  • Do you pray 5 times a day, everyday?

Please only answer if you live in the West.
This poll is completely anonymous and 100% confidential so please answer truthfully, otherwise the only person you are lying to is yourself.

Many Muslims living in the West especially those born here do not indeed pray 5 times a day every day. I am speaking here from my own experience but I assume that this is widespread and can be applied to many Muslims in the West.

Please only vote 'yes' if you do pray 5 times each day, on time, including waking up for fajr, and you do this on a regular basis - not 3 times yesterday, 4 times today and none tommorow.

Note - There has been some confusion. I cleared it up in the thread, so I will just quote myself for you benefit.

So if you vote yes it means that generally speaking you do meet the criterion I stated above. You may miss the prayer for whatever reason but as long as it is not intentional and it not preventable then you can pick 'yes'.
There is no need to post a reply, only your vote is needed, but if you want to express any view then please do.

The poll will close in one week.

Edit: And no, this is not an attempt to try and judge others or whatever. It is purely for statistical purposes. However having said that we should all try and make some sort of arrangement to fulfill one of our obligations as Muslims.

To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
    own inclinations and desires

I have school but I make arrangements to pray on time.

It is very easy to arrange and they are obliged to accomodate for people's religious views.
If you tell them that it is a compulsory part of your faith then they should allow you - atleast that is what happened to me.

That was in my old school but now I just go to the local mosque every lunch time.

I don't know if you employer or school would do that though.

i don't and i am not ashamed of it. it would be nice if i did but it's not the end of the world for me that i don't. i know plenty of people who pray five times a day but fail being proper muslims in other basic aspects. that however isn't my excuse for the reason for which i don't.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

but i dont think it's as simple as yes or no lol what about the option of "yes i try, so most days yes but i may miss a prayer some days due to what ever reasons" therefore i can't absolutely say 'yes' so does that mean i apply to 'no'?

I am not really that bothered with the reasons as to why someone doesn't pray. As I said, this is purely for statstical purposes and i'm not here to judge anyone.

I am sure we all want to pray 5 times a day. But I am interested in how many of us actually manage this task given its importance to our spiritual life. Nothing more.

but if we say yes then that means that we have NEVER missed a prayer and i don't think that's possible for anyone. ka sanga?

Well I don't mean since the day you were born that you have prayed every single day 5 times a day.

I myself did not pray 5 times a day for a long time but I was ignorant then. I learnt the importance of the prayer and the punishment as well as the reward.

So if you vote yes it means that generally speaking you do meet the criterion I stated above. You may miss it for whatever reason but as long as it is not intentional and it not preventable then you can pick 'yes'.

If that is not the case then do not pick yes.

You can take the timeframe for this to simply be 'recently'. You yourself can decide what 'recently' means to you whether that is in the last few months, the last year, since you became a practicing Muslim or whatever.
