our cultural hang ups rather than reality.
for me its hard to believe, but ui wont want to hear these kinda hadis in pulic or on loudspeakers in front of my family.

nationalism is an ugly thing, so its description as said by the prophet fits the uglyness.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I'm self-taught. When I was younger I learned the Quran in Arabic in a Pakistani Madrassah. I read and studied the Quran and Bukhari/Muslim hadiths in English by myself.

My parents are Hanifah, but I am not.

Well you make a good point; but bear in mind many of the ahadith, even ones which are confirmed by everyone, may not have public airplay.

anyways the point is, as Randolph stated, the ugly remark is to highlight the ugly nature of being pompous about our origins.

i did not want to reply on this thread because i see there are alot of hyporictes and people who just want to argue for no reason but this reply is for the muslims who are a bit confused....

the thing is when uthman(ra) went to talk to the quraysh and the muslims were under the tree BAIT I RIZWAN and took bayyah and were all granted jannah a munafiq was amoung them and was playing with the prophets(saw) beard ( in a mocking way) and made fun of the all the companions so abu bakr(ra) got up angrly and told him to go suck al-uzzas (mans private part) and rasul(saw) did not apose this reason why.....

because sometimes you have to treat the person in a matter or a certain way and give him what he deserves

2nd when you are defending the kallimah in SOME certain situations when the time and place is right you can

for example you are not allowed to kill in islam or use foul language but when in battle you have to kill and in some situtions you are allowed to give what the peson desrves.

and for the narration on the fathers gentials i never heard of it....
