I wasn't trying to get smart with you, you said

but if we say yes then that means that we have NEVER missed a prayer and i don't think that's possible for anyone. ka sanga?

I simply acknowledged this. Apologies if it came out as offensive.

Alhamdulillah, Allah pak has blessed me to pray 5 times a day, on time, in the west, by waking up early for fajr, staying up late for isha, taking time off from work and studies during the day to make the dhuhur, asr, and maghrib prayers. I say all this because there is no blame in the one who makes apparent the obligatory actions in the religion-rather it is actually recommended. I was not someone who always prayed 5 times, even through most of high school I was a slacker. It was my cousins' sincere advice which instilled in me the importance of prayer. All it is, is a change in mindset. Your day should revolve around your daily prayers and not the other way around where you're trying to squeeze in the prayers in whatever time gap you find or even worse, blowing it off. When you schedule your time with work, studies, fitness, etc, the prayer should take priority and everything else should fall around it. I don't mean to be offensive but whenever I hear someone use the excuse of not having enough time or work environment, I can't help but think that this person has their priorities backwards. How can you tell me that a 5-10 minute prayer, 3 times during the day (where fajr and isha are usually prayed at home) conflicts with your schedule?!?! The real problem is weakness in 'iman; weakness in stepping out of the classroom when Allah is calling us...weakness in asking our employer for a 10 minute break for prayer...weakness in standing out in the open and prostrating humbly in front of Allah jalla jala lahu, the Creator of those who stare but don't realize that they should be in the same position. It is fear, fear of the creation and negligence of the Creator. In difficult times, we run to Allah but in times of ease, we forget Him. This is the example of the mushrik that Allah (swt) gives in the Qur'an. Just take a moment and ponder over this hadith:

“The first thing for which a servant will be held to account is his prayer. If it is correct and sound, all the rest of his actions will be correct and sound, and if it is corrupt then all the rest of his actions will be corrupt.” [Reported by at-Tabarani]

Eh da aqlu khaawandaanu, if this is the first thing which you will be asked about, what does that say about its importance? With every single command and act of worship Allah ta`ala sent Jibril-i-Amin (as) down to Nabi Mubarak (saw) to tell him but for the prayer Allah pak made a special malemani for Muhammadur Rasulullah (saw) above the seven heavens and there it was where he (saw) was gifted with the prayer. It is the only act of worship that Allah (swt) brought up Nabi Mubarak, and personally, with no messenger in between, gave him the blessing of the prayer. What an honor for the Messenger (saw), what an honor for this ummah! But unfortunately how little we understand.

Here's an inspirational Afghani high school basketball player who puts his religion first and was recognized in the news for this, masha'Allah:

      And as for the comment:

i don't and i am not ashamed of it. it would be nice if i did but it's not the end of the world for me that i don't. i know plenty of people who pray five times a day but fail being proper muslims in other basic aspects. that however isn't my excuse for the reason for which i don't.

I'm not the type that criticizes khori but to say that you're not ashamed of it is taking it too far. It is better to keep one's deficiences to one's self especially when Allah has kept them hidden. The whole concept of haya` is to feel ashamed of not upholding the commands of Allah. And as you know, 'iman and haya` are one (as he (saw) joined his two fingers together); when one is lifted, the other is also lifted. I know you mentioned that others actions don't affect why you don't pray but just to clarify, the prayer has an external and internal aspect to it. Just because one sees someone praying, it doesn't mean that he will be perfect in all other aspects of the religion because he is not aware of the inner situation of that person nor should it concern him. It is only when the both the inward and outward of the prayer is accomplished will that person will become a complete Muslim.

I have attached some very valuable talks by Shaykh Inayatullah Sahib (ha) about the benefits and virtues of the prayer. Please take some time and listen to them insha'Allah.

Again, this was just sincere advice from someone who has made many mistakes and has learned from them and is trying to benefit his wrono and khwandi.

                    Poll closed.

Very surprised with the results. 40% of Pashtuns living in the West pray 5 times a day everyday on time. I would have thought that in general only about 20% of Western Muslims would do this. Perhaps it shows how much more religous we as a people are compared to other Muslims.

Although the turn-out was slightly dissapointing at 20 votes. Obviously we cannot take this poll as 100% accurate lol but thank you to everyone for participating.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

If you wish to make a new poll, that is none of my business.
I don't mind if you want to re-open this one or make a new one since I already quenched my curiosity so to speak.
