manana guys!
I didn't mean to stereotype. A lot of women who follow Islam very closely choose to be stay at home moms. More women in Saudi Arabia hold university education than the men, yet they're only a tiny percent of the work force. So it isn't always because they're forced to but they want to.
It would be nice if all women had the choice. Nobody can stop me! I am superwoman!

Yeah I agree with the fact like how some women get an education but stay at home to be moms, I actually like that idea =)Originally posted by Muslimah View Postmanana guys!

Osho.....I really wish all men thought like u.....Originally posted by osho View PostMost welcome to the community of Muslims and the Pashtun Muslims.
Choosing a religion is some one personal decision and I personally am convinced that Islam is a good religion and has many things to offer as its pure monotheism, the comprehensive personality of the prophet Muhamamd, its prayers, modes of worship and ethics. The literary glory as well as the message of Quran , the mysticism and sufism in Islam all demonstrate the sublimity of Islam.
But as you come from one extreme , you may not go to another extreme. I will very humbly request you to please be a messanger for Pashtun women and I beseach you that you may not be another addition to the Pashtun woman with the typical want to stay at home, cook, have a dozen kids and read Quran all day type.
We cant restrict 35 million Pashtun women to just stay at home. It will be a huge waste of the human resources. Cooking can be done by both man and woman. Having dozen of kids and making the woman just a child producing factory is cruelty and again waste of human resources as well as a burden on financial and natural resources. Quran may not only be read but also be understood not the usual Pashtun way of reciting Quran like a parrot.

Are you hoping to marry a Pashtun? I mean is that the real reason you are here? It's okay if it. I'm just curious please don't mind
I am very sorry if I offend some people here with my thoughts. It has just been my own personal observation in the USA that the vast majority of reverts do so either to please the man they love or his family.Last edited by Guest; 06-12-2010, 07:36 AM.

Marriage is a strange thing...sometimes it happens when you least expect it ... but if it hasn't been planned for you just yet, don't think it will never happen...
I am prob not replying to anything that has been said before, as I only read the last post... so yeah ..(unless I was in here before I dont know).

Muslimah, you are NOT getting old. Please don't think like that. Also, please don't worry about your past. There is nothing in Islam that restricts a woman from getting married because of her "past."
Have patience, it will come. As one member said it best--it will come when you least expect it.
Don't rush, you might get stuck with a bad Muslim that might make you hate life.Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:
[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.
[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

heeh I am not rushing my dear! No worries!
It will take someone with a very strong personality to put up with my family though. Nobody wants to stick around for that.
But there are people who will judge me because i have a past. But it is haram for me to think of my past as I was a kafir. Its annoying.

What is stopping him? I need to talk to him. Knock some sense into him.Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

Muslimah....a little piece of advice. We Afghans, and no one can deny this, at times we get stuck with crazy, psycho in-laws......so when looking for a spouse, you have to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Otherwise your inlaws can make your life a living hell. Not going to lie
So if the guy is decent and you like him, make sure that 150% sure that his family, especially his parents like you and respect you....and vice versa
My sister married the guy she liked, and she didnt know what she was getting herself into. I will only say that her in-laws are psychotic and very disrespectful to her.
