Every new thing that first came to our area was opposed by Mullah but the common man had to adopt it in order to be relevant and competative in the changed world...and ultimately, the mullah also had to adopt it when it became an inevitability...Similarly, schools, loud-speakers, tv, radio, etc. were vehemently opposed by mullahs initially...

mullah first tries to be the leader in opposing new ways but due to his un-sophistcated mind and primitive ideas is ultimately reduced to the status of a follower...

Mullahs... lolzzz they are not looked down upon by respectable Pakhtuns for no reason!!!

It reminds me (and this goes way way back) of a Friday khutbah telling the congregation to shoot the "flag of kuffar" (dish antenna) on our roof and many muslimeen did but we kept on installing new ones. The idiots would always shoot at the dish not the LNB in the center. Finally during Ramadhan my father held his yearly Roja Mathay for the locals and Moulvi sahib was in attendance, my father told us to setup the TV outside and turned on the TV showing crisp clear prayer transmission from Makkah Sharifah, moulvi was enjoying the TV while most people were enjoying the company of each other and chatting. After about an hour my father secretly told me to secretly go and disconnect the dish. The moulvi turned and told my father the TV did not work and my father replied seems like someone must have shot the dish antenna in front of all the guests.... there was a muted laughter but we all enjoyed it!!!

Credit to the moulvi that he never mentioned my father in his America hate filled politcal Friday khutbas again!!!! I forgot this story untill one of my father's collegue reminded me during a gathering a year or so back!!!
